I used the app to order food at 1:08pm for a 2:30pm delivery time based on a very small window for lunch for my family. At 2:42pm, the employee calls and tells me that he cannot deliver to my location. First, I used the app. It chose the location, not me. When I explained that, he said the manager would not allow him to deliver it, despite their error. Second, when I got the message saying the store received my order at 1:08, why wouldn't the employee call me at that time? Why wait until after the delivery window? I am not a huge fan of cold subs, BUT let me tell you something.... the bread, meat, and veggies are so fresh, I find it hard to resist. If I happen to want a warm sub, I get one of these and microwave it for about 15-18 seconds! Chile!! Delicious. Lately I have been craving just a regular good ole fashioned ham and Swiss sandwich on slice bread and Jimmy John's has come through for me each time. Try an original (ham and Swiss) with all the fixins and customize it with sliced wheat bread. The bread is ALWAYS soft and fresh. It's like home but better. I've decided that I do not care for the oregano on the sandwich, so today was the Gargantuan in the "Unwich" format (lettuce, not bread) with a few other customizations including adding cucumber and adding dijon mustard. Less than 12 hours ago I went and chose to have a slim 5 sandwich that comes with salami capicola and provolone at the Jimmy John's in Norfolk Virginia on military highway.  It was an easy decision for me to order some food from this place because I have previously ordered sandwiches from two different locations in Virginia (one in the Ghent area of Norfolk Virginia and another near the Virginia Beach Little Creek navy base) and I also previously went multiple times during the year with my husband to Jimmy Johns when we lived in College Park Maryland and Orlando Florida. This review is overdue. A while ago - I can't even remember the issue but the manager took care of the issue and took my word. I remember being very satisfied with customer service. I usually always order the Italian club and the Hunter roast beef. Sometimes we order them as unwiches. There is no secret ingredient on their sandwiches - just fresh, good food prepared super fast. Recently I ordered two sandwiches and a side of vinegar chips. When I got home and started eating the chips there was a big glob of chips all stuck together. I stopped eating them and saved the bag to take to the store the next time I went. I forgot it once. I forgot the bag of chips a second time but told the manager what happened and she said I could have a bag of chips with my order. I thought that was so nice and great customer service. I usually just get the sub, but I went over the weekend and got the combo tthis time. They have a sign that says $2 extra for combo, the sandwich is $4.95 - so extra $2 should come out to $6.95 and lets say $1 for tax - so total should be $7.95 right? I am so impressed with this location! The food tastes like delicious Jimmy John's- so no surprises in that department. But this location blew me away with their customer service! They brought me sweet tea instead of unsweetened. I called and actually spoke to the owner who promised to bring the correct beverage himself and gave me credit at that store for the mistake. Pretty crappy! They deliver less than a block away from my business, but can't deliver here to my office! I need delivery today because I can't get out, carpooled because of the snow. Called to place a group order and they tell me, sorry can't deliver to you even though you're less than a block away from our delivery zone. I've been here enough times now that they know exactly what I am going to order. As always, you are in and out within 2 minutes flat, which is great if you need to grab a quick bite. Food is always on point and they have some of the best bread ever. Got the ultimate porker which was advertised as a giant club sandwich. It was 8 inches just like the regular subs and was a pathetic excuse for a sub. It was 95% bread & lettuce. Our company orders food for our employee's every Saturday.. We decided to try something new this weekend and ordered 4 days in advance to assure accuracy. We ordered online, putting everyone's name with their sandwich, with some extras for different departments just in case they were needed. Opening them up, more than half of our staff had the wrong sandwich. Some examples: One employee ordered a Turkey and Cheese and got a Tuna sandwich. One employee ordered Tuna and got Roast Beef. There was no cheese on most of the sandwiches that were supposed to have it. There were maybe 2 slices of meat on each sandwich, some were less than that. The ones that had lettuce on them were filled with it, and still barely any meat was on the sandwich. Some Tuna sandwiches had the cucumber and tomato, and some didn't. Some employees didn't get a sandwich at all. I called the store to let them know what happened and I spoke with Donna who said she would have to speak with the owner because he did the order. She got my name and number down and I received a phone call from the owner. I explained what had happened and all I got was excuse after excuse. I was told that he went through this order with a "fine tooth comb" and checked then rechecked it to make sure it was accurate, especially being such a big order. He took no fault at all. Telling me that he is the owner of 7 stores and he came in this morning to do this order to make sure it was right. He admitted to one sandwich being wrong and having to open up 20 sandwiches and re-label them, but then assured nothing else was messed up as he went through the whole order so many times even after that. At the end of our conversation, he told me that he hoped to hear from us again, that he was sorry, and he hoped that we have a good Saturday. Working in the customer service department, and working in the restaurant industry for 5+ years prior, this was not handled correctly. We were not expecting a hand out, but we were extremely inconvenienced. Over half of our staff isn't able to eat what we ordered and we have to order more food. When ordering $300+ worth of food, some things may get messed up as accidents happen, but to hear "I'm sorry" and sent on our way, is no way to guarantee us ordering from you again... So, we will not be ordering from this location again.. And, hearing he owns 7 locations, I personally won't be returning to any Jimmy John's anymore... Along with the rest of our staff of 60+ people.
