It's an odd experience walking into a packed room of people and thinking (for the first time in your life) "hmmm maybe I could win a beauty contest..." but that's the amazing experience offered by the James' Egg in Yukon. This was a wait in line and eat in restaurant experience for me. My wife got an imported waffle but I stuck with an American breakfast for both myself and the economy. Both were really good and adequately warm. We didn't know our waitress's name so we called her Brendy. She was very sweet and attentive and had a really nice updo. A couple fun things that happened: 1. My wife asked why that egg doesn't have a nose. 2. A lady ordered a side of cream cheese and pressed a pat onto ever bite of bacon. 3. I heard a man call his 30 year old grandson a "dirty dog" because he got a real nice cinnamon roll. Had a craving for a decent breakfast and decided to visit Jimmy's Egg in Yukon. Over all the restaurant was clean. They allow you to seat yourself during non peak hours. Not a bad place to grab breakfast/brunch! They get the food out quickly and turn over tables. The Bad: this place is tiny. Expect a wait on the weekends. Some the servers get overwhelmed. Every table and seat at the bar will be full, not to mention the parking lot. We were lucky because we have been able to skip the line and sit at the "bar." There is no alcohol served here, but they've got quick seating where you can look into the kitchen. We discovered from sitting at the bar that the meats (bacon and sausage) are not made to order, but sit under a heat lamp. Also, don't expect a to go order during busy times. I saw the phone ringing and ringing with no one to answer. The Good: Anything made with eggs is freshly cracked. They brought out dozens and dozens of eggs to the cook who was in charge of the egg grill. I was so impressed, that I'm going to order an omelette next time. This place was very busy when we went around 10am on a weekday. I got the veggie omelet with no onions and they still put onions in it (minus a star for accuracy). Overall the experience was pretty good. We came in with 5 little ones and our server was great with them and was able to get their juices out very fast, keeping our table quiet. The food came out hot, and we were able to get in and out with decent timing. I will note the kids loved their food, my daughter got the chocolate chip pancakes and there was a ton of chocolate in the pancakes. We'll definitely come back here. read more

I think this is an escape room disguised as a diner. You might wait forever for your server to take your order, but the true test is paying. The waitress brings you your check but then never comes back. I mean, she walks by dozens of times but doesn't notice your payment there. So you think maybe you pay up front but they tell you to pay your waitress. So you flag her down and she just says she'll be with you in a moment. It's like the Hotel California. The service here is always terrible. We wind up driving to the city locations because this local Jimmy's egg is just poorly managed. We decided to try again as it had been about a year and we were crunched for time today. We were seated at a dirty table that still had trash and the check from the last folks. It took over 45 minutes to get food. They first brought the completely wrong order out and then brought our food out burnt. Then they never brought the check. The whole ordeal took about an hour and a half and, in all that time, they filled our coffee twice. This place is just the worst. read more

I love this place. I love all the food they have here. I think I've tried just about everything they serve. The hashbrowns are crispy on the outside just the way I like them. The biscuits are one of my favorite things here. You can tell the gravy is from a mix but it is still good. The eggs are a bit on the bland tasteless side, not from how they cook them, but just because they are cheap eggs. You can tell a really good egg by the bright orange color of yolk, but these are just your average everyday store bought egg. I wouldn't expect much more than that though for the price. The biscuit debris is where it's at! Two buttermilk biscuits with creamy country sausage gravy, grilled sausage and ham, topped with melted cheddar cheese. I get mine with bacon instead of ham and you have a choice of home fries or hashbrowns. I usually get it with hashbrowns but sometimes I splurge and get both.. Absolute heaven! So far, the best times to go have been around 10:30 or 1. Those times are in between the breakfast and lunch rush most times. I may just have to get me some fluffy pancakes from there today.. I'm rating this place solely on the food itself because I get it to go since they are so busy. read more

Why is every Jimmy's Egg just lacking on the quality of their service? We went to the one in Mustang a little while back. It took forever, they had only two waitstaff and one cook. Today, we went and surprisingly got our drink orders in quickly. I had gone back out to the car real quick to grab something. While I was away the waiter came and my fiancé if we were ready to order. She told him, yes he just ran out to the car really quick. The waiter said, "I'll be right back." we sat there watching him fiddle around passing by us several times. Traveling towards Little Rock on I 40. This place is open from 6-2. It is the real deal. I had an egg omelet with sliced tomato and English Muffin. Coffee was excellent and the food was really good. My husband and I are really narrow-minded when we go out to eat for breakfast. We prefer a clean table, two sets of napkins/silverware, cream for our coffee, and we like to place our order within 20 minutes of sitting down. Not narrow-minded, you say? We had to ask for each of these things on our last trip to Jimmy's. Our waitress did warn us that she had a lot of tables, but there's a pretty big team at Jimmy's that could've pitched in and everyone else seemed to be moving quickly. The food was reliable Jimmy's: buttery, filling and served hot off the flat-top grill. I was able to get an egg white veggie omelet with fruit and a sweet potato pancake so that I didn't feel like a manatee when I left so that's a bonus. We will likely be back the next time we need some greasy hangover food, but we probably won't be regulars. read more

I just went to the doctor yesterday and she told me to lose weight, eat healthier, reduce my carb intake, and watch my blood sugar levels. Jimmy's has healthy choices for breakfast so I thought I would give it a try. I ate here with my son today for breakfast/lunch. He had lunch while I had breakfast. We both truly enjoyed our visit. The service was very good and the food was even better. My son had the bacon cheeseburger which he said was about 4 stars. He had a salad with ranch with it that he did not like to well. He likes salad, but did not like the taste of the ranch dressing. He said he would rate it about 2 stars. Keeping my new diet in mind, I had the Big Jim omelette. It is a five egg omelette with up to ten ingredients. I had it with ham, bacon, sausage, green onions, spinach, potatoes, and American cheese times 4. This came with a side of hash browns and biscuits and gravy. They were all extremely good. I made a happy plate like I was taught to do when I was a child. I can't wait to see this new diet work for me. I can already feel the weight falling off. If you want low carbs and fat in your diet, you should follow in my footsteps. I have had breakfast at this location many times and found it very good, however, this time it was marginal. I had a newer offering from the menu that came with what was supposed to be hollandaise sauce but was a thick cheese sauce instead. The grits I ordered were gritty and under cooked. I love Jimmy's Egg and this is the location I come to whenever I visit one. Other then a few isolated incidents, I have always had good service here. The most important thing to me is the amazing food. No matter what else I am getting, I always have to order at least a couple sweet potato pancakes. They are to die for. The other unique pancakes of theirs that I love are the oatmeal raisin cookie pancakes. Yum. Other notable breakfast items are their egg burger and the Santa Cruz breakfast sandwich. If you get the Santa Cruz, you should definitely have them add bacon. It becomes even more than the sum of its parts. The hashbrowns are good, though I prefer their home fries. The food and service were fine. Pretty standard breakfast fare and they don't really mess it up. Would it kill them to clean the ceiling of the dining area? There's so much dust built up on and around the air vents that it's straight up gross that they let it get that bad. Makes me wonder how clean the kitchen and storage areas are. This place has the worst service EVER!! I always sit at the bar so I can see in the kitchen. Well...first off, I sat there today for about 5 min without anyone speaking to me. Just as I was getting ready to leave I was asked for my drink. After placing my order in watching the waitress come and get their plates. There's always this one older lady that grabs all the bread with her bare hands after coming from the floor. That's not it, I look into the kitchen and notice two women looking hard at a loaf of bread trying to decide if they want to use it or not. They then pick something off of it and throw it on the grill. One notices me looking and go back and says something in Spanish and starts laughing. Then I witness one waitress with her hands full walking to take food to the customers and has the hardest, ugliest sneeze and guess what. She had no hands to cover her mouth, so it sprays all over the good and in the air. At this point I'm grossed out. This use to be my favorite place, but it's going downhill. The staff is rude and just complains about each other. Even the guy taking orders over the phone was rude to the person on the line. Nobody looks happy any working here and they've all been here for a while. Needless to say.. the place was pretty slow abs it still took about 15 min to get my food. I seen it sitting there for about 5 minutes before the waitress even decided to check on it. Ugh. This is turning into the Popeyes of customer service in this type of restaurant. read more

Pop in, get the patty melt, then off to Lowe's to buy powder that kills ants. My place is infested with them. But the patty melt is literally mouth watering and the service is good.
