This thing is massive your choice of meat, cheese, pico de gallo, pinto beans, rice, and sour cream. Sometimes I order the taquitos, for an extra snack, but as of late, they haven't been putting enough meat in the taquitos so it's mostly been a hard shell with a little to no filling inside; if you do get them I would recommend getting the loaded ones with the queso sour cream and guacamole! The taco salad!! for the light eaters that want to keep it healthy. This is a good option. And don't forget the loaded nachos! I would skip on the steak tacos!! conclusion to the staff, please make orders, hot and fresh. I've gotten cold food lately where my tacos have been cold, which is a bummer because when the food is hot and fresh, it is so good otherwise the staff is pretty friendly no complaints there and all this month when you order they're offering 15% off. I'm a big Jimboy's Tacos fan. The tacos remind me of the ones I used to eat growing up. I've tried several of the Jimboy's Tacos around the Sacramento area and the one in Fairfield. I happed to be in Elk Grove and drove by this location. I ordered two of the ground beef tacos and one carnitas taco. My wife had one of the carnitas, one of the ground beef tacos and a horchata drink. The tacos were good but were missing the crunch to the taco shell. I think the heat was too high so the taco didn't have enough time to crisp up. The horchata was too sweet and watery. It did not taste like authentic horchatas. Overall the tacos had good flavor, the carnitas were tender, hot, not fatty and a little crisp to the meat. I prefer the tacos at some of the other locations that are able to get that crunch to the taco to make it a 5 rating. Since I love Jimboy's tacos I would be hard pressed to give anything less than 4 stars primarily on the tacos. Staff were nice. read more

For good fast food tacos in a hurry, I rely on Jimboys to satisfy my crave. Today, I went to the Elk Grove Blvd location to use a $10 earned reward that was expiring. Unfortunately, the system at this location does not allow it, though staff tried on both of their registers. However, Giselle assisted, and did not hesitate to give it a try. She could see that I had the credit and would expire, so she asked if I could place the order online to be sure not to lose the credit. Because I am not tech savvy or familiar with their ap, she was very patient with me and helped me step-by-step, place my order. She was so kind and helpful, I plan to frequent this location more, even though it's further away for me. The tacos and taquitos I ordered were good as usual. Not the top like the authentic full service restaurants, but my favorite quick taco fix. You can see that I took a bite out of the ground beef taquitos so you can see the inside. It was good. Same meat that comes in the tacos, rolled into a corn tortillas, and deep fried nice and crispy. I ordered the plain, which comes with guacamole. Decided to try this place out since I always pass by it. Convenient that they have a drive thru at this location. Ordered the steak tacos and a kids quesadilla meal. The steak tacos were good a little on the greasy side but still good especially with the cheese they put not sure if it's corona or Parmesan but still good. Their green salsa is also good and I like how they weren't stingy when I asked for 3 not knowing the size of them. Where have you been all my life? My husband directed us to Jimboy's as we were passing through on our way to Reno. How have I never had Jimboy's before? After careful consideration I got 2 tacos, one carnitas and one grilled chicken. My husband always gets steak tacos. Once our order was ready I grabbed a few taco sauces and got to work. I didn't know parm cheese on the shell could be so magical. Holy crap, they were so good. The carnitas was tender and moist, the chicken was similar. Just overall goodness, moist and tender. The lettuce was fresh and the cheese was tasty. I think I told my husband after every bite how amazing my tacos were. I cursed him for not bringing me here sooner then searched for the closest location to my house. Unfortunately you are 76 miles away. Staff was friendly and the tables were clean. We went in to dine. The cheese enchilada plate was ordered. The cheese inside the enchilada was literally still shredded cheese and cold. The cheese was not melted yet still cold from the block. We took it to the front and asked for a cheese quesadilla instead, so we got the quesadilla and they said sorry, the quesadilla is on the house. We go home and later that night we were charged for the quesadilla and the cheese enchilada plate. I'm not sure how they were able to charge my card again for something they messed up and also said was on the house. I would be careful handing your debit card over because apparently they charge items without your consent or even handing them your card. I will be following up with corporate, that is kinda scary. read more

It's safe to say I'm a fan of Jimboy's! I've tried their food once YEARS ago but I wasn't impressed but recently found myself here willing to give them a chance and I was craving tacos. This location seemed to have okay reviews, it was on my way home and had a drive-thru. They are on a pretty busy street so the drive-thru line was a bit long but that was fine because it gave me time to go over the menu a little more. The menu had a variety of tacos like ground beef, hamburger, grilled chicken, steak, carnitas and a few others. They also have salads, bowls, burritos, desserts and appetizers. I wanted to order so much but I wasn't going to allow my eyes be bigger than my stomach lol. I ordered the two ground beef tacos plate which came with rice and beans and I also ordered a taco burger. I was pleasantly surprised by the presentation of the food, it looked and smelled so good. The tacos were really good and flavorful, while I liked the corn tortilla shell dusted with grated Parmesan I felt the shell should have been crispier because the bottom broke and the filling fell out. The rice was pretty good as were the beans but I must admit they were a tad bit too salty. The burger taco was very average and I had the same issue with the taco shell, I prefer the ground beef taco. I'm glad I gave this place another try because it was good and worth it. I will be back to try some of their other items and of course those yummy tacos. read more

Went here for a bacon breakfast burrito the other day. I'm from out of town but love a good breakfast burrito. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the contents from a drive thru burrito. Quality crispy bacon, real quality eggs, and pretty solid flavor. I was surprised when I reached into the bag to discover that the burrito wasn't really wrapped at all, it was just in a little sleeve, so I was worried about the mess but it ended up being fine. They gave me a few little sauce packets which were good but if they had legit salsa to go with the breakfast burrito I think it would add a lot. read more

Food is delicious. Location is clean. Temperature was freezing. Outside it's currently 50 degrees and inside it was 55!!! I was sitting by the thermostat so I knew it was in fact 55. The emplOyee came up to adjust the temperature while we were there to a whopping 60 degrees. All of the staff was freezing but maybe management doesn't let them turn it up??? Tacos = comfort food, plain and simple. I've been to this location several times now, and it's consistently been the Jimboy's Tacos that I know and love. I'm not sure if it's going to be a permanent addition to the menu or what, but I'm a fan and would definitely have them once in awhile. What really consistently brings me to Jimboy's is what I'm guessing is their most popular item? Maybe not... who knows, I don't have the official stats or anything, but most of my family and friends tend to gravitate to what I imagine in my head to be the "original" Jimboy's item way back in the day - #6 Original Ground Beef Tacos they started with back in 1954. These tacos are done pretty much the way my dad cooked tacos at home when I was growing up (he didn't dust the outside with Parmesan cheese), which is another reason they take me to my happy place. I can't say that I've ever turned down a taco, but there is a pretty wide range in the way tacos are done - "street tacos" are pretty popular in the area, and I can't say I'm a huge fan of those... these are not street tacos. I'm also not a huge fan of cilantro, and happy to say that cilantro isn't piled three inches deep on everything at Jimboy's - yay! No question I'm coming back to this location as well as other locations when I'm in the mood for tacos. read more

Most recently, I ordered the chips and queso because the nachos are no longer available through DoorDash.
