Ive been a State Farm customer for more that 25 years. Home, car, ... Since january they have upped my monthly rate for $384/mo to $560 a month. that is a literal 45% increase. 45 percent increase! insulting. what did i do to cause this? wreck my car, have a house fire? no - my family have had an exemplary record for decades. so i emailed jim about this. his response: "We are currently in the worst insurance crisis I've seen in my 33 years. I can assure you that we will do our best to go over your policy and make the changes necessary to lower your rate" so what did they do? they asked if i wanted to up my deductible. no jim, i would not like for *me* to find a way to solve *your* problem. im sorry your company is going thru a crisis - PASSING THE BUCK TO EXCELLENT CUSTOMERS is not the answer. shame on you, jim olson. i am actively looking for a new company. read more

I have been with Jim Olsen Insurance with State farm like 4.5 years and like the customer service at the office. Usually deal with them on the phone and or email. The very helpful and upfront about your insurance choices and anser question well. I switched to them due to doing Uber and lyft part time. For a very inexpensive amount I could add coverage for driver share. There were also less money for comprehensive and collision coverage from my last insurance company. They are good over the phone and reply from emails. read more

Not impressed. I moved out of state and updated my address through the State Farm App. Apparently your CURRENT agent is supposed to reach out to you as soon as they see the change of address to confirm it and get permission to transfer your account over to the new state agent but over a month went by and no one followed up with me. I'm stuck paying ridiculous California rates while not even living there even though it's not my fault! I've been through the wringer with customer care, different agents in Ohio, and now I'm waiting on the office to open in California. My friend who moved with me was assigned to another agent named Carlos Cornejo, through State Farm in California and HIS agent followed up within HOURS of his change and his policy was updated! So I had an INSTANT example of their procedure. Jim Olsons' office dropped the ball and I'm furious. Update: Jim called me to explain the reason they didn't reach out to me is because it isn't their job. I'm supposed to find my next agent apparently and then THEY are supposed to reach out to his office or I am supposed to reach out to his office to forward over my policy. Very strange that I did exactly what my friend did and he didn't have to do ANY of the legwork. Hmm... Mind you, this is the first time I've ever spoken to Jim. Only because of this review... He said they are working on straightening out the situation. I'll update this once everything is squared away. All of the information I received was from State Farm Customer Care, my friends agent in California, & 2 different agents in Ohio. They all gave me the same information. But Jim's experience was apparently completely the opposite. We will see! **Update** The new insurance agent in Ohio reached out to me to confirm they received the information from Olsons office. The new insurance agents underwriter was able to go back as far as 30 days to honor the difference in rate. I am grateful for that. read more

Two car accidents , neither my fault, two break-ins to my car covered by renters insurance. The process was easy and painless it's nice to have a local agent in your neighborhood. When I was going to buy a house they even offered to come out and take pictures for homeowners insurance unfortunately the deal fell out of escrow but you get the point. Almost a decade client down tubes. I've bought 700 per month life insurance policy and they are refusing to reissue a stolen Check. Will amend if jim gets it together. He's super nice. Wow. So they didn't call me back... My car got broken into... My wedding ring gone. All because they wouldn't bother to recut a stolen check. Clearly this place isn't what it used to be. Having to level a complaint against this agent and I particularly his assistant who basically stole my money, Total bummer. read more

Her promptness and knowledge are totally unrivaled, and being a people person I love that she puts up with a bit of my chit chat.
