My go to spot in Edmond is Sunny Side Diner. I order the corned beef hash every single time and it never misses. It's so well seasoned and cooked perfectly, with that balance of crispy and tender that makes it hard to stop eating. You can tell they don't skimp on flavor. Stopped for a birthday brunch. The Monte Cristo was unique and tasty. It came with an extra side of jam, but actually wish there was more PB. The steak and eggs were delicious for the birthday boy, but he was disappointed that he could taste the sweetness of French toast on the plate. The chocolate PB French toast was crazy packed with PB.... Now I know why there wasn't enough for the Monte Cristo! Ambiance is loud outside as you're right next to the busy Edmond Road intersection. I've eaten here before, so not my first rodeo! The pros: it's a beautiful open space for outdoor dining. If you have small kiddos they can entertain themselves. The building use to be a auto mechanic shop in downtown edmond. The cons: parking is a drag, due to location downtown! The place is normally busy during breakfast or brunch and indoor seating can be a challenge. The waitress/server is not very attentive due to be so busy. She comes around but never gives you eye contact so I literally had to track another server down. My order wasn't perfect but I just accepted the mix up. The blueberry lemon pancakes were pretty but nasty. Never ever never ever will I order that again. The coffee which is normally mild was very strong today. I'm a 2 or 3 cup gurl but today a half of a cup. No one asked about my meal but when it was time for the check I mentioned those pancakes that I didn't eat. Sunnyside Diner on a Sunday morning is busssssyyyy. We were seated inside because the outside tables were full on this beautiful morning. This is my third visit here with different guests each time. The diner has a lot of people on staff and our waiter stayed busy, while the others working the floor were apt to looking out for tables with constant eye contact. Our guests ordered a mimosa that took a considerable amount of time to come out. For me, this diner is consistently a four star experience. Great food, good service, but a few details were missed this visit like a dirty coffee cup with old gravy in it and a sticky table. If you're worried about parking, there's a parking lot on the corner of S littler and 2nd street that is a short walk to the diner, with access to electric charging stations. read more

I take back what I said about the OKC downtown location being my favorite. THIS location is my new favorite! When I walked in I was awwing at how cute it is! We were greeted immediately from the bartenders and we sat down with them. Service was perfect and the food left me in a good mood for the rest of my day. I ordered the chicken fried steak which never fails me there and it's such a great price, $13.99 I think for a huge plate of food. I think this location is new so if you haven't checked it out, please do. The bar reminds me of an old school diner but there are plenty of tables to sit at indoor and outdoor. Today out of caution I asked if they had a dedicated fryer. They do not! Cross contamination happens every time you order potato's at the diner. We've made several tries and keep getting disappointed. The food is good and the servers are very nice. This place is not managed well. Dirty bathrooms, no toilet paper in one stall, and the food takes a very long time to arrive after ordering. We checked in on Yelp on our way from church and it said 5 minutes and no one in line in front of us. When we got there, we were told it was a 20 minute wait and there were several in front of us. Parties of 2 were seated in tables made for 6. If Yelp isn't going to be honored, that option needs to be removed. read more

I took my friend here for a birthday brunch for her per her request. I wasnt so sure looking at the outside of the restaurant. As soon as I got there all the staff were super friendly and I was given a table outside where we felt safer. I had the hardest time picking out a meal because every single item on the menu looked SO GOOD! I landed on one of their burgers and my friend got their Benedict. Both were fantastic! I highly highly recommend! As a bonus, they have corn hole and other outside games for children/adults. One thing that makes them unique is they're affordable. Their typical breakfast starts out at $6. The food comes out quickly and service was great. I'd think it's hard to mess up breakfast food, really. I ordered the traditional breakfast, the Sunnyside Special.. where I got hash brown, toast, and a choice of meat. I chose bacon. My son devoured all the bacon and half a slice of toast. What I really like is their unique straws. They're super sturdy and cute. Perfect for a toddler to use. They also have lids that go over their glass so it doesn't spill. Right away we were brought crayons and coloring paper. We visit here for my birthday breakfast. Definitely a special place for me. What an absolute treat. Do not wait another moment...go eat here. This morning, after being trapped in the house from days of icy roads, it was time to take my beautiful wife out for breakfast. We slid out of our neighborhood and headed over to Sunnyside. We ate inside because it was extremely cold this morning. Our server, Alex, was quick with a cup of coffee and some suggestions from the menu. I was amazed at all of the delicious offerings. Everything is scratch made and it shows. My gorgeous wife is a pescatarian and the menu options were vast and included Vegan options. I, on the other hand, am an avid meat eater. There were plenty of options for me too. My smoking hot wife had the Plant based Poutine. It was fries covered with green chili gravy, scrambled tofu (ugh), chorizo, vegan cheese, green onions and Jalapeños. She thought it was amazing. I went for the more mainstream option, chicken fried steak and eggs which was AMAZING. In fact, I would say, without hesitation, the best chicken fried steak I have EVER eaten. That is a HUGE statement because I have had my share of chicken fried steak in my life. I have a difficult time describing just how good this was. You just need to go give it a try. Alex was an excellent server with a excellent knowledge of the menu. Trust his suggestions. The coffee is robust and was just what I needed after a white knuckle drive on the ice getting over there. It was worth every butt pucker as the car slid around each corner. I can't wait to return and further explore the menu here. I am not quite sure where to start. The service was terrible. Waited 15 min before getting up and going inside to place it. Had to ask another server for a coffee refill. Food took 20 min. Food came, serve dropped a piece of bacon on the table without comment. Fried potatoes were fried to the point of being saw dust. Grilled avocado was a scoop of guacamole. Toast was cold and the jelly was so runny it could be poured Didn't see our serve until she brought the check and finally asked how everything was, and then offered to remake the potatoes. I would understand is they were busy, but we were the 3rd table there. Service was awful and left no tip. *Rant-since COVID we all can agree service has gone downhill, yet every business wants us to tip their employees. Until we stop tipping for poor service and only tipping for good or better service nothing will change. read more

I have tried this restaurant a couple times and both times I haven't been super impressed. I really want to like this place because of the awesome patio right on the corner of downtown Edmond. Great spot for people watching and very kid and dog friendly; they give the four legged guests a bowl of water and the kids can play games (connect four, corn hole, etc.) while they wait for their food. So that's the cool part about the diner. Their downfall is the service and sub par food. Both times we have had to wait to be serviced, for drinks and food. This last time we dined here they were out of bacon, BUT didn't notify me. When my breakfast was delivered to the table I mentioned that I ordered bacon not sausage, their response was they were out of bacon which is why they put sausage on my plate (as if I would not notice). Of course I laughed and asked why they didn't tell me when I ordered, or tell me BEFORE my food came out. At this point they started asking me what I wanted jn the place of bacon (a little backwards right?). 10 minutes later the waitress said they were going to comp my food. In my opinion this is not the best breakfast food in town, but if you're going to hang out with your pup or family, and as long as you're not in a hurry to eat sub par food, then this spot will be the perfect place for you. The outdoor area is charming and the bar makes for a unique sitting option. The food variety was perfect.
