UPDATE: After the soggy tacos I received on my last visit, I did stop by a day or two later and let them know those tacos were covered in so much grease, they weren't edible. They were really nice about it, wrote my name down on a page in a binder, and told me the next time I came through, to let them know and they would remake my three tacos. The other night, my client was craving Jimboy's again. She is fascinated by their burrito bowls and chicken enchiladas, so I reordered two burrito bowls and a chicken enchilada plate through the mobile app. When I walked in, I let the woman at the register know that my name should be in a binder from my last visit. She found it and offered to make my tacos, as well as throw some chips in my bag. I definitely appreciated that! While the food was being made, I stopped at their salsa bar and loaded up on all of them so I'd have plenty for my tacos and chips. As I waited, it seemed like the dinner hour was starting to pick up. I even chatted it up with a sweet, sweet lady who wasn't from the area. A short time later, our dinners were ready and I was on my way. I'm not sure why I didn't check the food before leaving. Whenever I pick up Terri's food, they never seem to mess it up, so I trusted the process, grabbed my bags, and headed back to her place. Terri's burrito bowls looked fabulous! This time, she ordered extra protein, and there was full coverage of ground beef throughout her bowl. She saved the chicken enchiladas for later... Now, as for my tacos... THIS is the Jimboy's taco I remember eating with Dad. Crispy with every bite, plenty of ground beef from end to end, and that Parmesan cheese dusting on the outside... nailed it! These were the tacos I had been craving. And maybe it's just me being sentimental, but sitting there enjoying them brought back some really good memories. I know Dad was enjoying those tacos right along with me. The next day, Terri offered me her second burrito bowl. No lettuce or pico, which I was completely fine with. The bowl had ground beef with melted cheese on top, and underneath was rice with both pinto and kidney beans throughout. That bowl was HEFTY... and delicious! I'm glad I came back after my last experience. Visited 4/12/26 sunrise and cirby location was absolutely 100% amazing and fantastical food! Everything was fresh , absolute delight! Reminds me of the Jimboys 30 years ago! The chicken tacos were amazing! Perfect crunch on the shells and meat was moist flavorful. Signature Parmesan on the taco. Ground beef and fish tacos were a hit! Normally, a great place to eat. Today it seems that the workers are on vacation. They didn't bother to put seasoning on the fries. Not one grain of salt. The Tahoe burrito is usually great. I just picked up some tacos for dinner at the Jim Boys on Sunrise in Roseville. It had to be the worst experience, ever at this location. They used to be one of the best Franchises. The tacos were smaller than usual, completely soggy and floating in oil, they also didn't have any parmesan cheese on them. My husband and I are nauseous from the oil. The girl behind the counter was very nice, but they must have a new cook, or are under new ownership because the food was disgusting. We don't want to go back there. read more

They are next-door to the boba shop that my friends and I were at, so we stopped by here for a quick lunch after grabbing boba. I walked in with no high expectations - it is one of the spots where you order at the counter, then come pick-up your food when it is ready. I tried their steak taco and taquito. I found this amazing place on goldbelly looking for some tacos and came across this place. Wow!!! The tacos are so amazing. I ordered 12 beef tacos and for free I got 12 chicken tacos. They came frozen and nicely packed each were wrapped nice. It came with 2 big bags of lettuce and some of their famous taco sauce packets. But it didn't come with the bottle of taco sauce. Was told it was sold out and I should be getting one when they have it back. Let's hope it's true since I did pay for it. The tacos cook nicely in the oven and cone out very crispy and hot. What made them taste so good was the Parmigian cheese you sprinkle on the shell. I'm happy with my purchase. I pray I get that taco sauce bottle I was missing since they were out. A true Sacramento staple, "Jimboy's Tacos" is the type of place that every local has been to one time or another. However, it has been many, many years since I have stepped foot into one and I had to retrain my taste buds to see if this place was as good as I remembered it. I am focusing on their Roseville location which happens to be in a strip mall off of busy Cirby Way and Sunrise Ave. Considering the company itself has been around since 1954, Jimboy's has served thousands of customers from all walks of life. They currently have close to 40 locations (as of late-2019) and mostly all of them are in the Sacramento area while they have a few restaurants around the Los Angeles and Reno areas. I came here on a Wednesday evening around 7:00pm with my lovely lady as we were actually at the Roseville Automall doing some car shopping. This restaurant had a very bright and modern look with ample seating throughout. The digital menu board, self-serve salsa bar, and fountain drink station was placed conveniently in its respective areas. As I was quite hungry, I ended up ordering their popular #6 meal which consisted of two of their "Original Ground Beef Tacos" and a medium sized drink. I also ordered a "Bean & Cheese Burrito" to complete my order. Since there was hardly any customers in here at the time, my food was brought out to me in less than 5 minutes. The ground beef tacos are as delicious as I remembered them to be from well over a decade ago. The crispy shell with the dusting of Parmesan cheese is absolutely what makes these delicious. I wish they weren't so skimpy on the ground beef as the lettuce to meat ratio was at least 2 to 1. The burrito though was good as these beans were far superior than what you'd find at other fast food joints such as Del Taco & Taco Bell. Overall, "Jimboy's Tacos" is a decent and above average place to get good quality Mexican fast food. The customer service at this particular location was excellent while you definitely get what you pay for. I also wanted to add that the red & green salsas are excellent as they could compete against any authentic taqueria. All in all, a very good dining experience at the Roseville Jimboy's Tacos. PRESTON AND THE FOOD LITERALLY SAVED MY LIFE! I was having a horrible day because my wife wanted a divorce after she caught me playing Destiny 2 PvP. She told me she wanted to take everything including the kids but I couldn't let that happen. I didn't know what to do but I finally got the bright idea to take my family to eat some tacos. I didn't know where exactly to take them but then it hit me, lets go to Jimboys ! When I entered the door the first thing we saw made us fall on our knees in awe, the beautiful mustache and Beard made us think of a Greek God coming down the precipitous terrain of Mount Olympus to extricate a village from the iniquitous Titans. The physique was perfect and don't get me started on his thick watermelon crushing thighs. We went up to order and the first thing we asked for was his name. It was Preston. I personally asked for his number but he denied me because he said he was already taken by a Zain --they/them-- which I would fight to the death just to be in the presence of Prefect Preston. We finally asked for what we wanted and got our order which came out better than momma's cooking, it was delicious. When we finished my wife finally decided to stay with me for the rest of her life and said that I could play Destiny 2 PvP whenever I wanted to. Went here for lunch today and I haven't been to a jimboys in a long long time. Entered and place seemed clean and employees seem were nice and approachable. It wasn't too crowded.... They had a decent selection of food... But my coworker ordered the special which was a stuffed burrito plate which comes with rice, refried beans, and a small salad. I ordered the combination plate with two hard tacos with refried beans, rice, and a small salad. Everyday at jimboys there is a special (Monday-Sunday). My food was decent... Nothing to really get excited for. My tacos were only okay... Taco shell was greaser than normal, beans and rice was just okay.... But it's eatable and wasn't terrible. Came in here last night as a guest of someone else who likes this place. The Good: The place was clean, and the people were friendly and helpful. The orders were correct, and came out in a timely fashion. The carnitas burrito was decent BUT : The bad: GREASE ! The outside of the tortilla was very greasy. I had to wipe the whole thing off with napkins before I could hold on to it. The ingredients were decent, but, it wasn't rolled very well, and almost came apart while trying to eat it. The inside was VERY juicy, and a little greasy, and was dripping out the bottom the whole time ( not that surprising since the ends were not closed ). The ugly: N/A Overall comment: The food is an upgrade from typical fast food mexican like taco bell etc. but not as good as take out from an actual sit down restaurant. Ok, I'm hooked! They did it. Their ground beef tacos are a great fast lunch. I went to their location in Elk Grove last night and happened to drive their location in Roseville today. I immediately pulled in and ordered two beef tacos. That little bit of crumbled cheese really make them perfect. This location isn't a drive thru location but the eating area is quite nice. We came in late today around closing with a mighty appetite. Looking at the menu they have unique options that you don't see at many other Taco restaurants. The variety of drinks especially was a okay for me, flavors of Harritos I never had in Utah where I'm from. The reason I'm writing this review however is because of the kind man working today. He was so polite and friendly, giving off the best vibe. He made us feel welcomed and I wished I could've thanked him and given him more appreciation than just a thank you. This review is for him! Eating out nowadays, it's expensive so we really want to get what we pay for. 4 of us in our family ordered tacos and 2 taco salads. The taco salads were in to go containers, we were very surprised to see our taco salads made and served WITHOUT THE TACO SHELL, BEANS, ANY CHEESE. This reflects differently on what the menu described. I had to ask if the taco shell is extra now? Cashier was oblivious and when asked the owner, he too acted oblivious. Was given 2 taco bowl shells. Sat down and we realized no beans or cheese. I went up to the counter again and asked for cheese. Was given a small plastic container used for hot sauce, this was for 2 taco salads. Ridiculous that no one apologized nor put themselves out. We felt awkward and I encourage you to take your hard earned money to a business who gives you exactly what the menu reflects and not make the customer feel awkward for asking what I paid for. Customer Service isn't what it used to be. So disappointed. Attitude of entire experience was as though I was just bothering the employee. 1. I called in an order n was told that in the future, orders less than $15 needed to be made online. 2. Unless I pay cash, which can't be done online, a service fee would be charged on top of my bill. 3. When I picked up my order, I asked if they accepted tips, and was pointed to a box by the register...not even a thank you was offered for my tip. The Jimboys on Douglas has closed. My husband and I used to eat Jimboys. We enjoyed their taco burgers (my husband's favorite) and I usually got the original taco which I though they made the best tacos. However, recently when we ordered the taco burger's & regular taco, they tasted differently. I don't know if they've changed their recipe or cook but it's not worth getting anymore. One thing is the hamburger meat is often very well done & almost burnt & the taco burgers are devoid of the sauce they used to put on them which made the taco burger. If Yelp would let me give 0 stars to this restaurant, I would. I normally go to the Jimboy's in Folsom but decided to give this one a try because I was coming home from Roseville and it was on the way. I downloaded the mobile app and placed my order. When I got there, I was greeted by a cashier who asked for my name. I let her know that the app told me to present my order number and I told her what that was. She got very irritated and asked for my name again so I told her what it was. Then after handing us our bag of food, I asked for two green salsa's, a few hot salsa's and some taco sauce. Nothing crazy for a dinner for a family of four (by the way, this was a birthday dinner for my sister). She threw the sauce into a bag and very hurriedly and curtly told us thank you. Our mistake for not checking to make sure the order was right. We get home and of course, it was my sisters meal that was made incorrectly. In the mobile app, you can type 60 characters prior to it cutting you off. So this was what I requested of the taco salad (ignore the spelling error as I was trying to make it within the 60 characters so the app would accept it): Special Instructions: "no meat, guac+sour cream on side extra letuce no tomato". I call the restaurant letting them know that the order was made incorrect. Instead of the usual " Oh, I am so sorry about that. Would you like a replacement?" (which after working three years as a crew trainer in fast food is what I know is the appropriate response), the cashier has the audacity to argue with me stating that my order stated that I wanted "no meat, guac+sour cream on". I let her know that there must be some disconnect from the appt to their computer system. She then argues with me more stating that is not what she sees on the screen. I let her know that I didn't care what was on her screen and that I would come down to the restaurant (after I ate my dinner while it was hot) and show her the issue. Again, cue where normal customer service would say "no need to do that ma'am, I'll take care of it". Instead, I got a very sassy "Okay!". So, I eat my dinner; my sister scrapes all of the toppings off of hers and adds some lettuce that we had sitting in the fridge at home, and I drive back to the restaurant. When I enter, I let the same cashier know that there must be some disconnect with the app to their computer system. Again, she tells me that what I have on my app order is not what she sees on her screen. Honey, I get that. At this point, I am trying to let them know that they are going to mess up a lot of orders and should probably get it addressed. I let her know that since I had to go to the trouble to drive back just to be argued with that I would like a refund JUST for that item. Not the whole meal; literally just a $8.50 taco salad but of course she couldn't do that since "the problem with the app order is corporates problem". At this point, I'm trying to keep my cool but I'm not happy. I ask for her manager. She goes and gets her assistant manager who AGAIN tells me that what I ordered is not what they see fully on their screen. Yeah, I think we have covered that enough by this point. I let her know that I do not care what they see on their screen and that I just want a basic refund of my money. She stated again that I was going to have to take that up with corporate since it was their problem. I let her know it wasn't like I was asking for another taco salad since my sister did eat what she had (I made sure to bring back the toppings that she had to scrape off) and this lady literally told me that she wouldn't be able to give me a new taco salad anyways since I didn't bring back anything for her to replace it with anyways. Okay guys, at this point I am livid and I let her know that I was highly dissatisfied with the service of her cashier being rude, sassy, and frankly clearly not enjoying her job. All I wanted was a refund. Instead of getting a refund (or even just a replacement taco salad at the minimum), I was told that I could waste more gas to go out of my way to speak with the manager tomorrow morning. This is my first Yelp review as I normally do not do them. Mistakes happen. No big deal. But every other restaurant would have just apologized and fixed the mistake with no questions asked. I love Jimboy's but I sure as hell will not be eating at this location again. And honestly, I may not eat at another Jimboy's if every mistake on the app is going to be corporate's problem and I am just going to be treated like the employees don't even care. Jimboy's, you may want to evaluate your staff and give them some free customer service courses or you may lose a lot of business since they don't seem to care if they make an order wrong because there is a disconnect with the app and their computer system. read more
