We called to order carry out and they asked if we'd like to try their new ramen. They told us it was only their second day serving ramen and would like feedback from us. We ordered the Tonkatsu ramen and our usual pad Thai and other small dishes. The Ramen presentation for a To-go was good. They separate the noodles and veggies from the broth. The noodles were good texture and the broth had great flavor; not too oily or salty. Ample amount of meat! It's hard to find a good Thai restaurant in the NorthShore. Stopped by Jimmy Thai as my son had a basketball class nearby. The restaurant has nice decor. I liked the ramen option for my kids and the variety of options to choose from. Majority of the ramen places I've been too I've not eaten the pork. At least here you have other meat alternatives. Our group ordered the beef salad, pad Thai and ramen. Also a side of karage. The karage was probably the best I've had. Batter was light and crispy. Meat wasn't chewy like many of the others I tried. Beef salad was one of the better ones I've had. Right up there with Cozy Thai in Evanston. Portions were generous. The restaurant was very busy that night but the staff was super sweet. I would make the trip up here again from Wilmette when I'm in the mood for a Thai Food. Overall experience was very positive. read more

We needed lunch after shopping at the Dump from out of town and picked this place at random since it was close. And holy crap was it delicious! Hubby got ramen and it was so smooth and rich and homey feeling. I got the Larb Kai and it was perfect--and the Ground Chicken Basil with veg was great, too! We definitely took leftovers home as the portions are huge. (The lunch special is a full size plate.) Crab Rangoon were delicious, too. Service was extremely pleasant and quick. I will say I have been a fan since we used to order from them when they were known as "Thai Thai Deerfield". The food remains the same. Great as always. I ordered pick up, which was very fast. My friend ended up walking in and being greeted by Jimmy, which is great. However, compared to city Thai places, Jimmy Thai's was bad. It might be good for boring suburbanites. My favorite Thai place in the city is Krung Thep Thai in Lake View. Jimmy's Pad Thai does not come close to this. Jimmy's Pad Thai was bland. In the city, I can't help myself but finish the rest of the food for breakfast the next day. Jimmy's Pad Thai lacked the addictive qualities of city Pad Thai. Me and the wife ordered the tonkotsu ramen with pork meat and the kids ordered chicken broth rameb with karaage and we loved it. For appetizer, we got the karaage chicken and it was good. Jimmy's Thai is probably one if not the best place to get tonkotsu ramen. Their chefs have professional training from authentic Japanese chefs, and that's why I think they're the best. Also, Jimmy himself is extremely friendly and welcomes you at the door. read more

First off, the staff here was amazing and so kind to our family. Their fried rice, Tom yum and shrimp and rice soup was delicious! WE did get ramen that was not our favorite but honestly I think it was a personal preference thing. This was my first time trying Jimmy Thai as we heard good things about the food. Food was amazing! I had ramen with the beef. Portions were huge for the price and Jimmy threw in extra vegetables for no charge. Just the right amount of spice. My wife got the pad Thai with chicken and she loved it as well.
