Had lunch there today with two friends and yes they were freaky fast. Sandwiches were ordered and no sooner had we ordered and they were done and giving them to us. We even forgot to add extra cheese and bacon to a sandwich and they gave it to us after we had already paid. They were polite and fast with service as far as the employees went. All in all a nice dining experience for a quick lunch. They are a solid 4 star place to go. read more

We are running a summer program for students and needed a few extra lunches; I called beforehand to make sure they'd deliver to out location and they confirmed. After we got the students orders and called and made the order (again confirming they would deliver to us), they called back 15 minutes later and said they wouldn't deliver to our location. Ordered online for pickup - it was "freaky fast" as advertised. My #5 Vito was right next to the register when i arrived. Even though my interaction was brief, the staff was extremely friendly. My sandwich was pretty tasty, and the vegetables on it were fresh. read more

Jimmy Johns in theory is always 5 stars. I'm from the Midwest and its the best. I'm just confused as to why its so hard to train Jimmy Johns employees outside of the Midwest. At the end of the line the sandwich makers get beyond confused when you order more than one sandwich which negates any chance of freaky fast service. Then they feel the need to yell out the sandwich order even when you are the only one and you are standing right there. Social cues? But the worst...when I order hot peppers and pay for hot peppers I expect to actually have hot peppers on my sandwich. #sadface read more

The food here is awesome! However have had some issues with delivery orders. Sometimes the orders are incorrect, and other times the orders have taken way too long. The last time we just cancelled our order after waiting 90 minutes. Not great customer service depending who's answering the phone. However, I will say the manager is very efficient in following up with issues and concerns and she truly seems to be working to make it a great location, in all aspects. read more

The sandwich is fine, it's a sandwich. But Jimmy Johns can never remember to add the extras that you have to pay for, like the hot peppers. God forbid you call to complain, the employee stated: "Yeah, sometimes we forget when it's busy. Do you want a refund for a quarter?" Classy people. Classy. I'd read all the buzz about this place when it was being built and after it opened, and read all the buzz about how great the sandwiches are, so when it came time for lunch today, my best girl and I happened to be passing through Ballston, so I suggested that we try JJ's. BIG disappointment. First off, the bread was a "white bread" sub roll, and was completely nondescript and tasteless. My wife had the #4 "Turkey Tom" and commented "this isn't 'fresh sliced turkey breast'" as it says on the menu, it's just pre-sliced deli turkey. I had the J.J. Gargantuan, which *was* pretty stuffed with various meats, but it tasted overwhelmingly like mayonnaise (as did the turkey sandwich). I think their tagline should be 'would you like a sandwich with your mayo?' Bottom line is that we were completely unimpressed with our sandwiches, and the next time we're in the mood for something similar, we'll go to Subway, where there's a choice of bread (and it's warm) and you can choose exactly which toppings you want (and NO mayo). The other odd thing here is that for some reason they more or less hide the napkins. While we were sitting there, without exception, everybody who ordered had to ask where the napkins were (spoiler alert-you'll find them in the spot where you pick up your sandwich, tucked behind that little counter). read more

While I love Jimmy John's sandwiches, this location seems like they need a tutorial on reading. I order online and pick up here. The online ordering system prints all the additions and subtractions on the ticket... But they messed up a sandwich twice. Not so fast if you have to come back and they still mess it up. This is a sandwich shop. Just a sandwich shop. The counter staff are very nice and friendly but there is nothing special about the sandwiches. They are certainly not "The World's Greatest Gourmet Sandwiches" as their slogan says (unless smearing avocado on the bread makes it gourmet). I bought a sandwich last night--one of the so-called gourmet sandwiches--and it was spectacularly disappointing, not because it was a really bad sandwich, but because it was a boring sandwich and so over-sold. It was a perfectly average turkey and provolone with avocado on a white sub roll with a tomato and some shredded lettuce and mayo. Not even a toasted roll. No interesting spreads or unusual toppings. I bought a Italian sub on 21 Aug 2012 at 9:15 PM. When I arrived back on base and showered up, it was past closing. When I opened the bag it was a Tuna Sub (not even close) but my receipt said Italian. The next day I returned around 5 PM, my earliest possible time and explained what happened. The Manager/Owner??? Jessica Wright, blonde Caucasian female, late 20's refused to correct the problem by making me the correct sandwich, saying she wouldn't do it without the Tuna sub which I threw in the trash the night before. The sub would have had to stay in my car all day with an outside temperature of 90 + degrees. She said I should have called. I explained the closing issue and they are not open when I go to work. This place has seriously gone downhill. The people that work there now are awful. They screw up something every time. Either the sandwich is made wrong, it takes over an hour for delivery, they forget half the stuff you order, etc. If you call to complain they are rude, careless, and blame someone else (if trying to blame you doesn't work). Ordering online was easy, however they do not deliver to my area (even though I work less than 3 miles away from JJ). My first time trying Jimmy Johns and I was highly disappointed. I ordered the Beach Club #12, a pickle and a bag of salt & vinegar chips. The best part of the meal was the chips and pickle. The sandwich was bland and dry. I've never had such a tasteless sandwich before in my life. I will never order a sandwich from there again! The salt and vinegar chips were awesome! read more

If first impressions are everything, this place is in trouble. My tag line lets you know I don't just come here to vent. That said, I also let a place know when they've come up short. My first visit to Jimmy John's on Quincy and the place was empty except for the staff. Somehow though, they were out of their bread and only had sub rolls. I should have walked then. I got three sandwiches. Two of the three had enough mayo for three more sandwiches. My tuna dripped all over the place like I was wringing out a beach towel. My wife's beach club was missing a few items listed in the description and my mom's BLT was on a sub, not toast as she preferred. There was a guy who was sitting in a booth who looked like an owner/manager type. He didn't seem too concerned that they were out of one of their two bread options. I would have been, especially in a brand new place. The cost was the only thing I was happy with. There are just too many sandwich options for a new place to miss on so many items. I will give them another shot once they knock the rust off but they really need to get things in order because a lot of people won't give them that second chance. read more

First... Jimmy John's in general... My biggest complaint is the unfortunate lack of any real vegetarian options. An estimated 15% of the general population is either vegetarian or vegan. I'm vegetarian. I first encountered Jimmy John's in Orlando and it has become a bit of a go to for me when I'm visiting my office in Florida. The JJ's in Florida isn't too bad... I'd probably give it 4 YelpStars... The Jimmy John's in Ballston, however, is much different than the Jimmy John's I've been used to. When they first opened, service was fairly good, and the sandwiches were pretty generous. Over the last few months, it's been the exception, rather than the rule, when my order has actually been correct (completely missing pickle... no hot peppers on my sandwich... etc)... Service here is pretty poor by comparison to the JJ's I've been to in the past. The JJ's in McLean is about the same, honestly. I've pretty much stopped eating here... read more
