The eggs are so fresh, the cheese so melty, and beautiful bacon cooked to the peak of perfection. It's not heavy on your stomach either. Well, my wife and I were so excited to try Jim's today after reviewing the wonderful reviews here on Yelp. After reviewing their COVID changes noted here on Yelp (ie: masks required by staff), we decided to give it a try. We pulled and found parking bright in front of their large, floor-to-ceiling style windows. As we peeked inside, we noticed none of the staff wearing masks. NONE! Which got me thinking; if they lie about this, what else will they lie about. On another website they said they do daily employee temperature checks. Is this a lie, too? By far one of the best breakfast diner's I have been to. Simple traditional Midwest breakfast menu. Great food, good portions, super fast, friendly service! There is lots of parking outside. I love the local mom and pop. I love breakfast. I love having something close. This place hits all of those marks. The inside can be a little cramped, but it is not too bad. They have a great counter space as well. So all in all, the atmosphere is pretty funky and cool. The food is okay. I have been there a few of times and there is nothing that stood out, which is okay. It was still all good. There is some canned things, there are some frozen things that get baked off, but this is not uncommon these days unfortunately. So they only take cash. Finally was able to make it here after my numerous trips to this town. Business takes me everywhere but I heard of this place a few times during my trips here. My buddy/ co worker/ travel companion is usually the one who does these reviews but i now use yelp so much im trying to convert my old written down notes on to the app so people know what they are getting into. This is one of those places you hear whispers about all over town. Its like they put some kind of edible molly that wears off in 30 min. I say that (jokingly of course) cause its so small and crowded but you dont mind everyone in your personal space. Been there a few times and this time it was so busy we sat at the bar so we didn't have to wait. The food is always good however I may not go back. The waitresses were very busy and when they would get a second they were eating and drinking in plain view of customers- this is very unprofessional. We use to have a go to breakfast place we really liked. It was the ONLY one for the last couple of years... Now we have two!! Jim's open kitchen has now been added to our b-fast place destinations! It's clean and the staff is efficient & friendly. It's the place where the locals go and non locals like to go. I have only been here for b-fast, so I can't comment on lunch or dinner (although m sure we'll try it in the future). But the b-fast food is good! The coffee is good. read more
