Chicken quesadilla added sour cream, salsa verde, and pickled onions
    brandon y.

This restaurant/food stall is located inside Tilted Mash Brewery. I ordered the chicken, carne asada, and al pastor quesadillas. They were all good and they add a good portion of meat in each. The al pastor was a bit too oily. The cool thing is that you can add additional pickled vegetables and salsas in your quesadilla. I would go back next time I am at Tilted Mash.

I found Rosa Madera when searching for "queso" in Yelp...(I really was wanting some queso)…read more Anyways, funnily enough, I read through the menu when I got here and ended up getting nachos in place of the queso...that's fine though, it gave me an excuse to come back another day. It's a nice looking place inside, especially considering its general location. They were busy even at an off hour mid-week, but I can see why because the food is great and so is the atmosphere. My first visit, I tried the following: Enchilada Verde (Lunch Menu), Mini Birria Tacos (Lunch Menu), and Nachos de la Casa (with asada). They also brought out complimentary chicharrones de harina, which was especially nice because I was super hungry! My second visit I had the following: Queso Con Rajás Dip, Los Favoritos, and the Burrito de Carnitas (Lunch Menu). I ended up liking the nachos way more than the queso. I wasn't expecting the queso to just be the consistency of slightly melted cheese. I also wish they were a bit more generous with the chips since I ran out of chips way sooner than the dips. No complaints on my main dish portions though! Really loved most things I've tried. The presentation of my dishes I've ordered here, the Enchilada Verde and the Burrito de Carnitas, was great too. The chicken was just slightly too dry for the Enchilada, but the flavor made up for it. Only complaint is while the service was nice, it was SO slow both times I've been here. It took forever to get the check and when they did bring out the card reader you can't see the receipt, only a total. Then their lowest automatic tipping button is set at over 22% (with two higher percent options), which is honestly crazy to me since most places start at around 18%. I way overtipped on accident the first time I came. I think it's highly likely they get overtipped for this reason, which is nice for them but kind of not fair to the customer. I'll continue to return!

The consomme was made from the broth used to slow cook the beef used in the quesabirrias. The quesabirrias were delicious when dipped in the consomme. They were swerved with onions and cilantro on the side, however would have benefited from more veggies. The carne asada nachos were yummy! The nachos contained tomato, onion, cilantro, guacamole, jalapenos, radishes, carne asada, and cheese under fresh tortilla chips. All the ingredients were of high quality and tasted delicious together. Complimentary chicharrones de harina were served with hot sauce. This is the first time I've been to a restaurant that served complimentary chicharrones de harina. Chicharrones de harina are a Mexican snack that are made from fried wheat flour. Service was good as the workers were friendly and polite. They were short staffed so service was slower than if they were properly staffed. It was surprisingly busy around 2pm on a weekday.

I was expecting a taqueria style place with a good salsa bar but was slightly disappointed when I saw it was a table service place. The service and food weren't bad by all means as I enjoyed the chicken fajitas and the salsa that comes with their tortilla chips. However, the pricing was something I wasn't fond of. At other places, they offer free unlimited chips and salsa, as well as lunch specials every day. But at this place, you only get 1 free basket of chips and salsa. Refills cost $1.50 each. My friend's super burrito was nearly $18 and didn't come close to the size of super burritos at places like Vallarta, which charges a few dollars less and has an awesome chips and salsa bar. I might consider trying them again on a weekday for lunch if I'm ever free but I'm not in a rush to come back. There are just so many other options out there that offer a better value and bigger portions.

Decor is beautiful and clean. Went during a lunch rush. There wasn't much service besides being handed your food, you're not checked on and you clean up after yourself. Dispose of plates into garbage bin and plates into the bin ontop. It was difficult to get to go boxes or extra limes. I got the quesabirria tacos. The meat was bland and so was the dipping broth. I was expecting a blast of flavors and spices in my mouth, but that never happened. I got 1 lime with this order of 3 tacos. 6/10 because it was crispy on one side more so than the other and it was packed with meat and onion. This seriously Lacked flavor. My friend got 3 tacos, asada and al pastor. I tried a bite of each, and the flavor was also lacking there. 3 tacos came with 1 lime. Their rice was very dry. Hard to swallow. 1/10. Fries were decent. My husband got their asada torta. 5/10. It was lacking flavor and the bread was just not good. The veggies in the torta were just not elevating the dish either. Not served with any sauces to go, so ask for it before you leave the restaurant.

My mom came up to the counter with our order already written down and ready. The clerk told her she needed to step aside because our order would "take too long." My mom did as she was told and stepped aside, and the clerk helped two other customers. When my boyfriend and I came up to the counter behind those customers, my mom asked if she could place the order now since she had already stepped aside and waited. The clerk responded, "I need to take their money first." We explained that we were with her and that she had already waited while those customers were helped. Instead of helping us next, the clerk then said she needed to help everyone else behind us before helping us, which made absolutely no sense. The line could have continued growing and we would never actually be helped. When we asked to speak to a manager, we were told to step aside again and wait another 10 minutes. The way we were spoken to was extremely disrespectful, especially toward my mom. We came ready to place a large catering order and were prepared to spend hundreds of dollars for our son's first birthday. Unfortunately, we never even got the chance because the staff refused to take our order. If this is how customers are treated, I can't recommend this place. I will definitely be sharing this experience with others and telling them not to come here.

The person working the cash register was friendly and took our order quickly. My food came out in what felt like 5 minutes and tasted great. The price of my meal came out to a little more than what it would've been at Chipotle, but the generous helping of guac and edible bowl with a soft crunch I feel brings more value than the difference. I would say the freshness of the ingredients and their quality maybe be slightly under what I'm used to at other establishments, but combined the salad still delivered and I was definitely feeling full after eating everything and three quarters of the actual bowl. Access to an unlimited salsa bar and unlimited chips is also a great touch. The tables and chairs could've been a bit cleaner, but it wasn't egregious or anything. I'll definitely make an effort to come back more frequently. Hopefully the other items on the menu give as much bang for your buck as this one.

I visited this past Saturday and it was quite busy inside like it always is. The restaurant is large enough to fit a lot of people, so finding a seat isn't an issue. To order, you line up in front of the register and wait until they call you. Once it was my turn, I ordered a Super Burrito with Al Pastor, which is my favorite protein choice there. Usually I order 2 tacos with my burrito but I was saving room for Korean bbq that day! The Super Burrito comes with your choice of meat, rice, beans, salsa, sour cream, guacamole, and cheese. I also ordered a medium pineapple agua fresca, which paired perfectly with my burrito. After ordering, you're handed a number to take to your table so the servers know where to bring your food. As I'm waiting for my food, I helped myself to the self-serve chip bar. The chip bar is my favorite thing about the restaurant besides the food and quick service. I always get loads of both the white and red pickled onions, and some salsa to go with my chips. They offer many sides to choose from so that anyone can customize their meal to their liking. The pickled onions have the perfect level spice and acidity to them which helps with cutting down the greasiness you may get from a burrito. I also like to snack on them for fun too! The food comes out extremely quickly. When I finished placing my order and brought my number to my table, I went to the self-serve bar right after to get some chips. Not even 2-3 minutes later, I came back to my table with my burrito already there! The burrito was absolutely delicious and piping hot. It's the perfect size for me and eating it with the pineapple agua fresca and some chips makes it a perfect meal! Coming to La Favorita Taqueria is always a treat and I appreciate the quick customer service, self-serve bar, and delicious food! I highly recommend the Al pastor as your protein choice and honestly you can't go wrong with anything on their menu!
