My wife and I dined at Jimm's tonight for the first time ever. The service was 5 stars, the experience was 5 stars, and the food (from appetizers to dessert) was 5 stars! Jimm's is an expensive, high class restaurant that is very intricate, detailed, and worth every penny spent. I would recommend this restaurant over very many other restaurants. My husband and I were in town for our anniversary and kinda happened upon this place. We were seated quickly and couldn't have asked for a better server, Jill was her name. She had a great personality and gave us tips on things to see in the area, told us her favorites on the menu, and treated us to a free cheesecake when she heard it was our anniversary. Is it weird that I love coming here for the service even more than I do for the food? Every time I go to Jimm's, the service is absolutely impeccable. Whether during peak hours when they are absolutely slammed, or when you're the last table of the night and your server makes you want to stay longer instead of rushing you out, Jimm's has surpassed expectations. While I do appreciate that they ask you to cut into your steak to see if it is prepared perfectly, I'm too awkward to say anything when it isn't. Maybe I'm just not that picky because I know how busy it can get and nothing has ever been atrociously over/ undercooked, but it's still always enjoyable. Happy Hour specials are great for the appetizers (all $5 if I remember correctly), so give them a try in the earlier hours if the price seems steep. read more

Outstanding service. The waitress was very attentive, constantly checking in to see how I was doing. I really liked the atmosphere. The interior was filled with warm, soft lighting, with a candle at every table. The booth I had was in a nice quiet area, despite the fact that this was during the busy lunch period (and the parking lot was packed). They emphasize quality over quantity here, which is fine. You're not getting a stacked plate, but the food is good. I got the prime rib sandwich, and it was delicious. However, I could see how some might find the servings a bit light. As a woman of many words, it should say something that the only thing I can think to properly review Jimm's is this: Spend the money. Eat the food. Dream of the day you can return and repeat. Things we ate: Hawaiian sirloin (the BEST marinade, cooked to perfection, even LOOKED beautiful), 7 oz lobster tail (dipping butter was beyond indulgent), prime rib (marbled and tender with savory au jus). Brûléed cheesecake was warm and custardy with a nice crispy exterior... Again: spend the money. Eat the food. Leave with a tighter waistband and zero regret. read more

Overall I would give this place a good recommendation, BUT I doubt I will ever go back. Not because of the food or the staff; both were above par. The reasons: 1) we waited over 30 minutes at 5pm on a Tuesday!! 2) the entire place reminds me of that restaurant that got torched in Goodfellas - it needs a SERIOUS remodeling. Went there the other day for a lunch with my wife. The server was apathetic at best. Prompt, yes, but friendly, no. I ordered the BLT and she ordered a French dip. I also asked that a cup of French onion soup he added. The BLT was so dry and the flatbread it was served on was cold. The meat on the French dip was very over cooked for that type of sandwich. The French onion soup was like eating a salt lick. That was the only flavor in it. When the bill came, the waiter had charged me for a bowl of soup rather than the up charge to add it to a lunch sandwich that the menu said. I paid the bill without complaint but the whole experience left me unimpressed. I won't go back. There are many newer restaurants in Springfield with better service, better quality food, and for comparable or even lesser prices. read more

Wow super disappointed. At one time this was a great place. Today was worse than any fast food restaurant. Once our waitress left our food we did not see her for 25 minutes. My wife order the steak tips cooked medium. They were horrible, it was like they took stew meat and boiled it, but not long enough for it to be tender, it was tough and chewy, she tried 3 pieces and then left the rest on the plate. I order the prime rib sandwich with fries. The fires were still cold and raw in the middle and they were bag fries like you buy at Sam's Club, not steak fries. I have had fresher and better shaved prime rib at an Arby's. After 25 minutes the waitress brought as the check, I asked "aren't you going to ask as how our meal was, you haven't come back since you brought it " she rudely asked how it was, I told her the fries weren't cooked and the steak tips were not medium and were uneidable, her response " you should have told me sooner and walked away" she come back put the credit card receipt and said "since I was so busy, you don't have to tip me" fact is she wasn't busy. We saw 3 other wait staff that were very attentive to their tables. I recommend any where else in town.$45 for lunch for horrible food and service. read more

However, while trying to book a dinner function for my business I was told they only will book a reservation for 6 and I needed a reservation for 10. I was willing to book the reservation well in advance to allow them to reserve a room if needed but I was told that wasn't an option. Guess I will spend my $1500 at Houlihans. To the management of Jimm's Steakhouse, what a bad decision and poor business practice, to the public don't book a work function at Jimm's and to Houlihans, thank you as you congratulations became my new "go-to" for my business functions. read more

The service and atmosphere here are absolutely wonderful! My husband and I went for Valentine's Day lunch, and our waiter was so friendly! He kept checking in and making sure we were doing fine with our wait, (obviously they were busy, it was Valentine's!) my steak came back a little more done than I asked for, but they were quick and eager to take it back. Once they brought out my second steak, it was cooked perfectly, just the way I liked! Unfortunately I can not remember the name of the two gentlemen serving us, but they were both so thoughtful and nice. It was our first time being there and because of those two, we will be back again! I wasn't even bothered that my first steak wasn't cooked properly. I have ate here several times and it has always been a good experience until now. I called 11 days in advance and made a reservation for 6pm. Around 3pm the day of the reservation I called to confirm my reservation and they had lost it. The man on the phone was extremely rude and condescending on the phone, but did tell me he would put me down for 6. When I arrived I spoke to a manager and told him what happened and showed his my call log from where I made the reservations. He apologized and assured me this would never happen again. I ordered the bourbon glaze KC steak. My salad was good, potato was excellent, but my steak was horrible. The steak was cooked medium rare as ordered, but was very dry and tough. This was not a dry aged steak. It was sold to me as a juicy steak that was marinated overnight. It had absolutely no moisture other than the glaze on the outside. Considering they lost my reservation, was rude on the phone, and the steak was horrible, I will no longer recommended Jim's Steak house. When you pay $40 for a steak, you expect it to be minimum of average quality, this steak was poor. As of September 2023, something has changed and the restaurant has gone downhill. read more

Jimm's does a great job. Their food is consistently good and for the money, you simply can't beat it. They have good steaks and a great salad bar. I've recently had their filet and a sirloin and wedge salad. The steaks are always cooked perfectly and the waiters will ask for you to confirm when they bring the meal. I also think the service is what sets Jimm's apart. Many of their waiters/waitresses have been there for many years. They know how to treat customers. If you want a solid meal without dropping a ton, they are hard to beat. read more

First of all, when I imagine a steakhouse, I imagine steakhouse prices. Not dishes that cost $20 and under. So first flag for me. Fortunately for them, I was balling on a budget this day, so I chose to eat here, and I am aware. Looked at the menu before I went there and looked at pictures on yelp and thought the cajun chicken pasta would be a good choice.....I was wrong. The cajun chicken pasta was just....not it for me. Where is the seasoning? The sauce wasn't even the slightest spicy or "cajun" and tasted watered down. It tasted bland and like it had no real "cajun" seasoning to it. The chicken wasn't even done as well as it should have been. It literally tasted (unseasoned, again) like they had just put it on the grill for 5 minutes and taken it off. Not really grilled though. So the dish as a whole was not good to me and was very mid (aka not great or good, but tolerable). Only reason they have 2 starts instead of 1 is because the bread was good. The bread. We have eaten at Jimm's several times and love this place. I made reservations on 6-25-21 to come in for dinner on 6-26-21. Our reservations were for 430. We arrived on time and went to check in. The man that was taking names proceeded to ask me if we could be done in an hour and 15 mins because they already had it reserved after us. I thought this was extremely rude. We were happy to be there and ready for a good meal as we have always had there. This changed our moods right away and we felt rushed to hurry and eat. However our waitress, Jill, was great!
