As a pregnant lady this is very unsafe. They need to clean their soda machine. This is disgusting!!!!!

    Food L.

The food was okay. Tuna melt had too much dry tuna and not enough oozy melted cheese. The coffee was good. Carne asada fries was not so good because of the cheese. They should use shredded cheese instead of nacho cheese. The ambiance is what it is for the location. The service was okay. Why did the inside of the soda cup have a foul odor? I made the best of my meal. Gutted the tuna sandwich out and dipped it in ranch as I ate ut. Oh! the fries were good. Will I be back? NO

After visiting my mom at White Memorial Hospital I was very hungry and hunger for a burger or pastrami to keep this hungry monster content. I decided to go to Jim's Burger not far from the hospital it's on State and first St and it also walking distance from Mariachi Plaza in Boyle Heights. I walk into the restaurant they lot's of special deals display outside the restaurant. I decided order the Pastrami Madness deal it comes with Pastrami chili cheese fries and a large drink. Couple minutes later my meal was ready pick up then find a seat and take a bite of it. I open the container the Pastrami look so good and the chili cheese fries amazing good. I took a bite of the Pastrami sandwich incredible good the meat was very tender and juicy that's how I like it tender and juicy with great flavors wirh mustard and pickles and bread was so soft I really enjoy it. The chili cheese fries was very good the chili smother the crisy fries was so good. The meal comes with a big drink with Pastrami Madness. I need to come again and try out different items.

    Chili cheese fries with Asada

I ordered some chili cheese fries with Asada. The Asada had no flavor at all. There was barely any chili. It was more like cheese, meat and fries. I wouldn't come here back again. I would not recommend chilli cheese fries with Asada at this place , If you want the chili cheese fries with Asada I recommend for you to go to first street burgers. I just decided to try something new today and the outcome was terrible. That's why my favorite place for chili cheese fries with Asada it's going to be first street burgers. The customer pays for what the customer ask for

    Chicken strip combo

Horribly bland food, the thousand island dressing has as much depth of flavor as water. The chicken strips I ordered were dry and rubbery like chicken feet. The fries tasted undercooked and frozen. The chili was alright being the best food I was served. And when I asked them for hot sauce we were given just that hot flavorless sauce. On request for something more mild or pico de gallo we were handed a cup of mayo. Overall bad experience, but the machine horchata was pretty good.

This isn't a fancy diner or 5 star restaurant but it is the best place to get a fulfilling meal for the cost! I have been coming here since I was a kid so all the nostalgia comes flooding back when I stop by. The workers are cool and I haven't had issues them. I feel like you can never go wrong with a burger and fries, but every now and then I'll throw in some taquitos if I'm feeling EXTRA.

I used to come to this spot back in the day in the '90s when I was a kid maybe my taste buds were different back then but damn the burgers don't taste like I remember they're still good but I remember them being bigger anyways. Still legit spot to grab a decent burger

    Asada fries with pastrami.

Meh, this place is just alright, nothing to brag about. I ordered the asada fries with pastrami. Only a couple of strands of pastrami. The cheese, they use the liquid cheese versus shredded cheese. Half way eating the fries, my fork melted, so I had to get another one. I paid almost $15.00 for this plate along with a small soda with no refill, wouldn't you think that they get better utensils? Just like the 80s Wendy's commercial: "Wheres the beef?"

    Chris Y.

I am very lucky to have found such a wonderful place where I can still get a hamburger with french fries and a drink for less than $10 this is the place I've been looking for for quite a while and they have so many things to offer and they even have a good old fashion ice cream shakes. I've been on a diet lately so I haven't been able to enjoy french fries but today I decided to take a break because I know I'll be working these off over the next week lol but the cheeseburger is absolutely delicious. Everything is made fresh here so be sure to give them about 5 to 7 minutes with each order they have indoor and outdoor seating and even offer a drive-through! I love my meal the french fries were incredible LOL but the cheeseburger will have been coming back!

Parking: Street parking was super easy on a Sunday afternoon, I was able to pull up right in front and park on the street. There is a Super A across the street and ample parking around for free. Ambiance & Food: This reminds me of an old school burger stand. Those were the best burgers and this one did not stop that trend. As I walked up, we were warmly greeted and given a quick rundown of what which burger. They did have specials (I will get to that in a second) which we were intrigued, but for the sake of perspective, I ordered the Goldburger and both regular fries and curly fries with a bottle coke. The Goldburger is naturally a double, but my gymrat protein brain added that extra patty. They use a 70% to 30% mixture for their burger which makes the burger oh so decadent. The picture I took doesn't do it justice. The moment you bite into the burger the combination of burger juice, aioli, burnt skirt, all come together in such a harmonious fashion. It was remarkable. Though fries are not one of my strong points, both fries were crispy and I haven't had any other experience with Curly fries other than Jack in the Box, but these were so much better. I went ahead and dipped the fries in some homemade Aioli and dang, what a combo! Back to those specials, the current special is CHILI, I was intrigued so they gave me a small container of it to try. Man, if I wasn't watching my caloric intake, that would have been the move. It was rich and chunky and not to soggy which some always comes. Give it a try as they said it will be around for sometime. Other than burgers, they do have hot dogs as well. So worth trying both next time. To be perfectly honest, this brought back so much nostalgia for me, I used to go to school in the area and this brought a lot of those memories back. Tasty burgers and a must try for sure if your around! Cheers!

Taking place in the same plaza as Howlin Rays and Lasita in Chinatown, you could certainly tell how busy it was in holiday and weekend. The line has constantly been long and despite there's online pre-order option, it's intermittently off and the price's marked-up. We took prolly good 30mins in the line but once the first bite of their DH Burger hit, it felt totally worth the wait. The medium rare dry aged patty was so juicy that you could even see as you sliced through it. Cooked medium rare certainly nailed it. That sesame bun people have been raving about was indeed so good being crispy and buttery; and their housemade Amboy sauce was just succulent! Made it even better, go for extra bacon for sure and get their fries on the side.

First, the place is located right across from Howlin' Rays in Chinatown. So parking is all around, which is nice. There was a line, to be expected with a top 10 burger, but the line moved pretty fast. I ordered the Amboy DH burger, which is their dry aged patty with American cheese, caramelized onions, pickles and burger sauce on a sesame seed bun. To be ranked as high as it is, my expectations are through the roof and, because of that, it did not meet the expectations. The never is very good, very thick ass well, and the bun had great flavor. What threw it off, for me, was the pickles. The pickles just did not mesh with the other flavors. The pickle is just very potent and dampens all the other great things going on in each bite. Bites that did not have the pickle were so much better. So I would say to get it without the pickle and I feel it will be exponentially better. The being said, while it is a good burger, I feel there are others in LA that beat it in terms of flavo, but I'll put it in my top ten in LA for sure.
