Nothing but good things to say about JJ. They are reliable. Service is outstanding. I've eaten from this location more times than I have checked in. Ordering through the drive thru is simple. There's something for everyone on the menu and the menu isn't overwhelming.They always get my order right. My drink is usually ready by the time I pull up to the window and my sandwich completed within a minute. If you're in a rush to grab lunch this is the quickest drive thru in the EC. Period. Every company/client I have worked for in the EC uses this location to cater lunch. Never any complaints. Good variety of sandwiches. I also love their chips and cookies. The only thing I wish is that a pickle came included with your meal. I don't mind paying for it but I often forget. Also, you need to be careful pulling out of the drive thru. The lane does both ways and the strips are really busy around lunch. The #12 + salt and vinegar chips + root beer soda is my go to. read more

I can't prove it because there was somebody else working back there, but the gloves looked dirty. Too much to ask, which was a #9 and a #5 -- no changes to the sandwiches mind you. She called in support from her supervisor. Sometimes they're fast. Usually they're not. It has been over an hour since I placed my online order and I'm still waiting. The employees in store are also not very friendly when you go in person and are very vague when you call to check on delivery orders saying, "the driver left 50 minutes ago and should be there any minute." Although they never asked my name or order to give me an accurate ETA. Just a vague answer to get my off the phone. Note: I'm less than a mile away. In the past when I've ordered online they've sometimes forgotten items such as chips or the drink and I've had to wait another hour for them to correct it. It's not even worth it anymore to pay the delivery fee and tip. EDIT: I gave delivery another chance about 2 weeks later and this time it was even worse. It took an hour and a half for the order to be delivered. And just like last time, the ice in the drink completely melted, and watered down the soda. I tried calling the store a few times to check on the delivery status and I swear they probably blocked me. After a few calls I couldn't dial through at all!! So I tried to call corporate to get in touch with the store to cancel my over due order and they also didn't answer the phone. Ok. So no delivery. On my way by I decided to try drive-thru, and it too, was not a good experience. I pulled up to the intercom and the lady said she'd be right with me. No one in front of me and outside of lunch hours. I waited a few minutes in 91 degree heat with my window down and she never came back. I spoke up and she gave me the welcome to JJs message again. So I decided to start ordering and the whole time she was rushing me through my sandwich order. I wanted to make some modifications and she kept cutting me off. Whatever. We got through it. I pulled up to the window to pay AND SHE ASKED ME IF I WANTED TO TIP!? Since when does that happen at drive-thrus? The ONLY pro to this whole review is that I'll be moving in a few days. I recently returned from a trip to Nashville, TN, where I discovered Bellacino's delicious oven-baked "Grinder" sandwiches. I raved about them in a Yelp review which prompted fellow Yelper, Cory O, to ask whether I'd tried Jimmy John's. I hadn't but her query made me remember that a new Jimmy John's had just opened a few weeks ago in my neck of the woods on the West side. I stopped by just before noon today to check it out. It was empty and all three employees seemed very happy to see me. They recommended their "Italian Night Club" sandwich, but I decided to try their "Billy Club" instead. Their menu is essentially divided into two sections: (1) the 8" sub sandwiches (six choices), and (2) the equally long giant club sandwiches that, for a buck more, boast considerably larger girth (ten choices). All their sandwiches feature their homemade French bread. I waited just a blink of an eye before my order was ready and I took it home. On arrival, I whipped out my big billy club and offered it to my wife. She wasn't in the mood so I was left to my own devices. First, I wanted to see if they delivered the goods as advertised. A check with a measuring stick validated their length claims - I had my hands full with its 8-1/4 inches. It was very tasty. The beef, ham and provolone cheese on a bed of lettuce and tomato were delicious. The French bread was very fresh. The bit of Dijon mustard that oozed into my mouth added the requisite touch of succulent pizazz. If you're just comparing cold fare, Jimmy John's is a step up from Quizno's and Subway. Unfortunately, they don't offer toasted or roasted sandwiches. I prefer some heat on my palate, so, for me, Jimmy John's is going to become a solid back-up to Subway when I'm looking for a change of pace. read more

Looking for 8" of tasty meat legally? Jimmy John's is your ticket. They cleverly size the length of their subs between the typical sizes of Subway and Quiznos, so if you are tired of an average 6' of meat you'll be happy; if you're lusting for 12" you may be dissapointed. Overall, an excellent sandwich quickly served at a good value price. The veggie sub has got a nice assortment of veggies on their fresh and very tasty french sub bread. The Italian combo - shock of shocks - actually tasted like a traditional Italian sub!! This was far better than the bland flavorless counterpart at Subway or Quiznos. Right now Subway (which has slid in quality IMHO) and Quiznos (which was never all that terrific) are more common and easier for me to get to. But I will make it a point to get to a Jimmy John's sub place if my travels take me within reasonable commute, like they did today. Good stuff! I'd really like a JJ baseball cap, too. read more

Yeah, I know this is a big chain but they're obviously doing something right to keep expanding. This place is the only sub shop I go to down in Houston. Their Italian Night Club and the Club Tuna are my regular choices. Pretty much everything they make is good and definitely not good for you. They have a row of extra large Hellman's mayo jars prominently displayed on their back shelf. The subs are also made rather quickly, but I've never been there for their lunch rush because I'm probably still sleeping when it happens (night job hey-o)! If I could give an extra star for their one dollar sub days I would. Then I'd give another star for the music they play, usually of the rock persuasion. This place rules. read more

Excellent sandwiches!!! From the moment you walk in the door you are hooked. The aroma of fresh bread is amazing! Your order is completed just as soon as you pay for it. I can never get my receipt and head to the drink station before my sandwich is ready for me to eat! Friendly staff that greets you when you walk in and thanks you when you walk out. Terrible customer service. Hours posted say they close at 10PM. Called at 9:15PM for delivery and employee said they don't deliver after 9PM but the lobby stays open until 10PM if I wanted to come in. I hung up and literally called back 25 seconds later to put in the order for pick-up instead. A different employee answered and said they closed at 9PM and they are already shut down for the night. I told him the other guy I JUST talked to said the lobby closes at 10PM. He told me that guy didn't know what he was talking about and they close at 9. Employees are rude and don't want business. I've had their Beach Club, Big John, and Italian Night Club (I think I have the names right) - all of which were very tasty. Their bread is what determines if you're a fan or not. So I decided to try them out for the 1st time on their "Customer Appreciation Day" where they had select sandwiches for $1....unfortunately those that were an option (#1-6) are not very exciting sandwiches with only 1 kind of meat and do not include cheese unless you pay extra (lame). I was very underwhelmed with my sandwich (Turkey Tom), lacks any sort of flavor, even though I added Dijon mustard, add to that, Hellman's Mayo is used...which I detest. And why do I have to request for it to be cut in half?? It's safe to say this will be my 1st and last JJ experience. I'll continue to frequent Jersey Mike's and Which Wich. Subs so fast you'll literally freak. I love this location. Great service and very clean. The best thing about Jimmy John's is they offer any of their sandwiches as an unwich (lettuce wrap instead of bread). The lettuce is so fresh and they leave a little water on it so you don't need the condiments... You can drop the mayo with no regrets. read more

Been to several Jimmy Johns places; now I work near this one on Eldridge. Simple order - ham, swiss, mustard, lettuce, tomatoes on white bread. The guy taking orders cannot understand English! I had to repeat each of the ingredients 3 times, the third time was getting silly so I spoke vverryyyyy slllowwwwllyyyyy. I do not slur or speak fast - I am a southern boy, not a New Yorker - we take our time saying everything. No swiss cheese - provolone only. And I got a sub sandwich; I just wanted a sandwich, not a sub. I never said sub, I said " on white bread". He did not understand the idiomatic difference between "white sub roll" and "white bread". For my entire life, white bread has meant white sandwich bread, not "white sub". Go somewhere else unless you like sandwich surprise, as in "you get what we want to give you" instead of what you ordered. I will not return even though its a 5 minute walk from my office. If they cannot understand "ham and cheese on white bread" they need to go into another line of work. The guy at the register has sub-par "English as a second language" speaking and listening skills. I will never order from this location again. Ordered my sandwich online where I have to put all my info in case they need to contact me for any reason. They happened to be busy, but do you think I got a phone call absolutely not. My work is only 2 minutes from this store and it took well over an hour for my sandwich to get to me. They never called to tell me they were busy and that it would take a little more time than usual or apologize for the long wait time. The sandwiches here are usually good but, its the service and delivery that is a problem. This is the nearest location to me so we use it often. I have experienced forgotten items on order, which i was charged for, terrible delivery service that gets lost and just returns to store. If your in the business of delivering food and especially to a good regular customer, make sure your drivers have GPS on their phone or printed directions. No one wants a warm soggy sandwich. i absolutely love JJ's. after my first trip here during the summer, i returned, on average, about 4 more times that week and at least once a week for the next few weeks. I'm in love with their tuna salad unwhiched. when you order unwhich, they actually wrap your order in lettuce wraps as opposed to tossing it between bread. it's a healthier option. for me, my go to favorite has always been their #3 tuna salad unwhiched paired with salt and vinegar chips. it hits the spot. their beach club is also a good healthy option. and I do believe that JJ is FAR superior to subway, quiznos, or even whichwich, IMHO of course. :) check it out! you won't be disappointed! read more

My wife is on a short term contract in Houston close to this Jimmy Johns. While visiting her on the weekend I thought it would be nice before I left to head home to get her a couple of sandwiches from this location so wouldn't have to cook dinner and would have something for lunch the next day. The second sandwich was made incorrectly with an ingredient my wife cannot eat so she tried to take it back the next day to have it remade. The store manager Zak refused to remake the sandwich because my wife didn't have the receipt, she explained that I had made the purchased and had taken the receipt with me when I had left town. When she questioned them about the policy she was told she could have purchased that sandwich at any JJ's location, she then asked what nefarious purpose it would serve for her to return the sandwich to some other location the manager became rude and basically called her a liar about purchasing the sandwich. I called the store and spoke with Zak and again explained the sandwich was made wrong and I had the receipt and asked him to remake the sandwich correctly for my wife, I got the same reply as my wife so I asked for the corporate number which is 800-546-6906 if anyone else needs it. I called up the corporate location and was directed to the correct person to talk to, I explained the situation and they took my contact info saying someone would be in touch shortly. One week later I had to call back as I hadn't heard back and they checked to make sure that they had the correct contact info, which they did, and again said that someone would be in touch. One week later (two weeks now) I had to call back yet again and was told someone would call me back. A few hours later the regional manager called me back and it was like talking to Zak the Store manager all over again...didn't care about the way my wife was treated, didn't care about the sandwich being made incorrectly and certainly didn't care that he was losing a customer. Isn't it amazing how places love touting their customer service skils but cant resolve the simplest issues fairly? So to sum up if they make your sandwich right then you will probably enjoy it but if there is a problem be prepared to be called a liar, to repeatedly have call an 800 number and for your problem to be ignored at all levels. read more

I've always enjoyed Jimmy John's, and used to prefer this location, but it has gone down hill. I made a delivery order today, and received a series of complications. First of all, there was a huge accent barrier with the order taker, to the point I hung up to call another location (where I experienced the same issue) Secondly, upon making an online delivery order due to accent barrier with order taker, my order was delivered incorrectly, and specific instructions not to knock (as I had a sleeping baby) were ignored. Maybe this too was due to language barrier? After calling the store immediately, the GM advised me to "look between the bread" for un-included (but paid for) items. As if this were my first time eating a sandwich. The manager told me my correct order would be sent out and promptly hung up on me, and my correct order was delivered 40 minutes later where, again the specific instructions not to knock were ignored by the female driver, who was on her phone during sandwich exchange.
