So I have been eating here since my family came back in '80 since my Dad retired from the Air Force! This location is still the same, a couple have popped up across town but this is the original. Back when I was in high school,across the street from Jim's was a field where during the summers car shows would be held and on the weekends there was always some rods in the parking lot. Now the field is Townhomes. Anyway such is progress? But the burgers and shakes are still the best, sure their are your chains, and expensive places that have shoestring fries and today's potatoes are from, who cares? Where else are you going to get a 6" round burger? And where else are you going or can fried hotdogs on a hamburger bun? Yes I said fried hotdogs! Onion rings are onion rings not an onion blossom or pedal or whatever kind of onion surprise you may get. You can also get a authentic coke and the real deal holyfield shakes or malts. The only problem with those is trying to not drink the whole thing before you eat your burger. And for the ladies they have 4" burgers for you but if your not there for the 6" why be there at all? JK. They are just as tasty. There are other appetizers and sides and they offer combo meals but in my opinion the burgers are the main attraction. The inside is eye candy if you are a car enthusiast, and even if not you would have an appreciation for the vintage cars that contained real V8's under the hood that are wrapped with steel fenders and quarter panels and seats big enough so your best girl could sit next to you and wrap your arm around her while your cruising the strip on a Friday and Saturday night. Sorry , got lost in the moment/memory that the ambience and past of my youth this place brings me back to. Alot of time when I'm here I look across the street at the townhomes and sometimes they dissappear and the field is back with the flagged color ribbon lining the street and the cars are there too. They were average burgers. It was good just not as good as some other chains that are around which is a bummer because I would rather support local than a chain. The shakes could use a little more flavor. I wished the cherry shake had bits of cherry in it like some ice creams. The onion ring basket and fries were lack luster and barely filled the paper "basket". The dynobites though were an unexpected surprise. I am used to solid fried cheese curds versus gooey cheese. I drove maybe 10 minutes out of my way from my house to have a burger not made by the corporate monsters. The burger and the shake were great. I'm guessing I caught someone at the end of their shift, she came out fro kitchen and was on phone. I let her know they were out of ketchup not realizing she was on phone. She told person on phone she had to go, looked at me, moved the dispenser towards her and I think she said it was full. I stood there to watch and yes it was full, but so nasty around the top she had to spray water on it and wipe it off. 1st off gross, second sorry. Not sure if I will be back or not. As a major foodie and cook at home, I don't often do "fast food". We passed by this place and I love to support local so we checked it out. They have been serving up thin smash burgers since 1961! What sets them apart, are the two sizes of burgers available and the customization you can do. 6 inch or 4 inch, and your choice of 1-3 patties. Choice of three different types of cheese. The classic comes with mustard, pickle, shredded lettuce, tomato, and onion. But, you can also opt for a variety of toppings from bacon or ham to red or green chili. Their beef is antibiotic free and 100% Colorado raised. They also have their buns specially made for them by a local bakery that doesn't use eggs or dairy. They were delicious. All of my toppings were fresh. We ordered the Jimmies for our side, which was fries and onion rings. I thought the portion was a little skimpy considering we ordered the large, but such is the times. I ordered the chips as my side and was pleasantly surprised with the thin sliced potatoes that I got. I used to get these at one of my favorite spots at home (and loved them), but hadn't had them in years since they closed. Yay!! I love the whole vibe of the place too. It was clean and definitely a 50s diner feel. I loved singing along to the oldies while I waited for my food. There is plenty of parking here and they have a drive thru. Food is still good all these years. It's been 20 years since I came back due to it being on the other end of town. Onion rings, malt and the double 6" burgers brought back a lot of memories. I'm so glad I came back for the food. The service lost a lot of the small businesses appeal. The quality of the cashier or the terminology has gone down hill and made my ordering experience with tons of mistake. I will never come back!!! Today I came through drive-through for an onion ring and a grilled cheese sandwich order, waited 20 minutes to get through the line. No big deal because I thought it would be worth it! However!! They gave me french fries with my order not the onion rings. When I came back as the manager asked me to to get the order replaced this afternoon, that's what I have to pay for the order even though I told them the order number as the manager asked me to tell them. Another "Dining Spree" for our Wedding Anniversary September 25th 2011, we were here for a late lunch, early dinner. We were also running some errands at this part of neighborhood. Time was between 16:35hrs to 17:15hrs. When we arrived at the parking spot, this place seems quiet, empty, and I thought the establishment is closed etc etc. We went inside, all the way to the left wing of this establishment where you make your order. Hurbs order like 3 LARGE patties of hamburger meats, aka Large 6" Burgers while I opt just for a single pattie of Small 4" Burger coz I was not really craving for a Hamburger. We opt our hamburgers to be well done. We also ordered the onions rings and the buffalo chips which was highly recommended by the lady who took our order at the counter. We also order 2 beverages, one Large for Hubs and one small for me. Both of us, like our order. We like it when the Burgers we order were done right, and came out piping hot. Inside this establishment, while waiting for our order to be ready, another couple was dining away. YES, this establishment, reflects the 50s era, of America, old diner, with lots of memorabilia thru the walls and pictures hanging of cars etc etc. At the right side of this establishment, there is a huge TV mounted, and at that time, they are showing one of the American Football games or something. One of staffs of this establishment called our names once our order was ready. You received it at the center of this establishment. All in all an OK dining experience dining in here. The place and the bathroom was kept clean. Nothing stellar nothing fancy. Got a 6" double burger with everything but cheese and a side of onion rings. The sandwich is definitely big, but unfortunately not the taste. White Castles tasted better than these. On a positive note though, I really enjoyed the onion rings. The only other place to match these onion rings are Culver's. They have specialty sandwiches like an Italian sausage or a pork loin. A few hot dogs can be found on the retro menu as well. I had the double with cheese. The burger was the highlight of the meal, the fries were nothing special at all and a bit on the small size, but I've been known to complain about the opposite, so in this case, maybe it was just the outsized burger that made the fries look so puny. The burger was cooked right and served up hot off the grill. The condiment dressing was appropriate and did not get too sloppy after a few bites - so bonus points there.
