Jersey Mike's is my favorite sandwich chain, and the Falls Church location on W. Broad Street is my go-to. That's exactly why I'm taking the time to write this. I placed an online order on the evening of 4/21 for my usual -- a Giant #3 with extra meat -- and arrived a few minutes early, which gave me a clear view of the whole process. What I saw was disappointing. The bread was cut incorrectly -- not lengthwise down the center but more like one-third on the bottom and two-thirds on top. That kind of cut doesn't hold up, and by the time the oil was added, the thin bottom half was already soggy. I also don't believe I received the extra meat I paid for. The toppings were applied carelessly -- lettuce scattered across the counter, and the oil and vinegar were poured so haphazardly that the wrapping paper was soaked through before they even got to cutting the sandwich. I'm not writing this to be harsh. I'm writing it because I've always admired this location and would hate to see it slip into the kind of mediocrity that has hurt other spots in the chain. It was clear to anyone watching that neither of these two employees had much investment in the product they were putting in front of the customer. Ordering: Yes, they were very busy at lunchtime with mostly mobile or delivery orders. But I ordered quickly and watched as my sandwich was being made (extra mayo). I paid at the register and went to get a drink from the fountain. When I turned around, I didn't see my sandwich. I waited a few seconds then asked where my sandwich was. The lady who rang me up looked around cluelessly, like some sort of magic trick was performed. The guy whose only job was to wrap sandwiches said nothing with a weird smile on his face. The guy who made my sandwich, I know he made it, I saw him do it... was confused because he certainly handed off the sandwich down the line. I could barely understand the cashier say they'd make me another one. How does a sandwich just vanish? Coulda been them putting my sandwich in one of the to-go bags, coulda been a random overzealous customer, but it was literally seconds, and it was gone. Anyway. Sandwich: This is the worst experience I've had with this chain, so location makes a difference. Now that I am thinking about it, I may have gone here once before and wondered what the hype was all about... having had it in Maine, it's a world of difference. Meh. This Jersey Mike's isn't one of the best. Location is super busy at lunchtime and has a long line, so beware. I always place orders on mobile, though, and I will say service here was fast. The parking lot at Birch and Broad is also a bit of a nightmare, but that isn't their fault. Staff is friendly. My main issue was the sandwiches themselves. They had almost no toppings or sauce. Got two basically plain and dry turkey and cheese sandwiches. Way stingier than other locations or even Subway. I have had better luck at the Dunn Loring location, and on Old Keene Mill Rd. read more

I hadn't been here in awhile and Jersey Mike's is as solid as ever. The sandwiches are always fresh and have the correct toppings. Staff is friendly and service is fast. You can't ask for more than that from a sandwich place. I'll be back here again for sure. read more

Solid jersey mikes- they do delivery well and they make sandwiches pretty well. Bathrooms are a bit grimy but wait staff is great. Sandwiches are solid, though they do over do it a bit on the vinegar so If your drive home is more than 5-10 minutes, your sandwich will be a bit soggy. read more

This has been my go-to location since it is near my apartment. Having ordered there at least a dozen times, I am quite happy with their speed of service, quality of food, and cleanliness of the restaurant. One one occasion, I ordered about an hour before close and I got home to a sandwich that was basically between two slices of crouton. Probably an end-of-day problem, but I still feel there should have been better quality control by the young man making the sandwich. Otherwise, a great location. 4/5, would recommend. I came in to get a sandwich this morning a little bit before 11 o'clock. There were four people working and me and one other customer in the restaurant. He was ordering eight subs for a group. When I came in, no one said a word to me, or made eye contact with me. I waited patiently, but never got service of any kind. I stood there and waited for between 5 to 7 minutes. I decided to find somewhere else to get lunch. I would think with a two to one employee to customer ratio that I would've gotten some kind of service. But nothing - No eye contact, no "we'll be right with you, sir", nothing. read more

On two different occasions, they failed to put bacon on the sub. It may not sound like a big deal but these sandwiches are not cheap. If I wanted a sub without bacon, I would have chosen a different sandwich from their menu and saved some money. Make the sub that I actually ordered; that is not an unreasonable request. read more

Ordered via the app (Apple Pay support!) for the first time. Showed up early and did not have to wait long for my order to be ready. The team has consistently been polite and professional over multiple visits. Bread was great and the classic Philly steak (sans onions or peppers) was delicious. Skipped the usual chips and got the brownie to go - very chocolatey. Can't believe I've missed out for so many years to check them out but now they are one of my regular places to go. read more

A man by the name of "Toast" made me a delicious tomato and ketchup salami sandwich. I will definitely return to this establishment.

I don't know who they've bribed to get even a fair review for this place or if people are just accepting the dirtiest of places and the poorest of service as the new standard. i took my family to this place and what we found a filthy place with sucky tables and floors. when we arrived there were zero customers and three out of the four employees were huddled around a table with a computer waisting time instead of making the place welcoming. We had to ask two people to clean the table and neither did a good job. I am also at a loss as to why they ask what you want on your sandwich because they did anything but what we asked. I ordered a steak sandwich to be picked up at 7:30 pm got to the store at 7:10 and the sandwich was ready (I should have suspected something, but was hungry and tired and wanted to get home). . I live less than 5 min from the store. The sandwich was COLD (not lukewarm - cold). It was made much too early. I have had generally good experiences at this new Jersey Mikes, except for today. Because I'm a vegan they only have one sub that I can eat, and each time they've made it for me but today they charged me too much and I couldn't get them to change it. I ordered the vegetarian sub grilled with mushrooms grilled peppers and onions on a regular size sub. No meat. No cheese. They charged me $8.25. When I asked why, the woman said she didn't know, that's what it rang up as. She asked someone else and someone told her she should have rung it up differently, as a number 14. She shrugged her shoulders and said oh well. And then walked away. I just left. It was not worth fighting about it when there were people also waiting to pay. But I won't go to this location again. Also, this employee was the only one not wearing a mask. She continually rubbed her nose with her gloves hands. So I chose not to use the plastic top of the cup she handed me. Why is the manager not requiring proper health measures for all employees? It was good to see that the people making the food were wearing masks and gloves. read more

Awful awful service. Ordered 3 hot sandwiches, order went through without a problem. Went to go pick them up, made sure I had the right order and went home without any acknowledgement from any employee. Got home opened the sandwiches, every single one was wrong, not even remotely right. They gave us a completely random sandwich because they said they didn't have #19 at this location but there was no attempt of contact. This is MAJOR concern in regards to serious food allergies. VERY disappointed with the lack of care at this location, won't be returning. Other locations will suffice! read more

I was excited to see a Jersey Mikes in the city and decided to grab a sub on the way home. I entered to find 8ish employees all standing around with no customers which I though no big deal, they're just training. I got the large steak and cheese and was asked what else I'd like in the sub. I asked for typical add ons (mushroom, pickles, lettuce, etc.) unfortunately I got home to find their standard steak and cheese with nothing I asked to be added. Considering how many people they had working it's a shame they couldn't communicate. Not a great impression considering the price. read more

Awesome service. Small store though that is my opinion though. The staff works really fast on the cold subs but little slow on hot subs. But i totally understand the restaurant has new staff that are in training. Plus it helps to bring other staff from other stores helps a lot as well. Good sandwiches but the customer service is really f*d up. It was girls night and my senior citizen mom and I did an online order and just ran in real quick to pick it up and the staff didn't tell us we needed to pick out our chips and they weren't in the tapped shut bag. Got home and no chips so was just called to just cancel. Mom calls and the the person is yelling into the phone and they're is a load screeching noise and they couldn't find our order after giving them the number 3 times. Finally decided to run back because at that point will they really give us our chips the next time like they said. I got there and get the chips and the worker start going off about my mom. And he knew it was the daughter coming to pick up chips. WTF!? He told me I needed to co from my mother which is sooooo ageist and sexist. I think I was the closest to hitting someone I've been to in a long time. Also, they gave us the wrong bread on our sandwiches. I think I'll skip them go awhile. read more
