This location in Sycamore IL has become total trash! We usually order once or twice a month, sometimes even more. We ordered dinner for our family tonight (5 sandwiches). All were fine except one. My husband's sandwich tasted super bitter and gross. So he called in hopes of having them send out a new sandwich. There's a girl that he spoke with was super rude, she had to ask her manager. After a while she came back and explained to him that their produce isn't always good and that it's probably the lettuce. He just asked if he could have a new sandwich. She offered a credit. We didn't want that, we just wanted a new sandwich and told her we'd be more than happy to give her the bad one. She told my husband to pick off the lettuce and enjoy his sandwich and hung up. So because he was hungry and the rest of us were eating he did what she said and took off the lettuce and continued to eat it. Well it didn't help. So little by little he tasted each item on his sandwich and we figured out it was the cucumbers. So I decided to call back to let them know so they don't continue to serve it. The girl answered and told me that they've been getting a lot of complaints about bad food there. She told me some of their shipments from their supplier arrive spoiled. Why on earth would you knowingly serve rotten food? She just said it happens and kind of laughed at me. She was very rude and condescending. She should be fired for how she talked to the both of us. I explained to her that she shouldn't serve anymore of this to the customers. She said it was out of her hands. How is this even possible? I work in food service and would never treat a customer this way, ever! So I asked her who I should contact should my husband ends up sick from it or with food poisoning. She laughed and told me that she also works in horticulture and that you can't get sick from rotten cucumber. I told her that you can get sick from eating anything that's rotten and she laughed again said thank you for bringing this to my attention and hung up. DO NOT EAT AT JIMMY JOHNS IN SYCAMORE IL. Walked in to 3 or 4 staff members starring at me and no greeting. Then someone approached the register and greeted me politely. I asked if they had any day old bread available and one of the staff members from the back of the kitchen rudely yelled NO! and right over the very polite cashier as they were speaking to me. During my last visit, I placed my order and waited for someone to call my name so I can get my sandwich. After waiting approximately 15 minutes and watching 4 people enter and leave with their food, I finally inquired about my sandwich and lo and behold, it has been sitting on the counter, apparently waiting for me to ask them to give me my food. I went in with my husband to get a bite to eat. They had many choices for sandwiches, and as we had never been here before we were slightly confused with what "all the dressings" meant. After a little while of discussing it with our cashier, one of the sandwich makers looks at us and says "are you done yet? We have a lot of people waiting" ... There was no one behind us. I got three subs tonight. They only put ONE slice of tomato (cut in half) on each sub. And only ONE slice of pickle on each sub and hardly any lettuce. Apparently everyone on Yelp only ever has bad run-ins with restaurants in the area... I personally LOVE this Jimmy John's. I go in or order a lot for lunch. They are cheap and fast but the quality is still very good. The staff are pretty nice (from what I've seen) and not even close to what Luna C., describes. The restaurant itself is pretty small but they make do with that small space pretty well. The decorations are interesting to look at and they always keep the place clean. Overall: Great place if you like cold subs especially. Much better than Subway, but if you are looking for a good hot sub then I recommend Carmine's. read more

It's a basic sandwich shop so it's pretty hard to skew either direction on "basic" satisfaction. There are so many employees standing behind the counter every time I go there on Saturday's for lunch. I think they over staff on a regular basis but I'm not the manager so I don't know the true reasoning. It's fairly clean and responsive. My only real vice with the place is I always find bits and pieces of items on my slim subs every time. I know they focus on speed, etc...but slow down to make sure the subs are made to specification. I get kinda tired of picking off peppers and lettuce that I never order. The Jimmy Chips are fantastic, but they'd be that way at any shop. read more

Here we go again with the lack of customer service at store 606 in Sycamore. I ordered 4 sandwiches and a pickle($26.47), the guy taking the orders asked me how I wanted it cut to which I answered in half. I wait for another order to be completed no big deal, they finish my order and it's missing the pickle so I ask and the associate requests to see my receipt and reply's oh we put them on the sandwich so you will have to get back into line so we can charge you for it however by now the line is 6 people deep. The guy at the register confirmed the pickle by asking how did I want it cut but messed up the order. Don't you think they would just cut the pickle and not charge me instead of making me go back through the line again?? How much could a pickle cost a store that buys them by the 5 gallon bucket, $.05-$.25?? I wanted to buy one, asked to buy one, confirmed a bought one but yet they screwed up.. read more

I absolutely love Jimmy Johns and this location is no exception. They have fantastic Turkey subs and BLT subs! Another reason I really enjoy them is that they don't make me feel heavy after eating there. However, my huge complaint is that they won't deliver to Cortland, even though it's only 5 minutes away. read more
