The entrance is very pleasing to the eye and I love the hanging flowers!

Wow what a wonderful little restaurant. It's location by the movie theater and downtown sycamore is amazing and the authentic Greek food is to die for. I had really quick service and both the cook Maki and my waitress Maia were extremely pleasant to talk with. I cannot recommend this establishment enough!! I'll be coming back for sure.

Let's see who gets this.... I awoke in a restaurant. I asked "Where am I?" The response: "In The Village." Okay, not really, but my wife spotted this place. I was tempted to get my #6 Button out, but I was wearing a dry fit shirt which would not work well with pins.... We dropped in deliberately for lunch after doing some business in DeKalb. I have been looking for a restaurant in the area that makes Souvlaki like I used to get in the Skewer Inn at the now demolished Lincoln Mall in Matteson. Found the place! The Steak Pita Sandwich is darn close, and just as tasty. This place is connected to the east side of the State Theater in Sycamore. Here is how this works: You come in, go to the counter, and grab a menu. You can sit down and figure out what you want, then go back to the counter, order and pay and tip, and then go sit down. They will take your name, and call your name when your food is up. Drinks are in a cooler case next to the register - Coke products, bottled water, and some energy drinks. There is cucumber water and lemon water free in the restaurant - help yourself. We both ordered the Steak Pita Sandwich, my wife got the Greek Salad and I got the french fries. The salad came out first and was loaded with 4 Kalamata olives, a chunk of feta cheese, and good, fresh lettuce. Then the sandwiches came out. I grabbed a bite - oh yeah, that's what I've been missing! I went to the counter for ketchup - they had salt and pepper at the table, but if you ask, they'll give you a container to use on your meal if needed and for fries, I like some ketchup. The owner came out and asked us how the food was and explained it's all made there (apart from the pitas) fresh daily, using recipes from her family in Greece. And we could tell - good food. They also have the usual Gyros, chicken and pork souvlaki, and other dishes. Service was polite, the owner was engaged, the restaurant was clean, and the bathrooms were clean and smelled good. There is Greek artwork on the walls, and a mural on the west wall. Really good stuff!

I love Greek food. I especially like family run places. This ticks the boxes on both. We started with saganaki and pita. I chose a side Horiatiki salad to go with my avgolemono soup and slouvaki skewer My husband got a chicken souvlaki and pork souvlaki skewers. And we got a lot of lemon to go around. Delicious absolutely delicious. The soup with the lemon you can add to taste. The juicy pork that was tender and well seasoned My regret? We don't live closer!

We were in a mood for some nice and light meal and we found this gem in the heart of Sycamore . It's family owned and run restaurant. Very warm and welcoming. The food is simply awesome. It's Kind of Greek and Mediterranean. We ordered Soup , spicy Feta dip, chicken Slovouki Salad moussaka and grilled cheese , everything tasted so good ,and not to forget a Greek dessert. Everything came out fast and fresh and delicious. The hostess was very hospitable and kind. The place is clean and neat and not bad for your wallet either. I'd definitely recommend this place and would go back too .

I seldom leave reviews, and I have never left a second review of the same restaurant, but The Village in Sycamore deserves it. I have had their souvlaki dinner on several occasions and it has always been wonderful. I almost always order it with the Greek potatoes which are among the best potatoes of any kind that I have ever had. My most recent order of souvlaki was notably great. The chicken is exceptionally flavorful by itself. But then add a bit of the included lemon and the flavor goes up a notch. While I have not experienced their entire menu, I am confident that it is all equally wonderful.

Best Greek food i have had period. If you are looking for some good Greek food, and are in the area, then visit "The Village, they have amazing dishes for great prices. Their saganaki was seasoned very well, it had a beautiful lemon flavor that paired amazingly well with the cheese. The soup was my favorite dish, it had a delicious yet luxurious lemon flavor that complimented the chicken and rice in it. If i had known how delicious it was, i would have just had a big bowl of it for dinner haha. The Souvlaki and the Gyros dinner were so delicious that i told my husband that i expect to be back soon forote of their delicious foods. As I said in the beginning, if you are looking for a great place for dinner and are in the Sycamore, IL area, then swing by "The Village" you will not regret it.

The location on Google Maps was not correct. The space is shared with a pizza place and the sign is not on the building but rather on the windows which are hard to see. I tried the chicken souvlaki plate with a side salad. I was torn between that and the feta fries but felt healthy so stuck with the salad. Wrong choice. The plate comes with onions and tomatoes and the salad was basically just onions and tomatoes. The chicken was really good though and the pita was warm and fresh! I also tried some of the lamb but it was very fatty and chewy. The only water option was bottled water which I was a little disappointed about since i don't like paying for water. It also took a lot longer to get our food than I expected since it has fast casual vibes. The place was pretty empty but it still took about 30 minutes. Overall glad I came to try but probably won't be back again.

Molos did not just deliver, it set a new standard for our little group dinners. We started with the Pikilia tasting plate and built our own trio of spreads. The roasted red pepper hummus was the unanimous table favorite, bold and deeply flavorful. The melitzanosalata was earthy and subtly sweet, a quieter but beautiful complement. The tirokafteri was good on its own but genuinely shone when swirled together with the other two. And the pita. That pita. Pillowy and soft with just enough structure to carry a generous pile of spread without collapsing. Outstanding. The fried zucchini with skordalia was fresh and light tasting despite being fried, a real trick. The potatoes needed a touch more salt to fully wake up but were otherwise solid. The saganaki was a table highlight, lit tableside with a proper OPA moment, gooey and beautifully crisped on top. Think mozzarella stick that went to finishing school. Mains were all exceptional. The filet mignon was wonderfully cooked, the EVO lemon sauce bringing a bright refreshing contrast to the richness of the beef. The pork chops were well charred and seasoned with the same confidence. The chicken ala feta was bright, light, and satisfying all at once. Dessert was a sampler of everything on the menu, all some gorgeous variation of creamy whipped filling, phyllo dough, honey, and nuts. Every single one cohesive and complementary. We tried them all and had no notes. We sat outside on a lovely evening, left with leftovers for days, and paid a price that felt almost unreasonably fair for what we got. Excited to go back and try more of their menu!

The atmosphere is still delightful with little sparkle lights along the windows and plenty of outdoor seating. They've added an Instagram wall ("Ouzo made me do it"). They now have a proper roasted Greek potato on the menu, and a vegetarian moussaka which I'm very excited about. Vegetarian items still not labeled; GF are. For mains, and vegetarians can get the spanakopita; a buttered macaroni with cheese; or combine various tasty dips from the appetizer section. There's also salad which I ignore. The online menu has a few appetizers I didn't see (zucchini with skordalia! Oven-baked lima beans!). Warning, at least where I was sitting: the booths can move (not nailed down) - be careful when you get up. I got the chef's special spanakopita/tiropita and the roasted potato; be very specific when ordering as I was served the special "Molos Greek potato" with garlic yogurt and shredded cheese, which was fine but not what I wanted. The spanakopita and tiropita were tasty, with a good ratio between filo and filling, served on a folded cloth napkin (great idea, even perfect filo-wrapped items can be a bit greasy). Service started a little slow, as there was apparently a big party (they do that and they cater now). It was OK though I'm not sure English was my server's first language. I'll be back for the moussaka, which looks great (someone at the next table ordered it) and will be very precise when ordering my roasted Greek potato. Hopefully with a side of giant lima beans in tomato sauce.
