Ive been a fan for a long time. I go to Jim N Nicks every time I have to go to Birmingham. This being the first time Ive eaten at Cullman establishment, here are my observations: Ambiance is good ol Jim N Nicks! No surprises. Getting there just before 12pm I assumed it would be slammed. It was instead about half full. Considering there are tons of restaurants to choose from, it didnt worry me. I appreciate the small lunch menu which is very manageable and ensures efficient service. The waitress was very pleasant, attentive but not hovering. I ordered the classic pulled pork sandwich with fries. The cheese biscuits were delicious as always, but it took an unusually long time to get them. I was worried they'd be served with entree. The waitress was probably getting a little upset with the kitchen staff because she dropped in to promise me they'd be out soon. Then the food was served. The fries... uggh. Dried out like the'd been sitting under a heat lamp. They absolutely were not fresh. The pulled pork was good. It needs one of the sauces to better than good since it was a little bland. In the end I was not charged for the fries which an entirely acceptable solution. It would have been too much food anyway Overall: Great staff, kitchen needs tuning up. read more

Our family had a GREAT experience! Every staff member greeted us with a friendly and positive attitude. Our server, Jason, was exceptional. He had the most positive, customer-focused attitude of any server I've ever had. It was the best service our family has had since COVID began, possibly ever. We were not regulars there, as we stopped in passing through, but he treated us like you would your own family and made our dining experience great. Our food was hot, fresh, and delicious. And the restaurant was clean and well taken care of. We will make it a point to stop back in whenever we are passing through the area again. Couldn't be more pleased with our experience! read more

First time at the cullman location. Everything was on point and the chicken was cooked just right. Opted for the house sauce since the white isn't my thing, and it was as solid as could be. I don't usually give a 5 star but today was an exception for sure. I sat at the bar and it was well stocked and inviting. My "bartendress" was Rendy and she was nice and made casual conversation with me while I was there. Will be back here for sure, well done!! read more

We sat for 15 minutes before a sever ever approached our table. My husband ordered hot links, they were cool and raw in the center. We tell our waitress and her only response was hold on. Someone who I assume is the manager comes to the table to ask what the problem is. She brought him some new hot links but at that point what is the point? Dinner is obviously ruined after biting into cool meat. My husband had to leave the table to vomit, his dinner was ruined, no apologies, and a fully charged receipt. Service is always poor at this location. We have given it MULTIPLE attempts. Paid nearly $40 for a plate of brisket, sides, and half a dozen cheese biscuits. Cheese biscuits and sides were good. However, the brisket was the absolute worst I've ever had in my life. It was dry as a bone - so dry and devoid of moisture I couldn't eat it. I ended up giving it to my dog. Jim N Nick's is usually decent BBQ, but I'll never be back to this location. read more

What happened to the cheeseburgers?? JNN used to be the absolute best place in the state to get a cheeseburger. They used to grind their own meat from choice beef, hand pat the patty then grill. Now it is a pre-fab patty that hasn't touched a grill. Average at best. Honestly, sonic now has a better burger, and 5 guys beats them hands-down. The fries have changed too. JNN was known for their freshly prepared food. Now it's just another restaurant serving average to poor quality food. I wonder if all the locations have made these awful changes? Perhaps they are another causality of the pandemic. read more

My family and I had lunch here today for the first time in over a year. The cheese biscuits were good as always as was everything else we ordered. I had the Grilled Catfish, and it was delicious. Not over cooked and great chargrilled taste. My son and Dad both had the brisket sandwich and both ate every bite. Salad was fresh and collard greens tasted homemade. read more

This place is a love hate- when it's good it's phenomenal, but when its bad it really stinks. I love there brisket more than anything and the cheese biscuit is a classic. Great selection of beer and mixed drinks' the service has always been great. The last gripe is there prices are high. If you never had it its worth a try. read more

i had a bad experience today trying to buy the cheese rolls with US currency. as i pulled to the drive thru window the cashier said they were going to check on my payment, after she went to check with the manager and the manager told me that they were not allowed to use that kind of payment which it was dollar coins. as i know that is still a US currency, and i'm aware that's still a currency that can be used to this day. i was very dissatisfied bc they said THEY aren't allowed to use DOLLAR COINS! they were not allowed to take "irregular money" by meaning dollar coins. read more

Never have enough staff to fill restaurant. When you see 8 or 10 tables open and they tell you it will be a 30 min wait something is wrong. Slow service after you finally get in. Waiter setting drinks or hot plates down in front of toddlers. read more

Unfortunately the worst JNN we ever visited. Long wait time (40+ min) and they were out of most items. They could have relayed that info while we were waiting. Most things we needed took several requests (e.g. asking for straws several times, salt and pepper, water, etc). We love JNN, but Cullman's manager might need some remedial training to get back to their standards. We won't be back. read more

Wow. You have got to try the bacon!!! These folks catered the Jeep Jamboree (breakfast lunch and dinner) and did a fabulous job. The breakfast was delicious, scrambled eggs, BACON, biscuits with sausage gravy... everyone seemed pleased and satisfied. Bag lunches were very good. Ham sandwich was so good and that chocolate chip cookie was heaven. Fried chicken for dinner was full of flavor and juicy. Looking forward to day two today! We needed a place between Birmingham and Florence to meet some family members and decided on this location. The local Jim N Nicks we usually eat at is a family favorite, so we thought this would be a great location, too. First, I want to say that the people who work there were very friendly and the food was fine; however, everything seemed off from the beginning to the end. When we went to sit down, we were missing two chairs and a high chair. Not a big deal, but it took longer than usual to locate the necessary items. Quickly, our delicious cheese biscuits came out, but there wasn't any silverware or plates. That's ok, because our crew was so hungry, they didn't need plates. When our meal came, we still didn't have silverware, prompting me to get up and find some on my own. My family even joked that I was being a great server. Some of the order was incorrect which led to a hangry six year old waiting for his meal. At the end, I had to go find some to go boxes as no one would bring us some. This is just a few examples of issues we had. Again, everyone was nice, just a bit incompetent. I hope they can read this and make corrections as needed. I love Jim N Nicks, so in hoping they can improve their service. read more

My food was cold because I ordered ""pre-prepped" food my spouse ordered a burger and said his was good and hot. It was freezing in the restaurant too. We went here two other times the first time was good but these past two times was really disappointing. There are other places to eat if these people don't step it up. read more

The server was nice but the food was "meh" at the very best. The meat was a weird texture and couldn't be swallowed. The "grilled" corn had been boiled and thrown on the grill for a moment and then drenched in some awful vinegar sauce. Friday night at 6:30 we walked in with no wait which was nice. We sat at the bar and watched March Madness. The bartender was nice and helpful with the menu. I decided on a loaded pork potato and my wife had grilled chicken. Both of us were very happy with our choices. If we go back I would probably get the same thing again. Service was terrible. The only good thing about my visit was the food and how nice our waitress was. She was very busy and had a bunch of tables, which was weird because there wasn't many people in there, but she was very nice. It took 10 minutes to get a drink order, my wife's beer sat at the bar for 5-10 waiting for someone to bring it, and I waited 15 for a refill. The only thing quick about this trip was they brought the entree's before the biscuits. The food was good enough to try it again, but service needs work. read more

The food at any Jim 'N' Nicks is great, so that only leaves customer service to critique. Most Jim 'N' Nicks' we've been to have horrible customer service, but Duntre was the exception on our visit to this location! Awesome attitude, professional and friendly! Well, for the second and LAST time, Jim and Nick's in Cullman, Al. has severely disappointed. First, the Carolina pork came out cold, and the serving size was very small, now, I'm fine with a "lunch sized" portion, but there is no "lunch priced" offering, so full price for half serving, the meat did not even cover the bun, sad. Now, the thread has been picked, began to look around, I noted to my lunch companion how sticky the floor was when we were seated, but then I began to look around, the restaurant is dirty, its nasty. We arrived around 1115, they opened at 1100. So the trash on floor, boothes, etc. is from last night, or yesterday, or the day before? Then I hear the bathrooms are really nasty too. Well, enough said, I will not be back to this Jim and Nick's location, such a shame, I love the corporation, and applaud so many things they do, and have eaten at nearly every location, but Cullman is a horrible representation, and this is the second time I have been disappointed here. I spoke to a district or regional manager last time and he asked me to give it another shot, well this was it, failure. I've finally found awesome bar-b-que in Alabama. One Sunday my family and I were out for a drive when we ended up in Cullman around lunch time. We searched our GPS for food and saw Jim 'N Nick's BBQ. Ladies and gentlemen, if you want good food coupled with great service give this place a chance. You will not be disappointed. If you can, ask for Andrea. I've seen a lot of wait staff in my life and Andrea is bar none in the top 2% of all time. That said, keep in mind, this is a restaurant, and from the looks of the place when we went on Sunday, a very popular one. If you don't have the greatest service don't just bad mouth them on this forum, talk to the manager and let her make it right. I personally spoke with her to compliment Andrea, but while I was there I watched one occasion where things were apparently not right and she bent over backwards to fix the situation. Cullman is about an hour away from us so we don't go to Jim 'N Nicks a lot, but we've been back a few times, and even take our friends (who have also said the place is awesome). read more

We have experience with Jim n' Nick's in Birmingham, so when we were camping with out-of-state friends in Bankhead National Forest, we brought them here for Southern-style barbecue. We were not disappointed. The service was good and the food was great. read more

I love the food here, but went through the drive through. It took 15 minutes and cost over $40 for two. I could never give this place a bad review bc the food is the best; however, the server at the window butchered my order. She called it back to me and I corrected her on the rib size. I said no gravy on the potatoes and I got gravy. I asked for extra sauce and I got none. No biscuits in my plate. read more

The food here is so delicious. The best barbecue to me by far. I drive from another county just to eat here. You would not be disappointed with the stuffed potatoes. The best service we've had this weekend! We've been traveling through Alabama for an out of town wedding, and have eaten a few meals with sub par service and food. This broke that trend!
