I was really disappointed with my experience at this Shake Shack. The service was extremely slow, and when I looked into the kitchen, I noticed several employees preparing food with their hair uncovered and no hair nets or other hair restraints. Unfortunately, I ended up finding a hair in my food, which was completely unacceptable and honestly disgusting. On top of that, I specifically requested no lettuce on my sandwich, but it still came with lettuce. Mistakes happen, but between the long wait, the incorrect order, and finding a hair in my meal, I left feeling very unsatisfied. I hope management takes food safety and order accuracy more seriously because this experience was unacceptable. read more

They got me with their marketing for the Dubai chocolate Shake & free chicken sandwich with purchase. The quality of their chicken is amazing, always moist on the inside & crunchy outside. The chicken sandwich still lacks flavor, though each individual piece is wonderful. The Dubai shake ($10 & change) is not worth the hype. I couldn't even finish it. Chocolate is much better. Like many have said, this is an overpriced burger joint. Long waits to get food. The order keosks are filthy! Not sure why it bothers me that the take out orders aren't covered up. There was too much pollen flying around in Chicago & I wish it was covered up. Also they added a drive thru window and it screams hazard Wowza. Seems like I had more opinions about this place than I thought. It's good but not enough to justify getting it without the coupon deals. Ridiculously long line to place food order. The floor was covered in food and the tables were filthy. They seemed to have enough help but the state of the dining room was of little concern. Lots of chatter in the kitchen, not the time on a Saturday night. Fries were overcooked, the chicken sandwich appeared to have been refried. My coke was warm, flat and didn't have ice. Truffle season is upon us once again. I will not fall for that marketing gimmick this time. I did order and eat a veggie burger. While obviously not beefy/ tasting, I did enjoy the texture of the burger, and the presentation with the bun and fixins was quite nice. It was "almost" like eating a burger. Great food, done well. Stopped in for lunch while running errands in the area. Interior was clean and well-maintained. Employees were very friendly and helpful. The group in the kitchen seem to really be enjoying themselves as they worked. Food came out relatively quickly, and everything was exactly as ordered. My burger was juicy, flavorful and the toppings were fresh and crisp. The crinkle cut fries were crispy but otherwise lackluster. No real complaints - only a wish that they had a true drive thru. Came here with my friend ordered two burger and fries and waiting approximately an hour for our food. The service was poor. And our order was brought wrong we only got one of the correct burger plus four other burgers that I didn't order but didn't get the one that I ordered. I haven't had Shake Shack in forever and thought I'd try it again. Now I remember why I don't go here. Bottom line is it's an overpriced burger place without the quality. If it's expensive and good I don't mind but mediocre food for that price I'll skip. We ordered on a kiosk because that is recommended unless you're using cash. We dined in so we had the food delivered to our table. The only good thing about the meal was the fries. I love a good crinkle cut fry. They weren't soggy each bite had a nice crunch to it. The burger didn't do it for me. I'm not sure what sauce the shack sauce is but it doesn't taste like anything so the burger was kind of bland. The lemonade and Arnold palmer were very watered down and I'd recommend saying no ice because you get like 3 sips and that's it with how much ice they put in your cups. The establishment was semi cleaned a few tables needed to be wiped off but it was nearing the end of the night so I guess maybe they were waiting to clean. When I want a good basic burger, I head here and get one smothered in extas - like bacon avocado. Then it's a true meal. The self check-in can feel like a maze on the screen. Pretty let down with the lunch we had. The chicken bites were overcooked - hard and dry. The spicy burger was just hot to be hot - not to taste good. The bacon avocado burger had no sauce on it, and both the patty and the bacon were limp. The chocolate shake was average. The fries did come put hot and crispy. And the cheesy fries are worth the little bit extra. The Kiwi apple Lemonade is punch you in the mouth tart but in a good way. And the root beer was enjoyable. The parking lot is plenty big. I love Shake Shack. This review is only based on this location and my experience today. I love fried chicken sandwiches, well, all fried chicken in general! And buffalo sauce is one of my favorites. The buffalo chicken sandwich I ate today was quite tasty. Perfectly cooked and perfect amount of sauce. I would say well executed which is not always the case at Shake Shack especially post-COVID. I would definitely order this again! No issues with service. I've not had a problem with this location other than one time when I had to wait an extra 20 min after placing an order on the app. Why 3 stars? Today was the first time I dined-in at the VH location. I was there around noon. It was not busy. No one in line and only 4 tables were occupied. Many of the tables were dirty. I felt given the lack of customers, they could go around and wipe the tables and other areas. I feel this is a problem with Shake Shack. Not just this location. It was a small sandwich that I could get at most fast food places. Burger was dry. Fries were basic crinkle fries. Mostly soggy. The star of the show was Pomegranate Basil Lemonade. It's the only thing I truly enjoyed from here. The creamsicle shake was not worth the drive and could be gotten elsewhere. Can you believe there is a shake shack here now! I am so excited as I visit mettawa for business and do not have a shake shack very local to me in California. After scoring an invite to the soft opening, I was in heaven. The parking is plentiful here as it's in a large center and full of parking. The staff was so kind and the Kiosk ordering is super easy. They even take mobile pay! I am so very excited to incorporate this as a regular food place for when I visit this area. There are so many options in California for burgers, but this place holds a special place in my stomach.
