Highly recommend this gem. My fiancé and I couldn't find a place with great service and portions. But Jimmy Thai ALWAYS goes above and beyond. The portions are great, guaranteed you'll have left overs that by the way heat up nicely, the team there is fast, pleasant and welcoming. We had seen the long line of cars for carry out several times in the past 2 years and it was our turn to give this restaurant a try. The owner cares very much about his business and it shows. Ate here on a busy Friday night. The owners are very friendly and are so quick in making sure you are seated and served your order in a timely manner. The green and red curry, and pad thai are absolutely delicious and the portion size is perfect so you're not eating too much and still may have enough to take home. I'll be back soon! read more

This place never fails to disappoint. It's our go to for when we are in the mood for Thai. All of the dishes we tried were great and the owner is wonderful. We ordered pick up in a busy day and it was running late. He was very apologetic and offered free drinks and when we finally got the order, gave us a coupon for our next order. It was a nice touch and shows how much the owner cares. Our favorite dish is the pineapple fried rice, it's tasty and they allow us to customize it. I have been coming here since they were Thai Thai. Food is pretty reasonable usually, for the burbs. I was looking for a place to cater several party sized trays of food, which Jimmy Thai had available on their website. Well, my order wasn't ready on time (ordered a day in advance). My husband had to wait over 30 minutes to pick up the food. When he got home, turned out one of the appetizers was forgotten. The restaurant sent a delivery guy to drop it off, which was so nice. On to the food, all the meat was very tough, I have seriously never had such tough meat in a pad thai or pad see ewe before. For our trouble, they gave us a $25 certificate to go back... The food at Jimmy Thai is absolutely delicious. Jimmy Thai's staff is very kind. There is a wide verity on the menu especially for the curry's and ramen. If you like spice make sure to ask for Jimmy's special spicy sauce. It is a great kick for the ramen to help give it that extra level. The food is great here, but the service is even better. I just picked up a curbside takeout order, and in hopping out of my car to grab the bag from the kind man who came out (so he wouldn't be mauled by my overly friendly dog through the window), said dog decided to step on the door lock - locking himself into the (running) car and myself out (sans phone). The man immediately invited me in to wait (and offered me a drink), and called his cop friend to come help. Within 5 min I was back in my car, no worse for wear (and with my food still hot, yo!). Come here for the food for sure (I've had their chicken satay, cashew stir fry, and ramen before - all excellent!!), but stay for the very, very kind people. :) read more

A real gem! Was there for my second visit and I can't wait to become a regular. Tried the sweet chili meatballs and those alone are reason to go back. The texture is firm, the flavor of the beef was excellent and it had just a hint of sweet chili sauce. I was in the mood for noodles so I ordered the Tom Yum soup. This is the third time we have been going to this place and the food is amazing every single time. I am a vegan, and one of my daughters is a vegetarian, and our dishes are always very flavorful and the staff is always accommodating. But... this is not a review about the food or the atmosphere but what happened after our dinner tonight, on December 18 around 7 pm. We were finishing our meal (four women: mom and three daughters), and Jimmy came up to us and said "I don't know if you noticed the people who were seated at the table next to you, but a man paid for half of your dinner and asked me to wish you happy holidays." This was a wonderfully kind and completely unexpected gesture from a stranger. I routinely do this myself - pay for someone else's meal - but this is the first time that it came full circle and happened to me. So, to this lovely young couple and another gentlemen seated at the table next to the wall at Jimmy's on December 18th around 7:30pm - thank you from the bottom of our hearts. This was a challenging week for me and you have single-handedly restored my faith in humanity. I am going to be meditating tonight and sending you metta, and will also continue passing it on. Wonderful cozy place with EXCELLENT service. The owner and the server came by several times to make sure we were happy with everything. When I finished my water bottle, another was brought to out table right away, without prompting. The food was prepared quickly and to order. I've recommended a few coworkers to try this place. The last two times I visited, service was consistent. I tried to different lunch specials. I think my fav is basil chicken. Portions are large and if I was on a diet and has discipline, is easy only half. The appetizers are ok, but still nice to have a choice. Noodle based lunch specials are not bad, I prefer the options with more veggies. This is the same establishment as ramen time, btw. So you can get Thai or ramen at the same place at the same time! Just paid this place a visit for lunch recently. My wife found it on Yelp and it was highly rated and not far from us in Skokie. This has been noted by other reviews - the food is excellent and the service is even greater! the owner greeted us promptly and brought us two bottled waters. We indulged on bowls of ramen with spicy tonkatsu broth (pork and veggies). With a side of egg rolls, this lunch hit the spot on a cold, rainy afternoon!
