This is the Teriyaki Steak Box.
    Michael J.

I went for lunch and had the Teriyaki Steak Box and a house salad. I was there a bit before the normal lunch crowd typically shows up on a Tuesday. I found a table and listened to music while they prepared my food. The vegetables were good, the steak was good too. For $21.94 it was ok. For a quick place to stop and get something to eat it is OK. Not really a place to hang out for a long meal.

Please do not look any further if you want to experience the best Shrimp Tempura I have ever had. The Shrimp Tempura was made to perfection and extremely succulent, paired with the perfect sauce. The Honey Garlic wings were also amazing, which I had with a side of amazing miso soup. Additionally, I would also recommend the calamari. The selection of food they have here is absolutely delightful. The ambiance is a very clean aesthetic, surrounded with awesome art work. Korean food at it's finest.

#4 Spicy Pork Belly: not very spicy, definitely a lot of delicious food.

Great concept to capture the downtown lunch crowd! It is an order at counter then pick up when a bell rings kind of concept. At around noon on Thursday, I got my lunch quickly. There is a large room next to the order room with plenty of seating for singles, couples as well as groups. My lunch box came with a choice of soup or salad also. The spicy pork belly was not all that spicy. I loved all the little bits of panchan, too. The bonus? They use that good, chewy Korean rice! Service was friendly and efficient. Food's quality and quantity both justify the price. My friend and I both agreed that we will be back.

Japchae bento and seaweed salad and Korean grape drink (sorry can't read Korean lol)

So good! Decided so have a lunch date in the park with myself and it was great! She was very friendly and the food came out quietly. Really loved the egg omg!! I could have eaten a plate full. Also that drink is so good it has peeled grapes in it and I really recommend it! Will be trying more bentos in the future!

I eat here offer, everything is fairly priced and tastes good. Service is normally speedy and accurate. Plenty of seating for lunch or small crowds. I would define recommend.

As someone who works downtown, I always love to try new restaurants nearby my work. I walked in today around 1 pm for a late lunch. Hours listed are from 11 am - 2 pm. When I entered the lobby was empty and there were two employees behind the counter. It took me a few minutes to decide what to order. The menu currently consists of fried rice, bento boxes and sushi. The boxes come with house salad or soup, rice, two dumplings and Korean banchan. Boxes range from $13-18 each. I ordered the japchae box for $14, and selected a house salad. My order only took a few minutes to prepare and I was out the door. The house salad was a traditional salad you would get from a sushi or hibachi restaurant. Plain iceberg lettuce with a few carrots and yummy dressing. The bento box was delightful - each item had a compartment. The banchan includes kimchi, fish cakes, egg roll, and bean sprouts. All were good, but kimchi could have been spicier and more fermented. The japchae was traditional and perfect. I only wish soy sauce was included. Instead they included yum yum sauce, which I didn't use since I didn't order any meat. Finally, the fried dumplings were very good and you could taste the meat - very crispy even though I took my order to go. All in all, a yummy and fast Korean meal that was filling. Food is on the more expensive side, so won't be ordering frequently. If the portions were larger I could justify the price. Definitely would recommend a box if you're in the downtown area.

Yummy food for a reasonable price! This local eatery has delicious bento boxes, sushi, and lots of internal seating. We were able to quickly order, find a seat, and eat at 6:30pm on Friday. The food was fresh, yummy, and the perfect portion.

Really enjoyed this new bento place! Chicken katsu was delicious and crispy. Got the miso soup which was very flavorful. The toilet was leaking in the women's bathroom, hopefully they fix that soon, but all in all it's a great new spot to check out!

We were looking for a spot to eat while I was in Louisville for a conference and my sister decided on Jin Doshirak, which was very close to the conference center. The restaurant is more of an order then sit down place, where you pick up your food when they have it ready but otherwise don't have a ton of service. The restaurant has a lot of nice quotes and decorations from Charlie and friends. I ordered the spicy pork box with an egg drop soup which came out to around $17 after tax before tip. It was a good variety of food, and I especially enjoyed the banchan and spicy pork. The egg drop soup is more of a miso soup with egg added, which I had no issues with but it isn't what I was expecting and very different from a traditional egg drop soup. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and thought the portion size and flavor were a good value for what I paid. I look forward to coming back if I'm ever in Louisville again!

The food is good. It's a very casual order-at-the-counter, food comes on a tray style diner.

The results were mixed. We did the grill table and had appetizers. The apps were AMAZING! The pot stickers, the salad, the spicy edamame, all yum. The meat for the grill was basted in a wonderful marinade and you had a choice of having the kitchen grill it or doing so at your table. We chose to do it ourselves. The waitress brought us scissors with the meat...! The cuts were really too thick and/or wide and I was wondering why the kitchen would send them out so we would still have to cut raw meat with scissors at the table? Also, the only veggies that came with the meal were chunks of green peppers and a few rings of onions. We had asked about more but those were it. The dessert was shaved something in coconut milk. Not very memorable. They did hold the dairy for our lactose free person so maybe that would have made a difference? Because the apps were so good I'll go back and try their other items, but probably not the grill table.

Milkwood was our anniversary go-to; tonight Nami picked up that role. Our server Jay was incredibly friendly and helpful. He explained everything on the menu, giving us recommendations and guidance, and then left us for a bit to think it through. By the time he came back to check in, we were ready to order our whole meal. We started with a complimentary champagne toast for our anniversary...always a lovely touch. Then we had our two cocktails, the wasabi margarita and the lychee martini. Both were so delicious we couldn't choose, and ended up sharing them both entirely. Next came crispy chicken dumplings (that we ate before I could even get a photo) and the amazing ponyu, a thick scallion and vegetable pancake (got a photo of the last slice. We couldn't stop eating it!). For our mains (most of which came home with us, tbh), we ordered the crispy skin snapper with delicious fried rice and the Kalbi beef short ribs from the bbq menu. The bbq comes with 2 sauces and 3 housemade banshan side dishes. Everything was flavorful and perfectly cooked. There's nothing on the menu that I don't want to try. We love sharing so that we can taste it all! This will definitely be our anniversary spot...but I don't think I'll wait a year to return.

Both were very fresh and delicious. My entree was the Kiwami Shiro (pork broth, scallion, mushroom, bamboo, egg, pulled pork, sliced pork, noodles). The broth was incredible and pulled the whole thing together. I definitely want to come here again and try more items off the menu.

Kiwami comes pretty close to meeting my criteria. Quality: yes. 100%. Excellent ingredients, tasteful decor, sturdy serving bowls, whimsical ladles for slurping broth. Weird that the chopsticks are disposable while other utensils are not. Variety: erm. Yes for people who are not plant-based. I would love to see additional vegan options in all entree categories (tofu poke bowl, please). The veggie ramen was fabulous as was the edamame. Just more. Taste: A+. The broth was complex and glorious, the kale noodles lovely, the toppings (brussels spouts, broccoli, tofu, avocado) all prepared and seasoned perfectly. Temperature: yes. Nice and hot. Perfect. Texture: noodles were cooked perfectly with just the right amount of chew, however toppings were all pretty homogenous in texture. The raw greens on top were a little strange. It would have been nice to have a crispy or crunchy element. Value: I mean, Kiwami is a ramen place on Bardstown Road. I didn't expect a deal. I paid $20 for a bowl of ramen plus tip. Not ridiculous, but also not a price that allows me to visit as often as I would like. Overall, Kiwami has earned my respect and likely repeat business, especially if they add more vegan options and offer a repeat customer discount.

We were leaving for the second leg of our trip and were running late, as usual. We decided to run across the street for a sit down lunch, what's another hour? Two smiling faces greeted us at the door. They offered a high top but my hip was absolutely not digging it nor a table up the flight of steep stairs. Once seated, we were greeted promptly and had water in front of us almost immediately. We each ordered soup and then a sandwich to share. I had the Sopa de Pollo . A hot bowl thick with thin noodles and lots of chunks of chicken. The chunks were too big to eat without being cut up which was a challenge in a bowl of broth. It was so hot that I had to wait a while to try it and even then had to blow on it. It was delicious. Unless the soup is your meal, order a cup. I still took nearly a pint of soup back with me. My husband ordered the Frijole Negro - a huge bowl of black beans that was served with a large pile of raw onions on top. Like the chicken soup, it was burn your mouth hot and a very large serving. He said it was good but he'd not order it again. Moving on to the sandwich. We had the Cubano. I'm not even going to describe it - just trust me - order the Cubano. Do not look at the rest of the menu - order the Cubano. Don't even bother looking at the ingredients, just order the Cubano. Have you ordered it yet? Do it already. The Cubano is huge. We split one half and had the other when we arrived at our next stop. Do consider that we had soup first; otherwise, we'd have eaten the whole thing. The accompanying plantain chips were worthy of their own review. They were wonderful. Who knows if and when we'll be back to Louisville but when we are, La Bodeguita will be the first place we stop. BTW, have you ordered the Cubano yet? What are you waiting for? Put your phone done and order it! Enjoy!!
