Unfortunately, our most recent order left us puzzled (and not in the "hmm, what's this new flavor?" kind of way). We found a cigarette butt in one of our soups. Yes, you read that right -- dinner came with a surprise side of nicotine. To their credit, Jen Meals' customer service manager Tiffany was responsive and apologetic (screenshots attached for transparency). But the bigger concern is that they couldn't guarantee this wouldn't happen again. Their own words suggested they're still trying to figure out how a cigarette got into their kitchen when none of their staff supposedly smokes. Not exactly the type of mystery you want served with your congee and herbal tea. . Look, mistakes happen, but as a consumer, it's hard to enjoy food when there's a possibility of finding... well, anything besides food. The meals are tasty, but I'd encourage anyone considering Jen Meals to think twice and maybe ask a few extra questions about their food handling practices. After all, you shouldn't need to worry about secondhand smoke in your soup.

It absolutely beats spending more money on lunch when I'm in the office. I was also really surprised at the portion sizes too. I'm a big guy so in my head I'm thinking the portion size wouldnt be enough, but I was surprised to find I felt satisfied and full the rest of the work day. Pickup is pretty straight forward! ZERO RESPONSE. 15 minutes later I'm driving up and down this strip (none of the suites are labeled with OSM) until I randomly see another car pull up to a random end suite where I have to figure out that's where it is. This is my second pick up both of which were huge issues but the first one was my fault so I thought it would somehow be better. AFTER I get a text on a different thread saying "Sorry for the inconvenience. Customers pull up to suite N on Sundays and we bring the food out or they text the business line" which is NOT on any texts from the "business line" and they never replied once on that line. They require ahead of time order (my plate was 1hr wait) and give you this paper with a QR code that directs you to the website where you can choose from tons of different customizable options. I decided on the tri tip steak and eggs and was extremely satisfied with my choice. Upon picking up my order, super cool dude at the front guaranteed my satisfaction and told me it was his favorite plate. When I got to my car, the smell of the food in the bag was incredible. Nice weight to the bag of food as well, always a good sign lol. As soon as I opened the box, the presentation was perfect. 4 buttered wheat toast, 4 eggs made how you like, I ordered over easy, and a ton of sweet potato's with the tri tip laying on top of the potato's. EVERYTHING was seasoned perfectly and the steak was deliciously tender. Literally melted in your mouth. I couldn't be more happier with my order. I do eat more than the normal person but this plate was a perfect amount of food for the price and the quality. On a side note, if youre on the eco friendly side, this place gives you your order in those thick compostable containers and biodegradable bag to carry the food which I think is awesome of them 10/10 experience and taste.
