I visited Jimmy's American Grill with a social group that I'm a part of. We were there to have a mini baby shower for one of our members. Our waitress was pretty nice. However, I wasn't the biggest fan of the food. I got the Jimmy's Stuffed Salmon, which sounded good but was lacking in flavor. Also, the fish was overcooked, which is like a crime when preparing seafood. I'm not the most eager to return here. read more

The piece of salmon was ok, nothing to write home about but all in all it wasn't bad. Large selection of seating with the bar area being separate from the main area. Had dinner out earlier this week and decided to check out Jimmy's American Grill. I live in the area but hadn't come to Jimmy's since they rebranded some time ago from Alstarz Sports Bar. The place is absolutely enormous and despite the packed parking lot, we were seated immediately in a large side dining room which has a second full sized bar. We had plenty of space and it was nice to not be in a crowded area. Service was great. She was busy but we always knew she hadn't lost track of us. We ordered the blackened chicken sandwich and the steak & blue salad. Food was very good and overall experience assured that we'll be back again soon. read more

I've been here twice for events. Place is nice. The event room is spacious. Staff was friendly. I can't speak on the food, as I didn't order any, but my low rating is due to the drinks. I grabbed a beer - I typically go for whatever IPA is on tap, I'm not picky, a hazy is preferable. My first beer, which should've been an opaque yellowish color (as hazys are), was brown-tinted and tasted a little weird. I opted for a different option the second time, and received another brown tinted, rotten fruit tasting, skunky beer. This beer I abandoned as it was undrinkable. 3rd and 4th beers get ordered, same deal. This place either has a bunch of old expired beer, or they just don't clean their taps. Today, my stomach is cramping, and I've been left wondering if I should've just drank Michelob Ultras in the parking lot before coming in. read more

Where to start... Jimmy's is overall pretty good. Big place, decent menu, not a bad beer and drink list. I do feel it is a bit overpriced for what it is in the area that it is in, however, that tends to keep rif raf out. Service I feel is slow, especially when busy, but last time a manager, as they should, jumped behind the bar to help. When my oldest is home from college we love to go to new places and sample each other's food. This was not a good experience. I will say the staff were very nice and the atmosphere was also. I had a Chicken Alfredo, which I'm glad was good because I had to share it with my two sons. My oldest son's shrimp tacos and my youngest steak sandwich both tasted old. Like too long in the fridge old. Like they tried to get one more day out of food that should have been tossed instead of served, old. Not only bad, a but a shameful and dangerous. We thoroughly just enjoyed an impromptu visit for dinner tonight. The Margherita pizza was delicious everything was fresh & cooked to perfection. My husband absolutely loves Jimmy's burgers - they truly are cooked to your specific requirements & he loves his burgers "raw". Even the New England Clam Chowder was delicious. We definitely wanted to give a shout pit to "Ava" our waitress tonight. She was such a pleasure to meet. Ava was absolutely polite: professional; sociable and extremely efficient in everything she did. She truly made our evening at Jimmy's even more enjoyable. The service was impeccable. We reserved a table for thanksgiving dinner after traditional dinner plan wasn't happening. Last minute table for eight was no problem. This was my third time Jimmy's (now B2Bistro owned) for dinner, but my first buffet. There was a long table with all kinds of breakfast type food and salads where I got a Caesar salad that could have been equal parts lettuce and dressing. Then another table that had meat, pasta and salmon. Surprisingly, the first station was made-to-order omelets (looked good). I kept moving until I got dark turkey meat, slice of ham and prime rib. Didn't see any coleslaw. All I can say is that the ham was good, but the turkey was cold and possibly overcooked; The prime rib also was cold and it was chewy. Potatoes also cold; green beans were good. I'm not a dessert person, but the selection was large and they couldn't replenished it fast enough. We were all in agreement that the dinner would have been bad at any price let alone for $50 a head. Then salt in the wound..a 20% "service charge"! I'd say mighty generous tip for the nice lady who took our drink order, delivered it and dropped off the check! It's a buffet! A holiday buffet at Jimmy's was a mistake, but it's a nice place with a good bar and has a large menu. I'll be back to see if B2Bistro is as good as Jimmy's was on a non-holiday. read more

I went to Jimmy's for Happy Hour with some friends and everything was excellent! Our server, Aliya, basically catered to our every want. And, she did all this with a smile on her face and with a friendly mannerism. The food was also very tasty. We had nachos, calamari, spinach dip and fried zucchini strips. And, Kudos to Sheena, who was behind the greeting "desk." She asked how our evening was so we chatted a bit. The ambiance in Jimmy's is warm! I'll be trying this place again, I'm just hoping they had an off day. This is my first time here. We ordered the bases loaded skins (potato skins) and the server kept saying hey they're almost out, then our meals showed. They tried to bring out the skins right after and asked if we just wanted to take them to go or to remove from the receipt. We would have brought them home but we asked for no scallions and they were loaded all over it, so we said no and to remove from the receipt. I ordered the chicken parm on ciabatta bread, the sauce from the marinara sauce was loaded with onions and to be honest didn't really have much flavor. The chicken was cooked perfectly and had a great amount of cheese, just bummed about the marinara. The fries were the star of the show though - those things were amazing. After an event my husband hosted here tonight and in an attempt to make sure I ate (we all know how that goes lol), he called and asked if he could bring something home. It came with a salad, and they added some asparagus for me. When I say that this food was fresh, cooked perfectly, not greasy, and the asparagus was some of the best I've had - I mean it! Just wow. I have extended family that visits NJ twice a year. We always plan a lunch together so we catch up. We have been meeting in the Bordentown area because it is a midway point for those driving. So six months ago we were served some undercooked food at our regular place( they did not charge us for the food and did everything reasonable to keep us happy) but we decided to try Jimmy's American Grill which is very close by. Jimmy's shares a massive parking lot with the other place. They have a grand entrance, a large bar, patio and dining room. The decor is stylish and has the preamble on a mural. There were Christmas decorations and giant poinsettia plants and holiday music playing. We received a specials menu, full menu and breakfast offerings which they serve until 2:00 on weekends. We mostly ordered sandwiches and all six of us were pleased with the food. We sat around and talked and although the server was good, I realized it had been two hours since we were served and he had yet to come by to offer us dessert. Due to the low average from Yelp reviews I was reluctant to try Jimmy's American Grill, but I am a Maverick. Yelp has even awarded me a badge that says so. I have to say I was glad I ignored the reviews. Our experience was great. As always your mileage may vary but we will most definitely be back. read more

I'm glad I gave Jimmy's a shot. Typically, I trust Yelp! reviews, but this time, the reviews didn't match my experience. For context, I stayed at the Home2Suites across the street and needed a quick bite to eat, so I decided to walk across the road (4 min walk). I was hungry and looking for something to satiate me. I'm lucky I tried Jimmy's because the food was tasty! I was greeted and sat immediately upon entering the restaurant. When I sat down, the server came over promptly with the menu. I ordered, and my food came out hot and tasted delicious. I requested onions on top, and the server asked me if raw was ok. I asked if I could have them sautéed, and he gladly obliged. During my meal, I had two different staff members ask me how my food tasted--it was apparent they cared and were making an effort to ensure I was satisfied with my meal. Disregard the negative reviews--this place is excellent, the staff is friendly, and the food was delicious! read more

This was my first time here and to say I've been missing out is an understatement. I drive by here all the time and not once have I stopped here. The inside is huge - very spacious. Lots of booths and tables. They have a full bar as well as a large back room (see photos) that would be great for more special occasion dinners. They have some outdoor patio seating as well. The temperature inside of this establish was cozy and warm. Service was outstanding! Amarachi was our server and she was excellent! Very attentive, quick, and kind. The lunch came with both soup and salad as well as a little dessert at the end (they make their own homemade rice pudding). The soup, tomato orzo, was the best soup I ever had - and that says a lot because I'm a big soup lover. The salad was great as well. When I ordered the chicken Parmesan, I was skeptical because most places I've gone overcook this dish or it is just overall unappetizing. However, I was pleasantly surprised that this chicken parm was excellent! The thickness was perfect (see photo) and it was tender and cooked to perfection. The sauce was the best part. It had a bit of Parmesan taste in it and it made it very delicious! I can't wait to come back here for this dish and to try others! I particularly want to try their swordfish next. When I do, I will report back with the results. I'm excited to have found a new restaurant to go to! read more

We held a business networking event at Jimmy's. The Banquet Manager couldn't have been more accommodating to our group. Everything was set up for our event. The Food and Service was excellent. Me: North Jersey. Friend: South Jersey. Me: Football. Wings. Beer. Friend: Jimmy's. And so it was. We came from all directions on 130 and 206 and made our way into the parking lot. For the first time in months, I've now eaten at an establishment. Here's the 2021 lowdown: * Atmosphere: They have now set up a large heated outdoor half-tent. It's their former outdoor area and half of it is still open to the outside, so it can be cold in winter, but at least there are heaters. That's where we ended up, so it was nice to feel a little better about COVID transmittability, but not perfect. Inside seemed like the place to be in normal times. * COVID: Staff all appeared to be wearing masks properly. Mask wearing of guests was not enforced that I saw, certainly not at tables (i.e. you should wear a mask if you're not actively eating/drinking, but most people weren't). I don't have a good handle on the right balance in hospitality, just noting it. * Food: I really just had the wings, but those were SOLID wings. Hugely meaty, just barely cooked enough so full of moisture and texture and flavor. No bad wings in the bunch. They're not cheap, but you get what you pay for. I wish there was a larger variety of sauces, but the buffalo sauce is just fine. My friend felt like he got a lot of lamb for his money. Everyone's plate was polished. My one friend asked for no onions on the side but he got onions on the side anyway - not a big deal because they're on the side, but one thing that the server got wrong. * Beer: The other thing the server got wrong... I ordered the Yards, but she said they only had it in a bottle. So I just got a Yuengling while I thought over what else I wanted. She came back a bit later to let me know they DO have the Yards on tap and she thought it was a different Yards I had wanted. Then I was comped my Yueng. So she absolutely made things right - I would have ordered two beers anyway, it was no big deal, but I appreciated that! * Overall: We stayed there over 4 hours, including well over an hour after we had settled our checks. We weren't disturbed after that time, though I imagine I could have ordered another drink if I really wanted. This seems like a good place to catch a game. It's a little mixed up between sports bar and restaurant - I feel like it's going for "upscale sports bar" and that just is not a niche I understand. If I'm watching the game, I'm ordering off your apps menu and drinks. If I'm out for nice food, I'm not going to a sports bar. Maybe I'm out of touch. I feel like I wandered a bit there. Sorry. Jimmy's: First impression: Solid. Good choice, friend. Next time, he comes up this way, I've got to do equal or better. That's a challenge. read more

This was the 2nd time dining at Jimmy's American Grill. Made reservations for Mother's Day for me and my two guys (hubby and son). Picked Jimmy's for the great outside seating with heating lamps (for the winter). Open area with plenty of seating and a bar which is great for group gatherings. They do follow and are in compliance with mask wearing and spaced out tables. Let me say I made reservations and requested for seating outside. When we arrived, it was a little chaotic which is understandable - it was a holiday. We waited maybe 5 minutes and was escorted to the inside of the restaurant to a booth. I mentioned to the hostess that I requested (over the phone) outside dining. She couldn't be bothered by placing the menus on the table and walks away. Not good. I grab a waitress and explain my situation. By this time, the same rude waitress and hostess sees there's an issue, comes over and tells me they only have a tabletops near the bar. Really??? Do you see these two guys who are 6"3' and 6"4' with me??? Not what I requested, but I'll take it. Moving forward, we were greeted by our waiter Joshua who was gracious. We ordered a round of Mimosa's which was great. Our entrées were Chicken & Waffles, Mediterranean Omelet and Ham & Cheese Omelet. Food was ok...had better and why I try to stay away from dining on a holiday. If it wasn't for Joshua's great service, this would have been an uneventful Mother's Day. read more

I've been to this location before but I was told that they are under new management now. I really enjoyed my crab stuffed flounder. The crab was seasoned very well but the fish was not as tasty. My side items of broccoli and mashed potatoes were good also. The restaurant decor was very nice and there was a constant flow of patrons. The patio with fire pit is also a nice addition. I would recommend a little more attention to the fish items on the menu bc it seemed more than a few people in my party were not happy with the prep of there dishes (seasoning specifically). Overall ambiance of the place is nice. The service was good and food came out very fast; even before I could finish my cup of clam chowder. I had ordered the Fish and Chips. The cole slaw and the french fries were ok. However, as I began to eat the fish which I assumed was cod, I began to feel sick. It had a very fishy smell and taste.
