I randomly stumble upon this Chinese restaurants after a long hike around Sausalito. This hidden gem is located in the little downtown area of Point Richmond. My first impression of Jin Ye is the decor inside doesn't really match the cuisine. Don't get me wrong, it's really modern and nice but I thought it was more suitable for a Japanese restaurant. Regardless of the decor mismatch I still thought the food was delicious and the service was outstanding. We ordered the honey walnut prawns, sesame chicken and beef chow fun. Out of the three I personally like the beef chow fun the most. The noodles were perfectly cooked and everything was seasoned very well. I would definitely order that dish again. The honey walnut prawns and sesame chicken were very tasty as well. The only thing I will gripe about those two items is the thickness of the batter especially for the prawns. The ratio of the batter and meat can be portioned a little better. Other than that I had a nice meal here in this quiet little downtown area. There were people coming in and out on this Saturday evening but not a lot of dine ins. Most people came in for takeout so there was no wait for a table for two.

I am so bummed out. I was hoping for some good Chinese food and this was not it. I had a few bites and the taste is just not good. By far the worst garlic eggplant I've ever had. Also the egg roll was super soggy. It wasn't tasty. Then just having it be delivered I was surprised how soggy this thing was. The whole lunch as BUST!

My colleagues and I love going here. In this economy it is difficult to find quality food with the price they offer. Lunch on weekdays come with soup and spring roll on cabbage shreds. Thanks for the lovely and fast service. Hot tea and hot water is also available. The restaurant is really cozy and clean.

    Hygienic (not!) mayo

Take a look at the pics I attached here of mayonnaise being out in the hot kitchen for hours. I sat here ordering my lunch, watching the chefs dump mayo into everything. At one point I saw a diff person, not pictured, scoop it out with their hands after touching raw meat. Immediately thereafter, my lunch "salad" and "soup" and tiny "fried roll" arrived. The salad was a dole lettuce mix, that seemed to be old, limp and lifeless. The dressing was straight up...Peanut Butter and Mayo!!!!! You could see the mayo. Wtf. I pushed it away. The soup had a salty frozen smell. Like it was microwaved from a mix. It's like the instant Ramen soups you see at discount grocers. It tasted bitter and artifical. ALSO the dishware smelled like their dishwasher needs to be cleaned. Lastly, the roll was clearly a frozen roll they tried to fry. When I cut it in half, I noticed it was not cooked in the middle and ice cold. This place is dirty, lacks hygiene and cooking standards. If you eat here, after reading this and the other legit reviews (that aren't coaxed by the owner), you deserve the trip to the doctor for stomach pains. I left when I saw what my appetizers were like. Declined the main. And walked out.

Hidden gem in El Sobrante that serves up some of the best Laotian and Thai food in the Bay Area…read more Every time we visit, must-orders are the Nam Khao (crispy rice ball salad with fermented pork sausage and fresh herbs) and Ka Soy (Laotian noodle soup). If you see Nam Khao on the menu of a Laotian/Thai restaurant, that means they know what they are doing just because it's so labor-intensive to make a salad(!) and the fermented pork has to be damn-near perfect for this salad to really shine and round out the fresh herbs and seasonings which includes lime juice, vinegar, and fish sauce. Ka Soy (the noodle soup) is a comfort food enjoyed in Southeast Asia. It's not the Thai-style where it's a curry broth and the noodles are fried, so let's not get it mixed up. Instead, it's bone broth that been simmered for hours and it's somewhat a lighter broth. The noodles are wide rice noodles in a big bowl of hot broth served with a mixture of ground pork cooked down with tomatoes along with fresh bean sprouts, scallions, and cilantro - simply a divine noodle soup that a must-try. It's not overly complex in terms of flavor, but it's a bowl of good ol' noodle soup that is comforting and great-tasting. If you haven't tried Laotian food, give Sue's Kitchen a try. try some new flavors and you may just become a regular (if you aren't already). The owners are friendly too! It's a husband-and-wife team!

I was there at 7pm on a Tuesday night. The entire shopping plaza was dark and unwelcoming. If it wasn't for the bright lights of the restaurant, I would of turned around and left. I came to China Delights to try their Hung Tao Wor Yee Won Ton Soup. It's a soup you seldom see in Chinese restaurants anymore. China Delights is a large spacious restaurant. Lots of round tables for groups. It could probably handle a Chinese banquet. So I ordered the won ton soup and an order of fried chicken wings. My big bowl of soup arrives, and it has chunks of imitation crab in it. Look, I understand everyone has their own recipe, but I don't want pieces of processed seafood in my won ton soup. Also, this isn't wor won ton soup, because there's nothing else added to it. It was just fried won tons, egg drop soup, and the "fake crab" meat. It doesn't alter the flavor of the soup. It was actually good soup, but I didn't like the fake crab meat. Grade (3/5). The fried chicken wings were super crispy and delicious! (5/5). Service was okay. The older lady who served me came over and chatted about the restaurant. Seems they also own Peking Delights in San Ramon. She told me her customers like won ton soup with imitation crab meat in it. So be aware, you might get something in your soup that's not on the menu. Lots of free parking.

When we walked in, no staff was out front, so we stood around a bit before we were seated. The staff quickly disappeared again, and throughout our meal, they were usually disappeared somewhere in the back. If you want something quick like extra utensils or napkins, you may need to wait a bit before someone appears. When ordering, we wanted to try both the Beef Buzz ($14.99) and the Fried Beef Buzz ($15.99). The lady who took our order said they were the same thing, and offered to just give us one half/half order instead of ordering two of essentially the same dish. We agreed to that offer, but she didn't mention anything about how that'll be charged. Of course, we ended up being charged the higher price of $15.99. Not a huge deal, but some better communication there would've been appreciated. We also ordered the Beef Huushuur ($14.99). The Beef Huuchuur arrived first, and it didn't look anything like we expected. The photos from online reviews all looked it'd come in an empanada shape, but it actually came in a large, flat, circular shape. They were all laying against one another in a slanted position, and it made all the oil pool in the bottom of the dish, and the pieces that were covered became very oily and soggy underneath. The parts of the dough that weren't soggy were wonderfully crispy and delicious though. It'd make a significantly better difference if the Huuchuur were placed spread out from each other instead of lying on top of each other to maintain the crispiness on all surfaces. The beef filling was nicely seasoned and well flavored. The Beef Buzz had essentially the same filling as the Huuchuur, but different exterior. Unfortunately, I still have the same opinions of it being way too oily overall. The non-fried pieces sometimes broke apart at the bottom due to the sogginess. The fried version did not have a crispy texture at the bottom either, I'm guessing due to the excess amount of oil on the dish. Again, the flavors were great, but execution and presentation definitely has room for improvement. In summary, this was a great introduction to Mongolian dumplings for me. Very delicious flavors, and I'd love to try Huuchuurs again in the future because I love crispy fried foods with a good texture. However, I'd probably look for a place that goes way more easy on the oil.

I think the "3-star" Yelp average is correct for this place…read more On a Saturday evening, I drove up to Pinole just to try the Hung Tao Yee Won Ton Soup at China House. It was near 5pm, and the dining room was empty. They said most of the orders were for takeout and delivery. So I was seated right away, and they offered me hot tea. So I ordered the Hung Tao Yee Won Ton Soup, and also "Salt 'n Pepper Prawns" as listed under House Specialties on their menu. For $15.95, it's a huge bowl of soup. It could be enough for 2-3 people. Hung Tao Yee Won Ton Soup is fried won ton in thicken egg drop soup. I added pepper and a splash of soy sauce, and it was perfect. Grade (4/5). However, the Salt 'n Pepper Prawns were not perfect. They were served deep fried, with jalapeño pepper slices. I asked for "in-shell." So they were deep fried with the shell still on. That usually means they'll have more flavor. These prawns were mushy and had a slightly fishy aftertaste. This suggests that they were frozen and not fresh. China House didn't season them enough to mask the off-taste. Other restaurants add a coarse salt and maybe a dipping sauce. The batter coating tasted fine, but the prawn itself wasn't good. Grade (2/5). Service was prompt and attentive. Restroom- 1 Women's restroom, and 1 All Gender. China House has a big screen TV, and they were showing a basketball game ( NY vs Houston). Free off-street parking lot
