The food here is unreal!! The atmosphere isn't anything special, but you don't need it when the food is this good. I haven't tried any sushi rolls yet, but they have a large variety. The $10 bulgogi bowls are great--a ton of meat and fills you up! I recently tried the bibimbap bowl; it's fantastic. My favorite thing on the menu is the boxes. You get a ton of different foods in a bento box for less than $20. It also comes with soup or salad. Their ginger salad is decent. Service is always great. You order at the counter and they bring the food to you. They're there if you need them, but they're not lingering. It seems like a lot of their business is carryout. read more

A nice place to eat some great Korean food. Try the mandu!! They are awesome. The bulgogi is solid, and their spicyness level is perfect. I will say that the owner is a very nice man, and his family is professional and service-oriented. I think that they could cut down on costs by not packaging everything (including dine-in orders) in take-out packaging. There's a lot of plastic and styrofoam that goes into the trash barely having been used. I'm looking forward to going back for the japchae. read more

Great concept to capture the downtown lunch crowd! It is an order at counter then pick up when a bell rings kind of concept. At around noon on Thursday, I got my lunch quickly. There is a large room next to the order room with plenty of seating for singles, couples as well as groups. My lunch box came with a choice of soup or salad also. The spicy pork belly was not all that spicy. I loved all the little bits of panchan, too. The bonus? They use that good, chewy Korean rice! Service was friendly and efficient. As someone who works downtown, I always love to try new restaurants nearby my work. I walked in today around 1 pm for a late lunch. Hours listed are from 11 am - 2 pm. When I entered the lobby was empty and there were two employees behind the counter. It took me a few minutes to decide what to order. The menu currently consists of fried rice, bento boxes and sushi. The boxes come with house salad or soup, rice, two dumplings and Korean banchan. Boxes range from $13-18 each. I ordered the japchae box for $14, and selected a house salad. My order only took a few minutes to prepare and I was out the door. The house salad was a traditional salad you would get from a sushi or hibachi restaurant. Plain iceberg lettuce with a few carrots and yummy dressing. The bento box was delightful - each item had a compartment. The banchan includes kimchi, fish cakes, egg roll, and bean sprouts. All were good, but kimchi could have been spicier and more fermented. The japchae was traditional and perfect. I only wish soy sauce was included. Instead they included yum yum sauce, which I didn't use since I didn't order any meat. Finally, the fried dumplings were very good and you could taste the meat - very crispy even though I took my order to go. All in all, a yummy and fast Korean meal that was filling. Food is on the more expensive side, so won't be ordering frequently. If the portions were larger I could justify the price. Definitely would recommend a box if you're in the downtown area. read more

We were looking for a spot to eat while I was in Louisville for a conference and my sister decided on Jin Doshirak, which was very close to the conference center. The restaurant is more of an order then sit down place, where you pick up your food when they have it ready but otherwise don't have a ton of service. The restaurant has a lot of nice quotes and decorations from Charlie and friends. I ordered the spicy pork box with an egg drop soup which came out to around $17 after tax before tip. It was a good variety of food, and I especially enjoyed the banchan and spicy pork. The egg drop soup is more of a miso soup with egg added, which I had no issues with but it isn't what I was expecting and very different from a traditional egg drop soup. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and thought the portion size and flavor were a good value for what I paid. I look forward to coming back if I'm ever in Louisville again! read more

I am leaving this review to share what the food tasted like. -The chef worked at the "Charim" Korean restaurant in Louisville. So all the food dishes are really delicious, which comes from her experience. The two foods I would most recommend are Beef Bulgogi Box and Spicy Pork Box. In particular, Spicy Pork has a unique sweet and spicy taste. Japchae is a noodle product, so I recommend eating it as soon as possible. -Japanese Food (Sushi Menu): A male chef was previously the main chef at a Japanese restaurant in Osaka Downtown. From his experience, sushi rolls are fresh and delicious. -I also gave chicken wings to my kids using a to-go box, and they said they tasted like they used to in Korea. We're in town for a convention and wanted some Korean food for lunch. We were so impressed!! The bulgogi lunch boxes are amazing. Big points for presentation; it all looked so nice. Decent place to get a quick meal in. Although the place seems to cater for take outs (all their food is in to go boxes), they have lots of seating and even plugs. Place is mostly self service, and food seems pretty affordable. I got the ramen and added fried chicken. I was expecting chicken cutlets since they had bento boxes but was disappointed to be served frozen chicken nugget type chicken. The ramen tasted just like shin ramen, but not as spicy. This hidden gem has quickly become my go-to spot for lunch (or dinner). Every bento box I've tried has been fantastic! It's clear they put a lot of care into selecting the side dishes, because each one is delicious and complements the main course perfectly. I've devoured everything from the bulgogi to the japchae, and can't wait to work my way through the entire menu. Finding parking can be a bit of a challenge since it's street parking only. It's disappointing that you don't keep the restaurant open for business during the listed hours. I called the restaurant twice on my drive in and no one answered the phone. I arrived at 1:50 PM before your closing time of 2 PM that is clearly posted on the door. Imagine my surprise when the door was locked. I managed to get the employee's attention, he came to the door, and told me that he was not taking any more orders. I made a concerted effort to give my hard earned money to the restaurant. The restaurant business is tough enough, but it's even tougher when you don't keep regular hours and turn paying customers away. We called in our order for pick up to take back to our hotel. The dinner order was ready in 10 minutes and packaged well with utensils and sauces. We had the spicy pork dinner, the beef bulgogi and bib bin bop. All were fresh and came with traditional side dishes including Kim chee, dumplings and steamed egg. Very delicious. read more
