Heard about this place from a friend and finally had time to check it out. Very limited seating, a few chairs inside and out. There was a constant line out to-go orders leaving. $2.50 tacos on Tuesday for select meats. We got a side of queso & chips and it was the perfect snack. Tacos were delicious and affordable. Easy meal to sit down and eat or pick up. Very friendly staff, patient with us as we navigated the menu and changed our minds a few times. This being my last review for 2025 couldn't have been a better pick for lunch with my son. Is this a little hole in the wall, yes it is. Seating for 6 at best and mostly a counter and a kitchen. Is this in a location that is just a little unexposed to drive by traffic, yes. It is off Sheridan and 10th Ave between apartment buildings and houses not what you expect. As I drove up to the location it is in a building with an off brand convenience store and a dry cleaners with no other businesses nearby. It's not real inviting from the exterior or even the interior as far as that goes. This is a classic case of " don't judge a book by It's cover " or you'll be missing out on a real gem for customer service and tasty eats. We were greeted upon arrival by a very pleasant lady behind the counter. We took one of the three small empty tables and studied the menu. You order at the counter and most of the customer traffic while we were there was Doordash type orders and the to go orders were steady. My son ordered three tacos and a bottle of Coke. I ordered the breakfast burrito with bacon as the protein and smothered with green chili. This is rare but my son raved about the tacos, not just that they were good. He stated that he would definitely be returning to repeat the experience. He said he could taste every ingredient used to make his tacos. My breakfast burrito was very tasty, every ingredient was cooked to my expectation. The eggs were fluffy, bacon crispy but not burnt and the hash browns cooked to perfection. The star of this dish for me was the green chili that smothered an already delicious breakfast burrito. We both agreed this was one of the best lunches we have enjoyed over the years. Don't be put off by the location or the exterior, its worth a visit. The service was good, food was excellent, the place was clean and the prices were reasonable. I don't know the story behind this restaurant but I hope going forward they get good business demand because good food and good service should be appreciated. In the last three or more years service has certainly declined and good food is harder to find at reasonable prices. I will be back when I am in the area to try other dishes and my son who lives not too far away says it is his new taco place. I would invite other Yelper's to give it a try. read more

This is a quintessential hole in the wall joint that provides good food with no frills at all reasonable price. They offer the standard American style breakfast burritos which are hefty for the cost, the chorizo has a small bit of spice. The salsa that comes on the side should be spicier, as it has none. At long last. A taco place. In Broomfield. That serves real, delicious, mouth watering tacos. This is my families new go too. Hungry and don't want to cook? My wife and I shared a chicken nachos and were thoroughly impressed with its freshness and flavor. We look forward to trying other items on the menu in the future. The one drawback, if it even is one, is that it was hard to find. There are no signs on the outside of the building letting you know it's there. It is the kitchen for the bar. To satisfy my taco craving I frequently go to a certain place in Lafayette or another in Northglenn, but today I was pleasantly surprised to discover this takeout spot in Broomfield, which is equally good and much closer to my home. I ordered the Campechano tacos, which were double corn tortillas, filled with a generous amount of asada and chorizo, and topped with onions and cilantro. Not greasy at all. Delicious and inexpensive! Hubby had a smothered burrito and said it was also very good. He confirmed what I had heard about their green chile: it's very spicy! So ironic that I read a great review of this place last night & then my son took me here for lunch. Food was very tasty, lots of depth of flavor. He had a carnitas combo & I had the tacos Al pastor w. 2 kinds of salsa (tough to choose which 1 I liked more) & diced pineapple. On the side were lime wedges & cucumbers, pork was done well not dry & plenty of it. Hubby had the Al pastor quesadilla & it was perfect. There was a nice toast to the tortilla on both sides (not soggy), and the filling ingredients again had a great depth of flavor. He asked for easy on the cheese & it was the perfect t amount. Hopefully going forward they'll have less plastic containers, but I get it they do a lot of takeout business. Try this place, you won't be disappointed. I was at the gun range and I heard the people between magazines on the next lane discussing Mexican food. I am hoping to fire an AR-10 .308 rifle in the near future, but that did not happen tonight. Have been here a handful of times and have never been disappointed! Located in a rustic neighborhood bar (Lake Ave), the food is a hidden gem!!! Everything I have ever had has been fantastic! The tacos are hot and fresh and packed with delicious ingredients! The veggie taco is surprisingly good!! A nice variety of seasoned vegetables that are stuffed in a homemade tortilla! Their green chili is homemade and extremely flavorful. Nice kick to it! The owners are always very attentive and quick to help. Pleasently surprised. 1st time customer, (take-out) with Carnitas burrito, (smothered green $14.00), Chicken Quesadilla, (onion and Cilantro, $15.00), and an order of Sopapillas for dessert, ($8.00). I thought it looked kinda' expensive and thought, "it better be really good for this price". Well, Carnitas was very tender and a very generous portion. Green chile, very good, just spicey enough that I didn't add any hot sauce. Wife liked her Quesadillas (3) plus 3 or 4 little toppings, and the Sopapillas were worth the price. It's hard to screw up sopapillas. $5.00 would be fair, $8.00 is still a little pricey. I will definately put Tacos El Comelon on my favorite carry out list. I was tired of cooking and looking to grab something to-go for dinner when this place popped up on Yelp. I knew exactly where it was at since it's right down the street from me; decided to give it a try. They have a bunch of photos of their food on their website and a lot of great reviews on DoorDash as well. Essentially, it's a kitchen inside of the Lake Avenue Inn. If you want to grab something to go as I did, the kitchen is straight ahead and to the right when you walk inside. They have a really good variety of stuff on their menu. I normally eat tons of spicy food and thought about getting a burrito, but I just wanted a good burger. They delivered! Really good sized burger, with legit bacon, and a huge side of seasoned fries that were perfectly crispy. It was very filling and I could have easily made two meals from it. I am sure I looked out of place since I was the only one there grabbing something to go and trying to figure it out. I talked to the owner(s) a bit when my food was ready, and the woman told me they had been there for about a year and just happened to add themselves to Yelp earlier today. Looking forward to grabbing some more food there again soon, especially some tacos or a burrito! Taco lover here - speaking from experience....these tacos are legit! So fresh and yummy. We enjoyed some carne asada, Al pastor, chorizo, and one that I am forgetting the name of (lol) but ALL were amazing. The Al pastor was the crowd favorite in our group. The small town vibe at the bar was awesome. Everyone seemed to be "regulars" and all had a favorite item on the menu. One fella who appeared to know the chef personally was a fan favorite of a "spicy" Philly (not on menu), the bartender couldn't decide on what to order today "because it is all so good" and opted for an impressive looking quesadilla stuffed to the brim with who-knows-what kind of goodness. The atmosphere was dive bar (in a good way) very Cheers-esque with the bartender knowing all the locals' drink and meal preferences when they walked in the door. Service was appropriate for the made-to-order food. Salsa was the just right kind of spicy for this spice loving girl. As far as the bar goes, there are a few pool tables, some high top tables and booths, plus a few dart boards. Says MUST BE 21 to enter, so families likely need to Door Dash - unsure on this point. Excellent Mexican food. Learned about them at Top Taco and have been ordering from them on a pretty regular basis since and have eaten in once at Lake Avenue Inn. There was an issue with my first to-go order through Yelp where the order was populated on Yelp, but not submitted by me and was somehow submitted to the shop. When they called an hour after my order was submitted letting me know my food has been ready, I showed up to pick up my order and they remade it for me, without me really being deserving of it. Everything that I've had from them has been great, but I have a hard time staying away from the Cali burrito smothered in their green chili.
