We're glad the Lost Texan can now be found in Townsend, Tennessee.

"Try the fish." I was skeptical. Super skeptical. I mean, who goes to a BBQ joint for the fish? The waitress was quite adamant, "The fish is delicious". Am I really gonna be "that guy" and get fish at a BBQ place? Wow. It was delicious. The breading has a kick to it without being overpowering. The filet was delicate and flavorful. It wasn't greasy or overcooked -- it was perfect. Sure, the Cowboy beans, burnt ends, fried green tomatoes, and pulled pork are great, too. They have been favorites since JimBob opened up. But now, I'm officially "that guy" who gets fish at a BBQ place.

Came on a Saturday night. Unfortunately, they only had 1 waitress, so the kitchen folks needed to come out and fill in between orders. The salad bar was closed and there was no bread. Wish there was even cornbread or garlic bread for sale. Due to the shortage in staff, we waited 10 minutes to order drinks. Several parties were seated after and 1 received their food before us, so we were salivating. As for dinner, we ordered a veggie plate, a pork sandwich, burnt ends dinner and kids Mac 'n cheese. The food that came with the meals were: -corn nuggets, which were nice and hot; -cowboy beans, which were good, -okra, which was warm enough, yet no seasoning added; -Mac 'n cheese, which was pretty good, yet tasted like it was boxed; -pork sandwich was good; -beef burnt ends, not warm enough (thinking it was plated 1st?) -fries were good. Overall, the food was pretty good. Wish the service was a little better though, as our server was somewhat snarky (probably from the stress). Would I recommend? Yes, but be forewarned it costs extra for the okra and corn nuggets, which I didn't know until I got the ticket.

    Amazing sauces

I had a a late lunch one afternoon as I always in this area doing business the barbecue overall I would give four stars service I would give five stars all the way the young lady that waited on me was absolutely outstanding. I cannot remember her name I just know that she is from Sevierville and we drive over daily to do her job which she was excellent at overall would recommend this place to anyone that was looking for good barbecue with great service. I really enjoyed the spicy and hot barbecue sauces. Apple pie barbecue sauce was a must try also.

Ordered takeout ribs and they were overcooked and dried out. Prices are a little high but not if the food were good.

From ensuring they source fresh, seasonal ingredients to creating a welcoming atmosphere, it's obvious that everything is done with passion and attention to detail. The night we came in for dinner, we had the joy of having Mariah as our server. We had the fried chicken skins, the à la carte ribeye and sirloin, mashed potatoes, broccolini, and summer squash, and then the cobbler for dessert. The drinks were strong pours, everything was seasoned perfectly, and the service was impeccable. Another night, we came in for drinks and dessert and had the goat cheese cheesecake and Pots de Crème. If you're looking for a restaurant that's the perfect combination of great food and great vibes, this is absolutely it.

First off, the restaurant is truly stunning! Service was excellent too. We started with the Fried Chicken Skins. My friend had heard good things for a friend, but we weren't particularly impressed. I had the Hanger Steak as my entree, and it was delicious. I especially loved the potato dumplings! My friend had the Kansas City Strip, cooked medium rare, with broccolini. Initially, the steak was overcooked, but the staff quickly cooked another steak and made it right. Overall a really good experience! Downtown Sevierville has really evolved, and we enjoyed walking around and exploring after dinner.

Stopped by Cottage House Restaurant in Cleveland and this place is exactly what you want if you're…read morelooking for a solid, no-frills Southern breakfast. First off, the setup is super easy. You walk in, grab a tray, and you've got options. You can go through the hot bar and get served right there, pay, and be on your way... or order off the menu, sit down, and they'll bring the food to you. Very simple and efficient. The inside is spacious with plenty of seating, and there's also outdoor seating if you want it. Parking is easy too, which is a big plus, especially compared to the chaos you'll run into closer to Helen. Food wise, I always judge breakfast spots by the chicken, egg, and cheese biscuit... and this one held up. The chicken was tender, the biscuit was soft and fresh, and overall it was a solid start. The surprise for me was the hashbrown casserole. It came out good, but once I added a little salt, the flavor really popped. Definitely worth getting. The pancakes were also done right... nice crispy edges with a soft, fluffy inside. That's exactly how pancakes should be. Menu wise, they've got everything you'd expect from a Southern breakfast spot... biscuits and gravy, eggs, bacon, sausage, country ham, pancakes, omelets, and even lunch style items like burgers and plate meals if you come later. They also have a Coca-Cola fountain, which is always a win. Service was friendly, especially for early morning, and the whole place just has that comfortable, old-school home cooking feel. There is also a drive thru if you don't feel like leaving your car. Overall, this is a great spot if you want a good breakfast without the crowds. Simple, tasty, and easy.
