My new favorite salon! My sister and I came in together a few weeks ago for the first time. Naomi cut my sister's hair and Jason did a deep conditioning treatment for my hair. The results were fantastic! I would definitely recommend both stylists. Today I went back again for a cut by Naomi and she did such an amazing job. I always have a hard time finding a stylist that I like and can trust to deal with my long hair, but Naomi is the best! Yanai Van is one of the few hair stylists who's ever left me satisfied with a haircut I thought made me look good (not an easy thing to do! haha! :-) ) So, I'm really happy I decided to try him. I had purchased a Formosi voucher and was thus entitled to a deep conditioning treatment, haircut, and a blowout. Luis was my stylist and he was a really sweet guy. When he was washing the conditioning treatment out of my hair I could feel how soft my hair was without even touching it. The haircut, well, I looked fucking glamorous let's just leave it at that. The employees along with the manager here are all very rude, disrespectful, and offensive. Tried to use a promotional package I bought for them and was completely degraded, the receptionist had no clue how to answer any of my questions. The manager barked at the airhead receptionist before getting on the phone to bark at me just because I was trying to use my promotional package. KELSEA CHENEY did an AMAZING job with my hair. She's impeccable with Color, Cut, blow dry... EVERYTHING! I received a balayage color from her which looks amazing! I have never received so many compliments on my hair. I have naturally very dark hair and every time I try to get it colored, the color turns orange within weeks. However, not this time!! Our family has been coming to Jim Wayne Salon for nearly 20 years to have haircuts by ANNE SIBTHORPE . She does an amazing job with all hair types. My daughters also get excellent skin care from Octavia. So when my daughter wanted to try subtle highlights as a graduation gift , I felt comfortable sending her across town to the salon. She was assigned to NAOMI who bleached stripes into her hair and she looked like someone dumped a bowl of spaghetti on her head. The toner she reluctantly applied in an attempt to correct the disaster turned her hair green. She never showed her sample colors or discussed options and was very defensive. I had a really great experience at Jim Wayne Salon, and with stylist Naomi. She was so accommodating with booking me an early morning appointment before they usually open so that I can get to work on time. I got a haircut and absolutely loved it! I got so many compliments on my hair for months later. On top of that, she was so sweet - we pretty much talked the whole time. She also used a few conditioning products on my hair and made customized suggestions on what treatments to use for my hair condition. I ended up getting the leave-in hair conditioner that she recommended and use it now before I blow dry my hair and it has really helped with the dry ends of my hair. I used the Formosa package and made an appointment with Cynthia. They left me alone for 30 minutes before even asking what I wanted. I ended up getting single color process, Yanai started doing my color and was not very friendly then Cynthia came over to help and the were bickering and arguing right in front of me. The would do part of the color leave for 20-30 minutes come back do a bit more then leave for a while. When they finally took my to the back to wash my hair they left me back there for almost 45 minutes. I had to move around to 4 different chairs and when they got me back to another chair I had wet hair and it had been over three hours. I decided to just leave, they finally took notice and cut my hair. They did not even do the deep conditioning treatment or style my hair. After over 4 hours for a simple cut and color i walked out to find a parking ticket. Also, they rip you off in price was not worth what i paid. read more

I want to let you know about Homer, the best hair stylist in Los Angeles! I have been cutting my hair with him for over 10 years, and I am picky picky picky with my hair. He gets it. He just knows the best haircut for you. He takes his time, gets to know you, looks at you, sees who you are, and then makes magic. I have thick curly hair, the kind there are no references for in the magazines (If you have hair like mine, you know what I'm saying), and I like modern cuts, cuts that say "Look at my haircut." Homer is the only one I know who can turn anyone's hair into beautiful hair. I will never stray,and I send my friends to him and they rave. I had the pleasure of working with Lisa Shapiro recently and I could not be happier. Let me start by saying that to say that I am picky with my hair is an understatement. I have always had long blonde hair and I had recently moved to LA. While searching for a stylist I decided to try an ombre look at another salon and I HATED it. I had heard about Lisa from a friend and decided to enlist her help in getting my hair back to its' previous blonde. From the very beginning, Lisa was amazing to work with!!! She worked with me to quickly find an appointment time that worked with my crazy and random schedule, she looked at pictures of my hair and we spoke in depth about what I wanted to accomplish with the highlighting. After all of this she presented me with a variety of options regarding least to most expensive and let me pick what solution I wanted to do. This was all before I had ever met her in person. Once I arrived at the salon, it got even better. We discussed in depth our plan of attack for my hair, as well as the steps that we would take to make sure that it was kept as healthy as possible. Lisa did an amazing job with transforming my boring brown hair back to an amazing blonde, while minimizing the damage! She talked me through steps to take at home to keep it healthy and suggested a product for me to use on my hair that is awesome. She also touched base with me after the appointment to make sure that I liked the color and was happy with everything. Since the highlighting, I have received many compliments on my hair color-- 3 in one night-- and I love it!!! I cannot say enough positive things about Lisa and my experience with working with her. She's amazing-- her attention to detail, her expertise in hair, and her true compassion and investment in each of her clients "hair happiness" is unparalleled. I recommend her very highly! Recommend that salon calls or get an automaded system to confirm appointments. I asked for two separate Friday appointments, for services part of a package. I was booked for a Friday and a Thursday instead. Receptionist called 30 minutes after my appointment to just say I was late and that I forfeit my service. A Changed World for a Curly Hair Girl About three years ago I walked into the Jim Wayne salon in desperate need of something to make my chaotic curly hair pleasant.
