Had a fender bender right before our daughter's wedding, so we were in a time AND money crunch. We'd been to Jim's Auto before, so returned to them, thinking we were going to be responsible for 100% of repairs. Come to find out, we had uninsured motorist coverage for our situation but the very reasonable quote they had originally given us remained the same. We were impressed with their honesty and didn't bump anything up despite some insurance coverage coming into play. We were completely impressed with the repair work they did, but somehow the undercarriage on the opposite side of the car (which had previously been repaired with a zip tie) dropped down and I called them at 6:45 a.m., expecting to leave a message, but Paul answered and told me to bring it right back in and they fixed it for me within 10 minutes of me walking in the door! Talk about SERVICE!! They also went above and beyond the repairs for the current accident and fixed a couple more things they found inside without adding to my quote. Great experience with this shop through Progressive. Was called by them to go over teardown. They answered all of my questions and gave me background info to help explain. I felt fully comfortable with thier service at this point. They indicated best case schedule and noted based on availability of parts it could fall back. Car was complete on the early timeline proior to weekend - where it would have just sit. I am used to a shop behind schedule and making excuses.. these guys are fully communicating and getting after it. I had passed them my car completely filthy. It came back washed and gleaming. No issues with paint - no overspray (where new paint goes on to old surfaces) - no underspray (where you get orange peel texture). They reinstalled my radiator protector - basically a roof gutter screen zip tied in there - a common DIY for the Element. Notewkrthy because it shows care beyond what 'the price book' allots and pays for. Great service and great care by Jims for this repair back in June. read more

Best place! I've had my car rear-ended twice and both times I brought my car here. Both times I had great professional service. I was dealing with Dana at Jim's who was very cool and explained everything. He also had my car ready a day early! I just got my car back yesterday and it really looks great! I had a coffee spill on my headliner in the accident and they got it immaculately clean! My husband and I were very happy with their service! In December 2016 my RAV4 was in an accident and I needed it up and running ASAP. The body shop I usually go to in Walnut Creek could not take my car for two weeks! I reached out to Jim's and they could take it right away. Every step at Jim's was timely and they went out of there way to assist me including little extras that I didn't even ask for. When does anyone ever over deliver any more these days without a catch?! There was no catch - they simply went above and beyond typical car repair service standards. They made having a driver hit me a tolerable experience. Both times I've been hit prior the process to get it in and then out of the body shop was the hardest part other than dealing with insurance. However Jims not only helped me when I brought my car in, but when I was calling all the shops prior to getting a claim number, Jims was very up front and honest about their times. During the actual process they kept in contact regularly, left brief concise messages when I missed their call, and didn't miss a scheduled call once. The car also has been running like normal since I got it but most shops are good at that part. I'm not going to use any other body shop after this experience and I HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone needing body work done. I wish I remembered the names of the two receptionists that helped me and the gentleman who guided me through the process on what the repairs would be. read more

Went in to have car repair using Geico insurance. Was immediately told that I had to make an appt with Geico myself and return to have Geico do the estimate. They then tell me that Geico was NEXT DOOR. Since it was Saturday and difficult for me to coordinate with one car I simply asked whether I could just leave my car with Jim's and have them handle the interface with Geico, using the claim number I already received to handle the estimate, then do the repair. One trip for me, they get the business -- easy, or so I thought. As Jim's Auto told me, Geico is next door so I didn't think that getting an appointment next week and taking the car next door was a terribly difficult or troublesome request of Jim's since I was already there and it is difficult for me to get a ride another time to drop off the car (again). Talking with the first woman to help me this was obviously more service than they wanted to handle (they told me they have "a procedure") but I said nothing and waited to talk to Jim's Geico coordinator. While I start to fill out Jim's Auto intake form this Geico coordinator guy tells me that I look irritated then asks me what is wrong. So I make the mistake of answering him, telling him that I am an old guy used to years past where there was actually service provided by companies. At no point was I abusive in any way but I did answer his question confirming I was not happy. Instead of simply closing the issue by saying that they would do their best to provide reasonable service , HE evidently wanted to fight since he then starts in on me telling me I have no right to be irritated with them (which I only actually expressed after he asked) and he doesn't want my business. (He must not have liked the idea of a customer actually telling the truth and/or wanting some service.) Bottom line is I went down the block to another shop that is taking care of everything for me and even offered me a ride home without me asking. Life can be very easy but choose the right auto repair shop. They might actually do great body work at Jim's but if you want service, let alone service with a smile my recommendation is to go somewhere else. read more

I was at Jim's Auto Body (Concord location) to meet the claims adjuster from my insurance company for damage done to my car while it was burglarized. The adjuster never showed up. Fortunately I had read Jim's glowing reviews on Yelp the night before and knew that I wanted them to do the work. Steve (and Sylvia!) absolutely saved the day: made a few phone calls, did my estimate, listened to my woes, and took care of everything with the insurance company. So, a couple of months ago, this guy parked next to me at the (TOTALLY EMPTY) library parking lot. He then flung his door open, right into the side of my car. He didn't realize I was sitting in my car, but we took a look and everything looked fine. He walked off feeling like a giant doofus with me thinking he was a giant doofus. It hit right at the hinge where the door opens. Well, no. It was bent just enough to be invisible to see but to scrape just a TEENY little bit when you opened the door. Today I stopped by Jim's Auto Body to see what it would take to get it fixed. Pete came out, took a look, and pressed in JUUUUST the right spot to fix it. He suggested I go to the dealer and get some touch-up paint and I'm good to go. Best part? NO CHARGE! These guys did a great job last time I got run into and this was just the icing. read more

Took my car in for an estimate on some minor scratches, quoted me a price of $885 without looking too deeply at the scratches. Took it to another shop immediately after, and they buffed out in the scratches in 10 minutes free of charge. Would only take my car here if insurance was paying full amount. read more

I had work performed at Jim's on my Chevy Impala after someone backed into my parked car while I was at work. They repaired the bumper back to pristine condition. A couple of days after picking up my car after the repairs, I opened the trunk of my car and noticed that the plastic panel had tons of scrapes done to it (that was not there before I dropped the car off at Jim's) *Note I failed to look inside the trunk before leaving Jim's the day I picked it up*. I was curious as to how this happened as it was not like this before I dropped it off at Jim's and I do not haul stuff in the back of my trunk. I sent an e-mail to Darren on Saturday after they had already closed. Darren contacted us Monday morning and said that "they ordered the part and will repair my trunk once it is in". The part came in and Jim's repaired the trunk at no cost. Dana, Darren, and other Jim's employees have excellent customer service and repaired my car back to excellent condition. read more
