I placed a large order for a World Cup watch party. The person assured me they would have it ready for me by 1 PM on Sunday. I showed up to the store about ten minutes to 1pm, and the store was closed. Had the person who took my order let me know that the store was not open on Sunday, I would have looked for an alternative restaurant. This is very disappointing, with guests, arriving at my home and nothing to feed them. I will not order food from Bo-Bo's moving forward. read more

Stopped in this hot spot for a quick bite before my meeting after work. The location was the perfect spot in between where I left and where I was headed. It's a retro type dining experience. There are so many options, and when I asked what was recommended, I was told 'we are known for our gyros" and who doesn't love a great gyro?!?! I decided to try the Thursday Special Greek Chicken Pita with fries and a drink. The meal was certainly enough to fill you up, and the price is right. It's a little messy to eat, but that makes it literally finger licking good. The sauce/dressing is so good that you'll want to dip the Pita into it with each bite. Sadly, they carry Pepsi products, but I survived with a root beer. Service was great and staff was kind and knowledgeable. I had high hopes for Bo-Bo's , but the food was mediocre and the atmosphere was even worse. The line cooks loudly hurled vulgarities in Spanish, and one even directed a racial slur at my wife. It's shocking to witness such unprofessionalism in a dining establishment. Remember, you're in America--many of us understand Spanish! Save yourself the trouble and dine elsewhere. Order delivery using grubhub and Ordered the 2/3lb cheeseburger special with fries and a pepsi for me and the cod fish sandwich combo with fries and a pink lemonade and coffee flavored ice cream for my wife. The restaurant called to let us know they had run out of coffee flavored ice cream and asked if we wanted to substitute for something else and we said give us strawberry flavored ice cream. When the order arrived the ice cream was missing and instead of pink lemonade we got iced tea and instead of Pepsi I got root beer. Place has taken a nose dive. What happened. My grands like the place cuz they want scream. One time they had no milk for a shake. Homers ice cream does not appear to be the major brand. I've ordered from here many times over the years, but I've never tried their 1/2 chicken dinner until now. It comes with fries and garlic bread. Good portions and everything was delicious. Although these are not my favorite type of fries (I like crinkle cut), I have to say they were really good fries! Everything was packaged with care. I'm not sure why there are so many mixed reviews about this place. I've never had an issues. One time I ate there with an out of town friend. I asked if the Italian beef is popular, but I ordered something else instead. When the manager brought our food out, he brought out a free mini Italian beef sandwich for me to sample. Hidden Gem! So Underrated. This place deserves way more love. Everything is made from scratch, and you can taste the difference. We had the chicken Philly--so good! Loved that they use real chicken breast instead of some frozen stuff. The burgers? Amazing. I even asked the cook, and he told me they're freshly made--not pre-packaged. Cute 50's diner vibes with a standard selection of burgers, gyros and fried food. They do have Greek chicken that I'll try next time, but no Greek potatoes which was disappointing. Hubby got the chicken gyro and thought it was good. I got the fried shrimp dinner which was what you'd expect. It came with a small cup of coleslaw, garlic bread, and a baked potato. I ordered delivery from the restaurant and it was horrible. They didn't have 1/2 of what I ordered,so they just gave me credit and didn't contact me to see if I wanted something else. The chicken soup was so over spiced with black pepper it was inedible. The onion rings were so greasy that when you tried to get one out of the bag, the crust just fell off and you ended up with pieces of onion and a pile of greasy crust in the bottom of the bag. I've been eating here on and off for most of my life, and it's always decent. This is a no frills kind of place and sometimes you just need some classic Chicago style fast food. The place could be a little cleaner, but it wasn't as bad as some other similar places. Today I had the gyro plate, it comes with fries and a salad. The salad is a bit more interesting than your average salad, it has feta, olives, and egg in it. The gyro meat is always good here, but it was on the colder side this time. Not too cold, but room temperature is still not how you want your meat served. The fries were great, those old-school fries are a nostalgia bomb for me. The food here all reminds me of my childhood, and even more so with the retro atmosphere and the oldies playing on the radio. This is a classic joint, and if you want an affordable meal it's a solid option. It's not great but it's good enough and sometimes that's all you need. read more

The folks that currently run this restaurant have customer service at the front of mind which is something that you don't always see anymore. Horrible Customer Service! They had a sign in the window for a 1/4 Cheeseburger meal for 6.45. However, when I ordered it they tried to charge me over a $1 more stating the price has gone up and pointed to the sign inside the store. I stated that's not what your sign says outside. That's when the manager got involved and stated they cant figure out how to remove the sign and would not honor the price. I know I am complaining about a $1 but that is wrong. You can't advertise something on your store front and not honor it. The manager actually told me to go remove the sign cause he can't figure out how then he would honor the price. That's a joke! I saw the reviews and I was craving gyros so I came here on my lunch break. When I walked in, two people behind the counter saw me. I know they saw me because they proceeded to look for for about 30 seconds before walking away. The person behind the register also saw me and looked annoyed there I was there. There was only one table of customers when I got there. He also did not say a word. Was greeted by a super-friendly gentleman running the counter/register. And was happily taken-aback by the adorable decorating inside! Looks like an old-school diner. Gotta love it. I saw this place online when I was looking for lunch nearby since my girlfriend had a dental appointment nearby. The inside had an old timely vibe similar to Portillos. I really loved that. The food is ok at best. Definitely not something to write home about. I've eaten here with my boyfriend a handful of times.... I'm from Chicago and there's not many good hotdog/gyro/junk food places, so we'd go there once in awhile. The restaurant has always been scuzzy and dirty.... the last time I went there was the icing on the cake. The women's bathroom reaked like feces and sewer, the floors are disgusting. It was so unappetizing and to go eat my gyro after that grossed me out even more. I was looking around the restaurant and got to peak into the kitchen. Absolutely disgusting. The service in this place is getting worst and worst and really went downhill for past 6-8 months, employees are completely careless about the correctness of the orders, especially when it's a large order. employee who took my money did not wash hands and did not use gloves and went straight to handling food. When mistakes were brought up several times employees did not apologize and was even kind of rude in such way as what you want me to do now, maybe I apologize to begin with... and correct my order, I don't usually complain or write reviews like this but this last time did it and me and my family of 7 will not be back in this place. I received the most pathetic excuse for a hamburger that I've seen so far this century. See the photo link. The patties were thin as cardboard, and tiny; low-quality meat surrounded by acres of stale bun. The orange areas in the photo are actually the restaurant's red neon sign reflecting off the pools of grease on top of the patty. It's hard to believe such a tiny piece of meat could have so much grease. Wife had BBQ pulled pork, which she describes as flavorless and containing chunks of fat. Both meals came with fries, which were not wonderful but still far better than the sandwiches they accompanied. We seriously discussed just dumping our meals in the trash and going to Portillo's. It's amazing this place stays in business selling food like this with Portillo's literally right across the street. I can only guess that their ice cream must be better. read more
