I went into Jimmy Johns at the lake Forrest location Sunday 8/6 at approximately 1:15 PM to get a giant Spicy Italian with extra peppers. First, it took the employees (3 of them working) over 5 minutes for them to get my order due to a phone call, which is understandable. I worked in the restaurant business for over 10 years and know how it is to work during a weekend lunch rush. I realized they were busy, so I was polite and even tipped a few extra bucks to show my gratitude for them. They got my order and checked me out. So then it was time to wait for my sandwich that never came. I lasted a whole 45 minutes in the establishment, waiting patiently for my easy to make cold cut sandwich, which shouldn't take more than a few minutes to make. Before I decided to call it quits. I could visibly see the other patrons in the restaurant were absolutely in lost that they were taking orders and not making any food for the people that were dining in. One gentleman who came 20 minutes after me got his sandwich because he was vocal and looked like he was going to explode. He repeatedly said "this place is a fucken joke" Which I happen to agree with him. I still decided to wait for my sandwich. Around 40 minutes in waiting for my sandwich on my day off I decided to call it quits and ask for a refund. This was due to one of your employees slamming the phone repeatedly on the line to hang it up. That was uncomfortable for everyone in the establishment. I decided to refund my order along with a chain reaction of others customers. This was by far the worst eating out expirence I've ever had in my life, and that's including fast food establishments. It's embarrassing that Jimmy John's a huge chain sandwhich shop leaves a group of incompetent employees without Manger to run that location. Definitely not a good look for Jimmy John's. I do enjoy your sandwiches, but this last expirence was inexcusable. read more

We ordered at the front counter and paid for our meals there. Then after they called my name I picked up our meals. My Entrée: #5 Perfect Italian Combo Meal; Salami, provolone cheese, with lettuce & tomato. included; potato chips and a diet soda. For me the taste was just okay. Diana had; #1 Ham & Provolone Combo meal; Ham, provolone cheese with tomato & lettuce. sides; potato chips & drink. Diana said that she liked the sandwich. She also drank a diet soda. I ordered a BLT sandwich from this store today. I ordered extra bacon for $2.49. So I called and asked how many slices of bacon was in a normal sandwich and she said four. I said I ordered extra bacon and only got five slices. She said that she had put six slices on it. I said that there were only five slices because I had taken them off to cook in the microwave so I knew how many slices there were. So I said you charged me 2.49 for one extra slice of bacon. Even if she would have put two slices on that's a lot of money for two slices of bacon. The only good thing about the sandwich was the bread. read more

This place is time and time again too slow. Their slogan is supposed to be "subs so fast, you'll freak" but even if we order ahead of time, the subs are never ready. But what is making me write a review this time is that we placed an online order an hour before showing up, and when we got there, they still had not started making the subs. And then we still had to wait another 20 minutes for 3 subs. The workers seem to be working hard, but they're understaffed and don't seem to have appropriate direction on how to prioritize the online orders. Someone there had also placed a 7:30am online order to be picked up at 11:30am and it had not been started. Hoping management will see this to help improve their store. read more

This Jimmy John's is the worst. On Google and the corporate website it says they close at 9pm I ordered catering pack because we are a family of seven. Order was placed at 8pm on the dot. Went to pick up and they were closed by 8:13pm not one single person there. I had to call the next day since no one decided to reach out to me and the General Manager told me they close at 8pm. I brought up two concerns that had someone was there at 8pm why didn't I get a courtesy call about my order and offer of refund? Was anyone there at 8pm or did everyone leave early? She proceeded to tell me she couldn't do a refund because it wasn't the same day the transaction was done and had to "email someone and would get back to me in a couple of days" I get a text two days later not a call saying she still hasn't heard from anyone and gave me her district managers email jonathan.ball@atlaswe.com I emailed him and no response. I called corporate and they agreed that it's been handled horribly and more than likely staff left earlier than the actual closing time and he was contacting the owners and three weeks no refund. Honestly, at this point, I have completely given up at this place. I've had so many bad experiences that I stopped going for a long time. I decide to give it a try and order a sandwich at 730 at night on a Thursday and was just another bad experience. I order online, 20 min go by and my basic tuna sandwich is not ready. I get it if it's lunch rush or busy. But it's literally only one person inside the restaurant. How can we not get a basic tuna out in 20 min with no one in there. It has to be a managerial issue at this point. There really is no excuse. This Jimmy John's location has gone so far down hill since they opened. I have been a long time customer over the years, originally in Illinois, then Washington and finally here in SoCal when they made there way down here. They started really strong at this location, super fast and very friendly staff. It's gradually gone down hill and it's just terrible now, you order with maybe a few other people in the restaurant and you wait a minimum 20 minute for them to grumpily slap your sandwich together, sometimes far longer. If you ask for any sort of adjustment to the standard and you get glared at or they mumble stuff under their breath... it's a shame that it's changed so much. I wish the other Lake Forest Jimmy John's was still open, the staff was so much friendlier, and more competent. I ordered online for pickup, they gave away my food to someone else and then had problems with trying to refund me. Corporate support to track down my refund was unhelpful. I'll avoid this store like the plague as it's not the first time I've had issues here. Not to mention the fact they wear their masks under their noses, some not wearing them while preparing my food, I'm not crazy about masking but Delta is spreading so why even fake it if you don't intend to wear it properly? Every time I've come here they've either given my food to somebody else, not made my food at all forgetting the order, or it's been delayed by over a half hour due to something malfunctioning. What I gather from my experiences here is that the people who own this franchise do a very poor job of managing it. I recommended multiple sandwich shops above that I've never experienced issues with. And I will continue to recommend those places over this one. Since this place doesn't deliver in my area, I drove to pick up my sandwich after ordering online. Since my sandwich was free for signing up with their rewards program, I still owed 50 cents for a side of dipping sauce. I'm handing the cashier $1 but he's busy looking down on his cell phone to notice. Finally I said "here you go!" to snap him out of his trance. Then while he's digging into the register for my change he asks "do you want your change?". Now I could've interpreted this in two ways. One, he thinks my 50 cent change isn't worth giving back to me. Or two, he's implying I should use it towards his tip after I drove to the store to pick up my order because their "freaky fast" delivery doesn't deliver in my area. Either way, that was a "freaky dumb" question to ask a customer. Felt like he was putting me on the spot to forget about my change. Review 51 for 2017! My coworker and I stopped by around 9PM on a weekday to grab a quick sub. At first impression, we thought that they were closed since it was a dead night and the employees were busily cleaning. Luckily, they were open until 10PM so we walked in. Their menu is quite simple which is perfect for an indecisive individual like myself. They have three types of sandwiches: the slim, 8", and the giant sub. It was my first time here so I decided to order the 8" Pepe which came with ham, cheese, lettuce, tomato and mayo. When I received the sandwich, I was a bit disappointed because it looked so flat and unappetizing. However, it came out to be a pretty decent tasting sub for only $6.50. The service here was excellent! The employees greeted us when we walked in the door. Our sandwiches were prepped by the time we finished ordering which was convenient. Overall verdict: I'm not too sure if I'll return since Subway also offers similar options, but with more customizations. If I were to come back, I'll probably order one of their giant subs to see if there's any difference. read more

I visited Jimmy John's for lunch, and ordered the #12. Not sure if the sandwiches on French bread come cut in half but it was not cut so I just cut it myself which is not a problem. I was not pleased at the fact that the turkey was all shoved into the front half of the sandwich and it was not spread throughout the rest of the sandwich, so I had to take it apart to evenly spread the meat. The #12 is supposed to have avocado and my sandwich did not have any avocado in it. I am very disappointed with this sandwich and the way it was made, it was clearly made in a rush and no effort seemed to be put into making it, not mention it did not come with what was described on the menu.
