The food was terrible, the service was lack luster, just an overall bad experience. My grilled chicken was burnt, I had wanted to ask for some honey mustard for it but our waitress never checked on us even when serving the table right next to us, my husband has an autoimmune condition that makes it extremely difficult to swallow, he has to have liquid to push the food down, his tea sat empty for so long I had to give him my water so he could eat. She finally refilled his tea, I didn't bother asking for the dressing because my chicken was gone by that point. The turnip greens were so bland I had to add salt, the macaroni and cheese was extremely bland, my husband's dumplings were beyond salty and the creamy sauce they should be in was so watered down it was ridiculous. The fried okra was barely warm and not crunchy at all. Seriously the worst food I've ever had a Cracker Barrel. My husband's tea sat empty again, so he had to steal my water again to be able to swallow. We will never return to this location. The restaurant as a whole just felt dirty. The menus were worn and tattered and sticky and the glass on the doors was covered in greasy finger prints at noon on a weekday so definitely lacking in the cleaning. I haven't been to a Cracker Barrel in probably a decade. I actually decided to go because I can't find any more sixlets and the internet said Cracker Barrel has some. I did not find any sixlets but I did find so much more "vintage" candy. Halloween decor is hugely discounted and stocked up on some ornaments. I forgot how beautiful the items they carry in their shop are. We did get lunch, our server was a bit inattentive given the small amount of people dining. It wasn't anything make or break I totally understand they likely needed to spend more time with elderly customers which I understand and appreciate. Honestly the food was a lot more bland than I remembered but I also know I can add salt and seasonings myself to how I like it. Given their primary customers are elderly I think this is great idea for folks trying to eat healthy :) The menu was incredibly different than what I remember it. The inside is definitely different updated paint and looks like they returned a lot of the old decorations which I thought was a nice upgrade with the paint :) The only reason I'm leaving 5 stars is because my food was not flavortown for me at all - this may not be on them as I had a procedure done but couldn't eat or drink for over 13hrs. I was extremely hungry when we got our food but only finished one side and a few bites. It just didn't taste that great to me. My husband's meal was phenomenal so I'm thinking my procedure may have just messed up my flavortown tasters. Hoping that was the case anyway. We ate here a couple of months ago and had a mostly good experience and left a four star review. Last night we went again, thanks to a 20% off coupon in my inbox. In comparison to our previous Friday night experience where the food was fresh and delicious, last night's Monday evening dinner was stale and old. The pot roast was burned and obviously old, extremely salty, there was no gravy to speak of, and only two small carrots. The mashed potatoes were dry and looked reheated. The hash brown casserole was also stiff and not at all like it usually tastes. My husband ordered the chicken and it was dry and reheated. When the server finally came to check on us, I mentioned the pot roast was almost inedible and he offered to give me a different entree. He came back within 60 seconds with a piece of chicken I requested, but it was also dry. We were really disappointed overall, especially compared to our previous experience. For the first time ever, we left food on our plates and did not even take a to go box. We learned a lesson not to go on a day when the restaurant is not busy. Incidentally, the server removed the charge for my pot roast without even being asked, which I take as an admission that he realized it should not have been served. I appreciate the gesture, but my greater concern is that old food is going out to tables. Finally, biscuits were not brought until the entrées were delivered, which was a disappointment. This adventure begins with my M.I.L meeting up with my husband and I in Muskogee for our annual Memorial Day cemetery run up around OKC/Edmond. We figured we would go on Saturday, since it was gonna be the better day of the whole Memorial Day weekend. So after we got done with out last stop at Memorial Park Cemetery (behind the Bob Howard Auto Mall Dealership on Kelly, we made a little trip up the road, to Cracker Barrel before taking old Rt66 home for the day). We came in and got a table, which the hostess put us in a table in the back corner by the emergency exit( like we were bad kids in a corner at a family get together), after weaving us through the restaurant to get there. She had asked at the stand if anyone wanted a breakfast menu and we said one please. Our waitress came and got our drink orders which were a strawberry mimosa with a water on the side for after the mimosa(which i was properly ID for- great job on that.Most waitstaff members don't remember to do that), a sweet tea and a bottle of rootbeer that was requested with our meal. Our meal consisted of two vegetable plates( my M.I.L and myself with our selections and a meatloaf plate for my husband), with a side of cornbread and biscuits that our waitstaff member automatically brought our and never gave us a choice if we would like them( staff members...always remember to ask your customer service, never make an assumption). By the time we asked for an box and finished our meal, she had brought us our ticket and put it on the table(or what we thought was our ticket), so we were headed out with our leftovers and we got to the register, and my M.I.L discovered the waitstaff member had not double checked the ticket before placing it down. It was the totally wrong ticket, so the cashier had to call the manager to come over and undo the mess. She had to go into the register and find our order after letting her know what we had, she found it and got the situation resolved thankfully, we were very appreciative of her time to go through and find the proper ticket. As to the vibe of the restaurant it was like any other cracker barrel we have been to in the US. I hope that the staff will take that extra second or two before placing the ticket on the table to confirm it is the right one.That extra time you take to do that, will save you and your customer a disaster at the register when checking out and make for a more positive experience overall. Also, do not automatically assume anything. It is better to take the time to ask your customer if they want something. I would love also to know if Cracker Barrel does any Gluten Free options. If they do, then maybe have an insert of those items of have them clearly marked with a GF marking. Honestly to get that 5th star, you will need to have your waitstaff be on point(that means double checking the order, the ticket etc...) read more

My husband had a breakfast meal and it was good for him. I made a mistake and ordered the bowl of beans. It was terrible in presentation, taste, and heat; it was just a bowl of mush. My second mistake was not refusing to accept the dish. Our server was very nice and the manager was nice. My third mistake was not being honest with them about my meal. I must admit I kinda took it personal. She didn't ask me anything just took items start ringing up, when I asked a question she acted like I had four heads. I love everything about Cracker Barrel! The Restaurant & the Country Store remind me of the parts of my childhood spent in the Midwest in a little town. My daughter, son-in-law, and I chose to eat here just before I was heading to the airport to fly back home to CA. We were pleasantly pleased to be seated without much of a wait. It was so quick that we ordered our food and then I went back out to the store to take a look around. They have a lot of very cute merchandise! They sell candies, sodas, household decorations, clothing, and knick knacks! It's such a great place to bring your family! We saw Biscuit Beignets on the menu and were intrigued! We just had to try them. So glad we did because they were the highlight of the meal! They are basically fried biscuits served with a Butter Pecan Sauce for dipping them into. Soooo super yummy!! Everything came out hot and delicious! We got Grandpa's Breakfast (Country Fried Steak), Bacon n Eggs Breakfast with a side of Fried Apples, & a Smokehouse Breakfast. The food here is always tasty. All of us got some form of pancakes this time, all different, and we all liked them! The only issues we tend to run into is wait times for food and the service. Sometimes it takes awhile before our server comes to the table to greet us, or it takes a minute before the drinks come to the table. We came in to this restaurant around 8:30. Closing time 10:00. They were kind of busy but not busy enough to justify the attitude this waitress had. We got our food. My shrimp came in a small bowl which was fine because it was ordered as a side. No issues with that. When the waitress delivered the food , I asked her for a small plate and the waitress didn't respond and then walked off. My husband said,"maybe she didn't hear you. The waitress brought the plate and literally leaned into my husband and loudly said, I heard her!! I couldn't believe that. I've eaten a lot of places in 60 years and NEVER had that happen. The manager stopped by and told us that the fried chicken meals (2) at our table were "delayed" but would be out in 6min. So they brought the other two meals and the SIDES of the other two meals for our KIDS, all the while forgetting the side for my wife's meal. 20 minutes later our boys chicken finally showed up and was set on the table with no apologies. We stopped here for a late dinner after enjoying Christmas lights and were so happy with everything. Casual, cozy, friendly, homestyle meal. Great service. Very surprised the prices hadn't increased in the many years since we had been to any Cracker Barrel. Tee management did an excellent job of customer flow. Our waitress Angela, for her first Thanksgiving there, was beyond great! Very efficient, wanted for nothing, courteous and friendly. Turkey dinner offering was perfect, not too much, not too little. Hot and tasty. Took pie home. We called ahead, given 20-30 wait, got there, wife checked in and seated before I got truck parked. Arrived at 8:25 pm. Not busy. 5 employees at the front counter. After almost five minutes the only one busy asked if she could help me. I asked for three pies. She said they had them and called the back to have them brought out. I waited a while and the line got long to check out so I thought I should get in it. One lady working to check people out. Then I noticed the 5 people in front of me were all employees. Sone doing their shift check out and sone paying for purchases. I find it odd waiting behind employees to check out but my pies were not out yet so what the hell. After getting checked out, 25 minutes has passed since I walked in, I caught a manager walking by and asked about my pies. He asked what I had ordered and went yo the back. I'm happy to report that 40 minutes after walking in I was able to leave with some items that did not need prepared or cooked. Unbelievably slow. read more

This was a bad place. I am currently there and they told me they were out of chicken tenders how does that happen. Then they proceeded to have all of my family's food ready and seemed just to have forgotten or not told me that they had no chicken tenders. They also ran out of french fries. Chicken is a big part of cracker barrel so this was not okay to be. Our table was also very dirty when we sat down and had multiple spills. Food was okay, service was not great and the cleanliness of this place was not to where it should be. Piss poor service and care. Took 25 minutes to get seated and the restaurant was only 1/3rd full. I know people are hard to find, but it might be cause you're a horrible place to work?!?!? I'm not going to lie... historically Cracker Barrel is everything I hate (chain restaurant, hoky, usually insanely busy, and not many vegetarian options). We came here on a busy Sunday. It took about an hour to get a table for 8 people. This is obviously normal for the Barrel on a busy day. After we were finally seated, our server was prompt and efficient at getting us coffees and waters. Even though it was loud AF in there, she got all our orders correct and repeated them to us. I opted for the egg sandwich with a side of fried apples. I was pleasantly surprised that it was good (and they have ample variety of hot sauces to spice it up). Naturally, you can't go wrong with the fried apples either. This is the kind of place I would never go to if it was my idea... but if you're in a group of people who love these types of things, it ain't actually bad. I did require a snack in the parking lot due to the long wait... If you're a hanger person like me, I would highly recommend that you bring a snack along too. read more

My wife and I have been here many times over the years based on our memories of how good this place used to be . We have seen a steady decline in the food quality recently. We recently went to try it again, hoping they have turned it around. Service was very good. Both of our meals were edible but barely. They have changed the hashbrown casserole to now having no taste. This was once one of my favorite things on the menu. My wife's turkey was so tough she had to cut it with a knife. Both of our meals came out cool to room temperature. The manager came to check on us and took both meals back to "remake them". They came back hot as they should have been to start. Do they not have a kitchen manager to check every dish for temp quality before it leaves the kitchen? Obviously not. The portions have gradually decreased in size over time but the prices have gone up. I regret to say this but Cracker Barrel is no longer a good place to eat. read more
