After my boyfriend mysteriously lost the screen to the window in the bathroom, I gave him and ultimatum. Fix the window back to normal one way or another, or else! Yeah, I'm a bit demanding, but hey somebody has to keep him in check. So I was pissed thinking that we're going to have to fork over an arm and a leg for a replacement screen since the windows we have are custom sizes (damn old homes and their weird sizings!). But lo and behold after making a few calls around Jim's came to the rescue. Some companies wanted $100+ to have somebody come out and measure a new screen, this company instead gave my boyfriend directions on how to measure the window and our grand total came up to a whopping $14! I was able to send Dwayne photos via text of the window and Dwayne also came to check it out himself as a free consult. Jim's crew really made my wife's and my day! We had a patio slider with double-plane glass where the seal had broken due to repeated attacks over the years by children and dogs (and by adults with a detectable blood-alcohol content). The broken seal let in moisture and dust over the years, creating the effect of looking through really dirty glass. Jim's Glass offered to replace just the glass, instead of having to replace the entire door set, like some acquaintances had said. Jim and his partner showed up exactly on time, at the start of a window (pun intended) of only 30 minutes, instead of half a day like the cable companies do. They worked professionally and efficiently. You could tell they were a good team, each one knowing exactly what he had to do at each stage. They finished in only half an hour, cleaning the glass, cleaning the rollers and track, and even fixing the broken lock on the door. It's like we travelled back in time to when the house was new! Our sliding glass door stopped sliding so I Yelped for a glass company and came across Jim's. The owner was able to come out the same day despite being very busy with other appointments. Dwayne was a professional from the very beginning. We wanted to replace an outdated bay window in our kitchen and wasn't sure who to go with it. Dwayne came over on a Saturday morning to look at it and gave us a quote *on a 3 day weekend no less. We are remodeling our kitchen and our contractor gave us a ball park price and Jim's Glass came in below it. Today they installed the window and it looks great. They were on time, cleaned up after themselves and courteous though out the entire day. I asked about glass panels on some cabinets and they say they could do them as well. The guys at Jim's glass are awesome!! They are so professional and extremely accommodating!! They made a mirror to fit in a gigantic frame, 68"x 43", I had made elsewhere. They not only did an amazing job they were so detailed! They recognized that the frame was not painted on the inner lip and would have reflected a raw wood colored ring around my beautiful grey wood frame. Any other mirror/ glass place would have probably completed the mirror and would have been done with it. They hung the "giant" for a reasonable fee which was not an easy task. I am so picky that I needed it to hang it level to the eye which translates to "hanging it, stepping away and rehanging it if just centimeters off. Extremely professional!!! If you need glass work...anywhere in the tri-valley save yourself time and $$$ call Jims. Like another reviewer, I too had a broken window at my business in the middle of the night and Duane came and fixed it in under an hour. Even cleaned up all the broken glass. I recently did a major remodel of my master bathroom and my wife wanted glass panels and door for the walk-in shower. Called several glass companies as well as Jims. Should have saved myself a lot of time and just called Jims. Duane came and measured the space before giving a final quote (no charge), spent a half day installing and it is perfect. His price was substantially lower that quotes from Home Depot and Lowe's and another local glass companies. Everyone else had a fee for measuring and if you provided the measurements, there was no guarantee on the fit or installation. Jim gave us a ballpark quote for comparison and said he would come measure but we said it was not necessary at this stage. When we decided to go with Jims,Duane came and spent a half hour taking multiple measurements so the installation was perfect... it was.
