Kinda looks like gas station sushi in the plastic trays? This is how I was served while dining in at the sushi bar. Disappointing for sure.

The ordering process is a little cumbersome and when the sushi arrived it was just so so. I really don't appreciate the small plastic containers the food is delivered in - even when you're eating at the sushi bar itself. Staff was rather glum and unappreciative but the prices were fair, and the food quality was unfortunately mediocre. I will not return.

This place is amazing, the service is phenomenal the specialty rolls are seriously the best and I'm from nyc. So this place definitely is great. I had been searching for months and stumbled upon this place. The service is great and the restaurant decor is so pretty. I highly recommend this place, it's a must.

The food was plated gorgeously and the taste was great, but what I had a problem with is that the Shrimp wasn't Cleaned Properly! There were still shells on the shrimp INSIDE the sushi roll. My family has been in the restaurant business for over 45 years and in Any cuisine, you Should clean the shrimp and if you consume the shells, it could get stuck in my throat or cut the insides of my intestines. This is a choking hazard and also the shells should be Discarded for cleaning the bacteria out before anyone eats the food. It is Food for Thought. Otherwise, our Date night went great.

Food is delicious and recently the service is great. Went for Valentines dinner and it was outstanding with the 2 young men who served. They were personable and always with a smile.

Create your roll: white tuna, spicy crab, green onion, & white tuna, top with spicy mayo, eel sauce, & tobiko! Wow! & spicy white tuna roll!

Finally a close/local sushi spot...my go-to spot is about a 40-45 minute round trip, so this is perfect being a 15-20 minute trip...oh and the sushi is Great! We have ordered twice now from them and everything has been fresh, well-preserved, and delicious. I LOVE the create your own roll option and did that tonight: spicy crab, smoked salmon, white tuna, and green onion, topped with tobiko, eel sauce, and spicy mayo! Great portions and fresh sashimi. Had some Ikura(salmon roe), octopus, smoked salmon, and white tuna. Wife loves the tempura shrimp roll with avocado. They also have the great ordering online option of adding soy paper, which is excellent since she hates seaweed. My kids love the edamame and it's a nice sized portion for us and them to share. When you order a certain amount they throw in a bubble tea and also coupons for next visit. I wish we could go in, sit down, and enjoy ourselves there, but for now I'll just enjoy their great service and fresh sushi. Loving my new, close, excellent sushi spot! Keep up the good work.

I really miss the quality of sushi you get used to in places like NYC, Jersey City, and Philadelphia. I've tried many sushi places near my home and even traveled 30 minutes away to find more average quality sushi. Don't get me wrong I do like to go to the AYCE sushi joints and definitely have some favorites but again, what you get is average quality food with a surprise here and there. I noticed a glowing review for a new restaurant named Jing's sushi house and decided to give them a shot on New Year's Eve. I decided to play it relatively safe and order some basic maki rolls, and a sushi and sashimi lunch special. I used their online ordering option on their website and it was very simple to enter my order and schedule a pickup time. Note that Jing's is only offering takeout due to Covid. I received a call an hour before my pickup time to confirm my order and scheduled time. When I arrived, I was greeted by friendly folks whom I am certain were smiling under their masks. They handed me my order and offered me a free bubble tea...any flavor. I chose mango. It was delicious. When I arrived home I opened up the giant cake box my order was handed to me in. At first look I knew we were in for a treat. The fish color was just perfect. The rice on the rolls was not overloaded like many of the local places do. The sashimi was bright and cut so thick each piece looked like it could have been cut into 3 or 4. I placed the order on a platter and my family and I indulged. It was absolutely delicious. Every piece loaded with flavor and melted in my mouth. Alas I have found a somewhat local place that has that big city sushi quality I missed so much. And on top of all that the prices are insanely reasonable. I mean where else do you get any 2 high quality maki rolls for a $7.25 lunch special? They also offer brown rice for an additional $1 (another option I haven't seen locally) I'll be back soon to try some of their other offerings and special rolls.

Nine of the 13 emails I received from their system rejecting my order.

I want to start by saying that the food is good, and I have been patronizing this restaurant for a very long time at this point. Until now, I have never had a negative experience. Today, however, I tried ordering ahead through their website like usual and it kept rejecting my order. I tried 13 times before I gave up and called to report the problem. The woman who answered was apologetic and tried to help, but the man who took the phone from her kept defending the online ordering system even as I tried to explain that it was not working, kept interrupting me, and when I tried to explain that I wanted to order ahead instead of receiving my food now, he hung up on me. As I said, I have been a loyal customer for a long time now, ordering at least once a week. If this is how they react when loyal customers let them know their system has a problem, I don't know that I want to stay loyal to them.

    Look at the beautiful fish!

My new favorite sushi spot! I've gotten takeout here three times so far, and each time they've never failed to go beyond my expectations. I ordered spicy scallop and spicy white tuna maki rolls for my first time, and the fish to rice ratio was amazing. The rolls were so big, the ginger and wasabi had to be served in separate containers, but nothing to complain about! For my second trip, I ordered some veggie maki rolls: sweet potato tempura, cucumber avocado, and mango and avocado. They were all delicious too. My most recent trip I ordered the sushi lunch special, as I wanted something different. I was given four beautiful pieces of nigiri and sashimi along with a salmon, avocado & cucumber roll. So glad there's a new sushi spot here! Looking forward to trying more of their menu.

Everyone will have their own experiences so I urge you to have your own here... today.... now!!! This place is going to be huge in the area. From the moment we opened our order, it was clear that care, quality, and pride go into everything they serve. We ordered the tuna maki rolls, yellowtail scallion maki rolls, a tuna sushi dinner, and gyoza, and every single item exceeded expectations. The first thing that truly impressed us was the fish-to-rice ratio. This is something many sushi restaurants get wrong, but Pier Sushi and Hibachi absolutely nailed it. The maki rolls were balanced and generous, allowing the quality of the fish to shine rather than being overwhelmed by rice. As seen in the photos, the fish itself was beautiful--glistening, vibrant, and cut into thick, satisfying pieces that instantly signaled freshness. The nigiri from the tuna sushi dinner was pure perfection. Instead of the oversized, dense balls of rice that are so common elsewhere, the rice here was delicately portioned and lightly packed, letting the fish remain the star. Each piece was topped with a generous slice of tuna, making every bite melt-in-your-mouth delicious and well balanced. Even the details that are often overlooked were thoughtfully executed. The wasabi was clearly high quality--fresh, flavorful, and the perfect complement to the fish without overpowering it. This is one of those small touches that truly elevates the entire sushi experience and shows a commitment to doing things right. The gyoza deserves special mention as well. Despite being a pickup order and not eaten immediately, they were still crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and packed with flavor. That alone speaks volumes about the quality of their preparation and ingredients. Another pleasant surprise was the garden salad included with the meal. The container was packed generously, not skimpy or half-filled, which made it clear that this restaurant prioritizes customer satisfaction over saving a penny or two. That level of care does not go unnoticed and makes a lasting impression. Overall, Pier Sushi and Hibachi delivers on quality, portion size, freshness, and attention to detail--everything you hope for in a great sushi spot. After a long day of work, this is exactly the kind of meal that feels both comforting and indulgent. I would highly recommend this place to any sushi lover and can confidently say we'll be returning again and again.

We immediately ordered a few appetizers to start and the beef Negamaki was delicious but very very hot temperature wise. When you walk in you can choose sushi or hibachi or you can also just sit at a table. It's very tidy and the service is very prompt and good. They have half price sushi rolls and they are really great value for the price and the size I've never had a bad meal. Here The green tea is OK but taste almost like rice. It's kind of weird but I took my husband and we enjoyed the shrimp Shumai and we also enjoyed the udon noodles with chicken And a few other entrées. He got the mango roll and it was very surprisingly delicious. I got two other rolls and they kind of had a citrus flavor, which was unexpected but pleasant. I forget the other roll, but it was similar to shrimp tempura it was very delicious. I also ordered a spicy tuna roll. It was very delicious. We can't wait to come back.

Parking was easy to find, the lot is shared with the rest of the small strip mall anchored by a CVS. The young lady who took my order over the phone also greeted me when I entered. She was so nice, helpful and detailed when explaining the menu. The inside of the restaurant appeared clean and welcoming for dining in. They offer chilled and room temperature Chinese flavored waters, Japanese marble sodas, Thai tea, soda and sparkling water. My wife and kids wanted Chicken Teriyaki $10.75 - the lunch portion came with veggies and rice. The portion was small, but they all enjoyed the flavors and said the chicken was fresh. I had ordered the Shoyu Ramen (Chashu pork) Corn, nori, boiled egg, kikurage and scallion at $14.75. The noodles were a big glob and had to be broken up. The broth was spicy, delicious and made up for the noodles. The pork was two thinly sliced medallions that were juicy and flavorful. I made three bowls of soup with the portion, so it was plenty for a second/third meal. I also ordered the Yummy Yummy Roll off the special roll menu $14.75 - Shrimp tempura, cream cheese, avocado, salmon, eel sauce, spicy mayo & tobiko. It didn't hold together well and was ok/good. I would try another roll if I return. Their menu is pretty extensive with Japanese offerings of soups, salad, yakitori, sushi/sashimi, gyoza, hibachi meals, bento box meals, udon, ramen, etc. If I have a return trip I would eat in if having ramen, but the take out experience was good. I'll say it again the young lady working there was patient and an absolute pleasure to deal with! Thanks guys!

The inside is nicely laid out and easy on the eyes. Booths, tables in the middle, sushi bar towards the back and private tatami rooms along the one outer wall. I had called ahead and reserved one of their tatami rooms. It was our first time in a room like that and we really enjoyed it! (NOTE: you have to remove your shoes before entering the tatami room so make sure you wear socks if that bothers you!) The service was friendly and timely. Our waitress took the time to go over their menu which had several pages of sushi options alone. They don't have a kids menu, but they were both able to find something they liked. My oldest had the Chicken Teriyaki that came on a skillet with a bed of steamed veggies and white rice on the side. He devoured it and asked for more rice. He allowed me to have a couple of bites of his chicken. The Teriyaki flavors were popping! Little guy shared a steak and shrimp hibachi with my wife. She asked for medium and it came out well. The flavors of the steak and shrimp were awesome, but the corn rice and veggies had a little bit of an off flavor and texture. Both meals came with soup - one miso which tasted just fine, the other a clear soup that had a delicious full onion flavored broth. I had the Volcano roll - $17 - eight - Shrimp tempura, cucumber w special sweet tuna salad outside and the Phoenix Roll - $18 - eight -mixed combo fish & avocado roll, top with salmon yellowtail & special sauce on top. The Volcano roll wasn't super tight, but I enjoyed the crunchy shrimp tempura and sweet sauce. Good fresh ingredients and flavors in both, Phoenix roll had a welcoming kick in the special sauce. Our friend had a Philly Roll, Shrimp Tempura Roll and a veggie roll ($7-$8 avg.) which she said were all good. We had a great time in the room and will certainly repeat. I'm not a well traveled sushi eater, but the menu at Tako was much more extensive (more fish varieties and combinations) than my usual Asian fusion spots) at a similar price so I'll be returning to try more options. The one thing I would recommend to their owners is a bathroom spruce up or thorough cleaning. The walls looked like an inexperienced painter took care of them and there were dirt marks all over the door. Having said that, it's great to have a fun dining option close to home! Thanks guys!!!

I didn't have the pleasure of visiting Dog & Bull before it was renovated, but I visited last night and can't wait to return. My friend and I made a reservation for 5:30 PM (just in case) as we read online that reservations were recommended, but I don't actually think one was needed. When you walk in, it's bright and inviting. The garage doors throughout the property provide a ton of natural light. I can only imagine how lovely it is when they're open in the summer. Additionally, the outside has a nice patio and an area with a fire pit. The restaurant's layout was designed wonderfully! Our server was Alex (Alexandria) and she was the epitome of exceptional service. She checked in on us multiple times and always had a smile on her face when she came over. We really appreciated having her. The baked feta and hummus appetizer was just as delicious as it looks in the photo. The thick pieces of garlic, roasted red peppers, olives, cucumbers and pita bread triangles paired so nicely with the feta. The hummus was warmed up and it looked like the kitchen staff may have torched the top of it. It was phenomenal. Boy do I have notes on the lentil burger - it was 10/10!! I'm not a big bean person and even though this burger had beans in it, it somehow tasted like an actual beef burger. Sounds crazy, I know, but trust and believe it was pure excellence. I added cheddar for an additional charge and upgraded my regular fries to garlic parm fries. Finally, the caramel apple bread pudding... oh my oh my! What a DELIGHT. The top was piled high with a big scoop of frosting. Yes, you read that right. Frosting! Not ice cream! You can taste the apple pieces in the bread pudding. My friend and I wanted to order it twice. It was THAT good. It was easy to make my way to Dog & Bull from Center City thanks to the Septa station located directly behind the restaurant. Street parking also wasn't too bad yesterday. I absolutely loved the experience I had here and will be stopping by again this summer! Thanks, Dog & Bull!
