Jimmy John's has always been one of my favorite sandwich chains. I hadn't been to one in a long time and was looking forward to stopping in. Unfortunately, this visit completely changed my opinion. When I walked into this location, the staff already seemed a bit disorganized. As I approached the counter to order, I noticed one of the employees holding a large napkin or paper towel against the side of his head. He pulled it away, looked at it, and I could clearly see large red blotches all over it. He then placed it back against his head and began taking my order. I asked if it was blood, and he laughed and said his ear was bleeding from an issue involving his earring. I was honestly beyond disgusted. I immediately gathered my wife and left without ordering. An experienced employee thinking it okay to be openly bleeding in front of customers in a food prep area told me all I needed to know about this location. Needless to say, I turned around and walked out and will not return. This was not only unprofessional, but a serious hygiene and food safety concern. read more

I honestly didn't know this place was open or not because I spent three minutes looking for someone that actually works there and I found out one until somebody burst through the front door and said I want to Jimmy John's. How can I help you? I said I pick up order that I placed about 25 minutes ago for two sandwiches and they haven't even started working on it. Apparently there's only one person there who is also the driver who just leaves the restaurant unattended, which is terrible to me, considering I'm a restaurant manager, and took them back or took him as always one person about 10 minutes to make the sandwich which seems a little bit longer and considering what the sandwich was. Please do better and hire more people and have a system because this is terrible. The food was good but not spectacular. read more

The staffing is a bit tough at this location. Everyone was friendly enough but only 1 sandwich came out while we were waiting and I had to ask about the 2nd sandwich. And then they didn't give me the pickle I ordered so I had to ask about that. After looking at the order, they gave me a whole pickle rather than slicing it. We ordered two little John sandwiches, #1 Ham & Provolone 300 calories and #4 Turkey 240 calories, both had lettuce, tomato and Mayo and both $3 each! You can customize all the extras without additional cost (cucumber, grey poupon mustard, Jimmy's peppers, sliced pickles, oil & vinegar, onions and oregano & basil)! You definitely need all the extra ingredients! The amount of meat was very little but the flavor was tasty and the cucumber added a little crunch! read more

Well... First they still deliver to my old job site but since December 2010 the orders keep arriving very late. I wonder what has happened, this has been an ongoing progress towards being an unreliable sandwich delivery. A few times the sandwich was not prepared properly, toppings missing and delivery taking over an hour plus. It's becoming a problem. You expect when placing the order and taking on additional charges for product that it should be there. Maybe it's due to a change in delivery guys, but, there doesn't seem to be any fix to this. Oh and when they deliver late they never call to update, by the time I call to check on it, it happens to be on its way. When I ask the driver for a reason it was late, I get inconsistent responses. Second and this one is minor. Service in the store is average. Sandwiches come as ordered and it's a standard experience. There's one counter guy that has been there for some time now that will stop during an order taking, to entrance or exit greet attractive women. It's kind of funny in a stupid way. Can be annoying though, I really don't care to see the eyes follow the ladies and then the giggles between the guys there. I would assume the few ladies that have worked here would find it gross behavior. read more

I ordered for delivery at 11:30 AM and called at 12:30 PM to ask for a time. Mind you, I asked in a very nice bubbly manner. The man who answered the phone was absolutely and disgustingly rude and defensive. By 1:50 PM my order was still not here so I called to cancel, i had been waiting for 2 hours. Then he immediately puts me on hold for about 5 minutes. I hang up and call back and tell him I want my order canceled. He then decides to treat me nicely and like a customer and apologize. Just a simple Roast Beef and Cheese sandwich. Nothing else on it how hard is that to make?!? Can you read, follow simple instructions? Not like Im gonna open my wrapped super easy sandwich up to double check your work. My mistake for sure! I get home to a turkey sandwich with tomato, cucumber, pickles and mayo! It's not even the right meat!!! They got absolutely nothing on this sandwich correct besides it was on bread!!! So disappointed. JJ's is JJ's - freaky fast subs - but something was a bit off about the operational efficiency and professionalism of the staff. I know customers don't seek out JJ's particularly for top-notch service, but this location in particular was just not on point. On Saturday 08- 27-2022 at 4:30 pm I purchased a number 10 sandwich The Hunter to go. When we got to our destination I went to eat my sandwich the bread was so stale it tasted like sawdust. What can I say, it's Jimmy John's. If you're into cold, soggy, bland sandwiches that occasionally contain frozen lettuce and/or cheese (which melt and makes the bread even soggier) then you'll gladly eat at this place, but if you want a real sandwich look elsewhere. Service was okay, I got in and out within about 7 minutes. The place gets packed around lunch hour since it's near corporate companies and one of a handful of places nearby. I was hungry and saw Chipotle had at least triple the business this place had (the line was starting to form outside the door) and decided to suck it up and try terrible Jimmy John's once again. Since this is the burbs the price is very reasonable compared to the city. Immediately after biting into my tuna club I was met with disappointment as always with Jimmy John's. Stay away from JJ's until they get their act together. I can't understand why people flock to mediocrity. read more

Whew!! 50 minutes from ordering to delivery! Don't know if they just overlooked my order or the delivery guy was taking a joyride. The sandwich was normal so no complaints there but practically 1 hour for a Jimmy John's sandwich is not freaky fast. This place has the worse service. They are the slowest delivery service and they get the orders wrong. Ordered twice from this place once in a Sunday afternoon and then on a Wednesday night. The first time it took a hour to get delivered and after an hour I canceled the order. Then on Wednesday it took 55 min to deliver and the food was wrong and lettuce was brown. read more

My experience with the Vernon Hills J.J. was absolutely unreal. I ordered food, maybe 30 minutes the driver called me for directions from his cellphone. I gave him directions, he found the place and gave me my food. An hour later I get a text message from the same number the driver called from saying 'I spit in your food asshole', I called him and he told me to fuck off. This was infuriating enough until I called the manager complaining, he told me to come in. When I went in he refused to give me a refund on a spit sandwich despite me showing him the saved text messages. He was incredibly rude and unprofessional and had some bullshit story that somebody else texted and answered that phone. The manager didn't even apologize until I brought it up to him. Fuck this place, I'm complaining to IDPH and OSHA. Do NOT eat here, eat at another one with decent management. read more

So I literally work across the street from this JJs but I couldn't leave work to pick it up, so I called in my order for delivery. Almost two hours go by and still no sub. My lunch break has come and gone. I call them, and tell them to just cancel it at this point, and the guy goes "I went there, but someone said nobody by your name works there." I'm working with two other girls, and both of them knew I was ordering food. He also said he called but I can literally screenshot my call log to prove no phone calls came in. He then said that he can send it out right now but I doubt I would have been getting a fresh sandwich. Probably the soggy two-hour sandwich. And I said that I wasn't paying for it, so he half-assed an apology and that was that. No sandwich. Good thing I was paying cash, because I probably wasn't gonna see that refund anytime soon. Gonna stick to Firehouse subs from now on, at least they have proper employees working. read more
