I had a very limited budget of $1,000, and I was hosting a housewarming party the next day. I knew I was in the wrong store pretty much as soon as I walked in. However, Andy Singer was very patient and walked me through my options and I walked out with a CD player, an amp, and speakers from three different manufacturers that I had never heard of before. And he managed to make it work inside my budget of $1,000. A couple of months later, I was developing audiophile tendencies. The equipment I bought was that good, even within that budget, but the CD player just wasn't doing it for me. So I boxed it back up and returned to Sound by Singer. Amazingly, Andy didn't just take the CD player back. He sold me this beautiful alternative CD player made by an obscure English firm, for which all he asked me for was $200 and the return of the original CD player. The resultant combo kept me more than happy for 20 subsequent years. The amp eventually died, and the obscure firm in Jersey that made it had gone out of business, and it was not cost-effective to replace it. I ended up replacing everything. Although it's not an option for an audiophile, so I don't really qualify, I covered my home with Sonos speakers. I still have that CD player. I never play music on it anymore, but it was built with such love and care I have not been able to bring myself to part from it. Thank you, Andy. If you were the person many of the people posting negative reviews here say about you, you would have laughed me out of your store with my budget of $1,000. But instead, you made that $1,000 go so much further than I could possibly imagine. RIP Andy, and thank you for 20 plus years of beautiful music and helping turn my first New York apartment into my home.

I brought it in and after a few days they said there was nothing wrong with it. I got it home and the drawer stuck. Was told that the product just arrived at the warehouse and would be shipped out that day. Strike 2 -- dont show an item as in stock if you didn't already have it in stock. Two days later, still no email or tracking info, so I have to call again. Strike 3. This time was told by a different guy that my order was refunded because it was out of stock. But I check online and the product is showing as in stock still with a price 2x what I paid (now in line with the rest of the online sphere's pricing) -- idk how many strikes to count for these events but it would be several. Why am I being lied to? Why have I had to reach out every time instead of proactive communication from the retailer? Why was my purchase price not honored like any good retailer would? On top of that, the guy I spoke to the second time offered to have the guy from call #1 contact me as he was the one running point on all this of this and of course I never received a call. Bunch of lying cowards at the fulfillment department of this company. Everything you dont want in a customer experience. Would never spend a dime supporting a business like this.

I've been in the audio hobby for over 27 years, so I've learned the difference between a team that actually knows their stuff and one that's just moving boxes. I am the proud new owner of Certified Authentic Pre-Owned Wilson Sabrinas in Obsidian Black. Honestly, taking the leap on Wilsons wasn't really on my radar until a credible, certified pair popped up at a reputable regional dealer. That sense of local security and support is the only reason I felt comfortable taking my system to the next level. Right from the first message, the team was straight-up with me. They walked me through exactly what Wilson's Certified Authentic program entails, the Certification work done on the speakers, the warranty, and the realistic logistics. No hard sell, no runaround, and no question left unanswered. That's the kind of foresight you get from decades of real experience. What really set this apart was the installation. Their Certified installer Mike came out to do the Wilson Audio Setup Procedure (WASP). The guy is a total pro - super patient, incredibly knowledgeable, and just a great person to work with. He added a ton of value to the whole experience. My space is far from a showroom. It's a tight studio apartment, with a corner-loaded left channel, a workstation that isn't moving anywhere; essentially a "lab in motion" for my audio hobby. Mike didn't blink. He worked around the real-world constraints and went through the WASP methodically. Everything was done ear-first and with serious precision. Watching him dial it in showed me exactly why Wilson insists on this setup process; it's not just marketing fluff, it's real substance. The Sabrinas sound phenomenal, and they absolutely live up to their reputation. The speakers and set-up rival my former reference Levinson and Magnepan system. Once you graduate into equipment that has serious value, it's 100% about trust. You have to trust the product, the transaction, and the follow-through. Stereo Exchange nailed all three. If you're serious about bringing your experience to the next level, Stereo Exchange is the place.

So I took back cover off and noticed the play belt slipped off the cam. This Tascam Porta 2 was serviced few years back by licensed Tascam company. Inside was clean as a whistle. So now I had no time to repair belt. Looked for repair shop and this store came up. Took unit to store and filled out on work order: Play belt slipped off cam. (See pic) Simple repair you think? Well let me tell you this place will pad the bill as high as possible. With frivolous work charges. When I went to pick up unit. I got a bill for $185 for 1 play belt. Ohh they charged me for Replaced Belts, Rebuilt Motor which was a lie etc. There was nothing wrong with anything except the play belt. On top of that they never called me to say this work needs to be done. Or provide any photos to show what they did. That's what I mean by padding the bill. So I show up to pick up unit and bring my own Tascam OEM power supply, that was original to unit. Plug it in and all is ok. Just wanted to pay and leave. There is one thing I learned in life. Never argue with a fool. Because that makes two fools. So low and behold I take unit to my job and less than an hour later the Tascam unit fails. All this work that was supposed done and it breaks done before I even get it home. Yea right! So now I take it back. And it takes another day. Funny thing is the guy working the counter is like. Hey bring that Tascam oem power supply back and he will trade it for a $3 Chinese power supply. I was born at nite. But it wasn't last nite. What a moron bad enough he is ripping me off for unapproved work. Now he wants me to trade a $30 Tascam oem power supply for a $3 one. What an idiot. Check it out if you enter this store. Enter at your own risk. And be specific about any repairs with the caveat if work goes beyond scope of original quote. That you need to approve it. And ask for proof like photos etc. And as of July 4 th after only using tape deck for two hours. Tape deck failed with same error as when taken into this shop for repair. Useless idiots who have no clue what they are doing.
