We had a reservation for 7 PM and when we walked in it was clearly very busy. We sat down and were greeted after a short wait. We ordered our food and salads came pretty quickly along with drinks. Then the waitress basically never came back to the table for over an hour. We asked another waitress to help us at one point and she said the kitchen was pretty backed up but that she would check on things. After another 15 minutes one of us finally went back into the kitchen to find our waitress and she told us it would be another 15 minutes at least before our food was done so we left. Horrible experience. It was an incredibly unprofessional way of handling what was obviously not a good situation with staffing. No one offered any explanation or apology. My wife said it was the best she has had. 4. Sushi - my 16 year old Grand Daughter said it was the best she's had. And the freshest! 5. The cantonese spicy noodles are not only not spicy, but the noodles aren't Cantonese noodles. They are more like a noodle you would find at an elderly home cafeteria. The dish literally has no taste. I ordered a small wonton which was not bad, though the broth is a bit "off". I also ordered pork dumplings and they just taste like they were heated up from a freezer. They are also quite an odd shape and only have dough around the outside, so it really is just a ball of meat with an outline of dough. Jimmy Wans is one of my go to lunch spots. They have a great lunch special menu, and everything I've tried has been very good. They have a large menu to choose from, so there is bound to be something for everyone. They have a great sushi selection, but some of them can be a little pricey. They have happy hour drinks and sushi specials, but it is from 3-5 which can be a little troublesome for people who work until 5. Don't waste your time or money. I ordered $56 of take out. First off, they are way over priced and the food was awful. When I arrived, there were 2 hostesses on the phones and a guy wearing a Burgundy button down shirt talking to a younger young man, He saw me but completely ignored me. First time customer, the location and decor was nice. Our food was hot but very subpar at best. Example; the General Tsao had plenty of breading but next to no chicken and no flavor. We had ordered Mongolian Beef, absolutely no flavor and the Tofu Homestyle had had one sugar snap pea. Well I mean it's okay Chinese food in Pittsburgh. The food overall is okay, but not terribly authentic and definitely too salty and full of MSG. We ordered honey walnut shrimp and came in a sweet and sour sauce. When I asked why it was in a sweet and sour sauce the waiter told us that's what walnut shrimp is. Actually it is not, honey walnut shrimp is actually a white sauce usually made with mayo... On an up note, the service is lovely and the food is totally edible. I'm a bit biased because I'm not a huge fan of sushi or Chinese cuisine; however, my fiancée loves it so we found ourselves at Jimmy Wan's. It was by far the best Chinese food I've ever had. I ordered the lunch special Sweet & Sour Chicken which was served with a Teriyaki Chicken appetizer and white rice with the entrée. It was incredibly fresh, and the ingredients were of a far higher quality that what one would find at a typical Chinese takeout restaurant. My fiancée had the sushi lunch sampler, and he relayed that it was fantastic in all ways other than the portions which consisted of 5 or 6 smaller pieces -- not enough for a true "lunch". The restaurant atmosphere is clean and dark, and the bar service was efficient and friendly. In short, the cost of the meal was far more than Chinese takeout, but it was completely justified by the quality of the food served. We would definitely return! read more

I have never had such bad service and sushi. Our waitress refused to come by our table after taking our food order. 45 minutes later, still no food or waitress, but she was busy talking to all of the regulars, catching up and making them rounds of drinks. Half of our meal came out, and it was not good. 15 minutes later, the rest of our meal still isn't out so we flag down another waitress. (Not ours because she refuses to stop at our table) she informs us that the second half of our rolls will be out shortly, to which we reply please just cancel them. She assures us they are being plated, so we ask for them to go and for our check. After yet another wait, the rolls come out, we pay our check and leave. We decide to eat the remaining rolls, since we are still very hungry, and they are covered with a foul/burnt tasting soy sauce. We had 4 different rolls, and not a single one matched the description and all were covered in the sauce. After an extremely irritating time and horrible meal, I don't think I will be going back again. Not worth the risk. After $125 later, we got Chick-fil-A. read more

I frequent Jimmy Wan's for business lunches. It is the best sushi and assorted Asian restaurant in Cranberry. They have a decent lunch special menu. I usually get the nigiri lunch special with hot and sour soup and add a ginger salad. I have had a few other sushi offerings and dumpling as well. Location: Cranberry, PA. This restaurant came at us by surprise! We were looking for sushi restaurants and the one we usually go to was closed permanently and the other was super crowded and we were not comfortable in a tightly sat, crowded restaurant. So we saw Johnny Wans, not even realizing it was "fancy" until we walked in! There is one loud bar side for those that do not want formal and another more formal. We were all luckily dressed semi formally but i doubt it had mattered considering some customers were in sweatshirts and other formally dressed. Many formal dining restaurants do not have a sushi menu that is commonly served but JW had every single common roll plus fancy, more unique rolls which i was very surprised and pleased about! Even more so, their sake menu was extensive and had more then one HOT option which these days is not common! The service was quick and polite (but maybe ill trained on how to clear old dishes prior to new dishes arriving). The food was DELICIOUS! It was not overly salted, which has been a huge downfall in restaurants lately, leading us to avoid them. The tables seemed spaced respectfully (considering where we are currently within a height of covid cases). To top this place off, the window side of the restaurant faces a road but instead of having to look cars throughout your dinner, there is a nice line of bamboo that blocks them from your sight! I went here about a month ago, worst food I've had in a long time. We had 3 dishes, one was to be spicy and was just oil that had no flavor. The other was just salty broccoli and chicken. The only one that was ok was the kids meal. Since this experience I went back as everyone can have an off night. I ordered the same, and it was just as bad as the first time. I now know of 2 families that have gotten food poisoning here. When you talk to the manager he defends the poor quality and says it's you not him. I've had awesome Asian cuisine and Asian Fusion food, especially in Columbus Ohio and New York, and this restaurant just needs new management and better quality. Jimmy Wan's has some of the best Chinese food in the Pittsburgh area - top 3 for me. Most importantly for me are their quality meats, General Tso's chicken and steak on a stick are delicious. Food portions can feed about 3-4 people. Food taste's good heated up the next day also! Drinks are a plenty and well made; they have a specialty drink menu and draft beer. Their prices are mid to high but I believe the quality is worth the price. The restaurant is broken out into different areas. Entrance includes a bar and additional swanky bar seating. The other half of the restaurant has a large sushi bar and dining area. They also have additional seating in an outside type area with plastic liner to create an enclosure. There's also a large round table in the back that can seat about 12-15 people. Wait staff are friendly and tentative, hostesses are friendly young girls who make you feel welcome. Multiple restrooms, very clean and well maintained restaurant. The atmosphere includes upscale furniture, low lighting and a casual but classy dining area. This is not your typical Chinese restaurant. I highly recommend. read more

Had such high hopes for this place, but everything fell short. Our server, Maurice, never introduced himself and only came to our table to take orders and drop off the check. I had heard great things about the shumai, but they didn't have any available. My husband ordered the Chilean sea bass, but that was inedible, a pretty expensive dish full of fish bones. The green beans on the side were also cold. That was taken off the check and my husband had lost his appetite after swallowing one of the bones. By that time, I couldn't eat my dish while he sat there watching. Such a shame because the salt and pepper fried chicken was actually good! The manager on duty did offer a dessert on the house, but damage was done. I love dim sum and was excited to have a place nearby to offer it, but we won't be coming back here for it. read more

They remain busy and the parking lot appears to be crowded but the last two times that I have tried their food it has been way underwhelming. My nephew and niece in law have been trying to get me to try sushi for a few years now and as I was in town due to evacuation orders because of Hurricane Florence I guess this was our time.
