I find examples to be more convincing than unqualified praise, so here are some concrete ones: I had a confusing clause in my lease about renter's insurance liability minimums that I wasn't sure my policy met. Martine looked over it, got back to me within a day, and answered all my other dumb renter's insurance questions. Roadside assistance decided to blow up my fuse box by reversing the polarity on my battery. The damage wasn't enough to reach my deductible so a claim was out of the question, but Martine still provided some good advice about other options I could pursue. Thanks a bunch, Martine! read more

I had a terrible experience with this agency. The billing was messed up from day 1 so I was constantly underpaying or overpaying. They also had some turnover so when I finally found someone that could fix my constant issues, she left. I Finally gave up on SF and switched to Gieco which was cheaper for same coverage. Unfortunately, no one ever processed my cancellation despite calling and emailing several times to confirm. I now have an intimate relationship with... their voicemail that they don't seem to return (Or return via email with 0 information/resolution. They back-dated the cancellation but said they would "Apply the overpayments to future bills" to which I explained I cancelled ALL policies and there wasn't anything to apply it to. Its March, I cancelled in December. They finally issued the check earlier this month but it was for the incorrect amount because they didn't process the cancellation on the date I called. I am told this matter is currently "Under review" with no eta on resolution. I cancelled for a reason (poor customer service, bad experience, etc) and the cancellation just illustrates all the reasons why you should run from this business. SF is also one of the most expensive agencies. I did some quote shopping for Homeowners, car, renters, umbrella, and at one point life and they are just expensive, poor customer service, and difficult from a paperwork, systems, tracking standpoint. Geico was smooth with great system to access billing, policies etc. Update- the response below makes no sense. The good person left and the person who messed up cancellation is still there. Also love that we have time to post comment responses to bad reviews on Yelp but NOT to respond to my SECOND email asking for resolution on what State Farm owes me (from cancellation 12/5!) Run people to another insurance provider like I did. Yikes. Better Business Bureau perhaps is my next step as this business owes me at least $100 and likely closer to $200! read more
