You can't go wrong with Jimmy's Egg. It is truly difficult to mess up breakfast in my honest opinion. The service here was decent and the food came out very quickly. I brought my toddler and the speedy service really helped. I would probably not come back though because I was not too impressed with the amount of food I got for the price I paid. The moment I walked in, was greeted, seated, and asked if I wanted coffee. The waitress was ready to pour me a cup. That was pretty stellar.

This is a good, local, divey place; not fancy or pretentious. I would call it more of a casual dinner experience. Wait staff was extremely friendly, food came out hot and fast. Everything was tasty and we are likely to eat here again.

My favorite breakfast item is the traditional breakfast with scrambled egg, hashbrowns, chicken fried steak, and biscuits and gravy.

When you walk in there is a upgraded diner feel. We were seated immediately and greeted by our waitstaff with a smile. One of the differences is that they have mimosas and other drinks available. The food is fantastic. We started with beignets that are served with Carmel, chocolate and mixture of maple syrup, peanut butter and bits of bacon. The is definitely on a higher level than a standard diner. The menu selection has a mixture of breakfast, brunch and lunch selections. The prices are very reasonable. Gage, our waiter was very professional and helpful. He guided us through the menu and helped us make good choices. We started with three mule cocktails. We had the Oaxacan, the Moscow and Kentucky Mules. Everyone enjoyed the cocktails. One thing that stood out to me for my Oaxacan Mule is that the Mezcal's smoky flavor really shown through and it was not overly sweet. A very clean cocktail, which I highly appreciate! We ordered the Chef's Salad Wrap with Onion Rings, French Dip with the tomato soup, and the Philly Cheesesteak sandwich with seasonal side of grits. I enjoyed the Chef's Salad Wrap but I would probably be a little more bold next time and get the Cortez or the Reuben. I craved a lighter choice and was more sinful with the over the top delicious onion rings! Wowowow! Hubby enjoyed his soup and French dip and son enjoy his Philly cheesesteak and grits. I would definitely love to revisit and try more of their items.

The bacon and cheeses seem to do the heavy flavor lifting but wasn't quite enough. The rest of the entrees were fine (cheesesteak & caprese sandwiches, the spinach salad). If you arrive during a busy time, you may have to wait--but the breakfast is worth it. We arrived around 10:30 a.m., still in time for breakfast but a little too early for lunch. I ordered sunny-side-up eggs, crispy hash browns, sourdough toast, and a ham steak. That ham steak was outstanding--exactly what a breakfast ham steak should be! My wife ordered eggs over medium with crispy hash browns, crispy bacon, and a biscuit with gravy. Her only disappointment was the biscuit and gravy. She thought the biscuit was difficult to cut and the gravy needed more flavor. Naturally, I decided we also needed a pancake to share! It was spot-on, and one pancake was the perfect size for the two of us. Taylor, our server, was fantastic--friendly, helpful, attentive, and easy to talk with. Bottom line: Rocky Mountain Grill is what a classic neighborhood diner should be--good, honest breakfast food served right. If you're looking for a great breakfast spot, give it a try. We'll definitely be back to explore the lunch menu next! Solid 4 stars! Now this is my kind of place! Rocky Mountain Grill is small, quaint, and nicely decorated, with roughly 10 tables.
