Jinya is hands down my favorite ramen bar in Atlanta. This was my first time visiting this location and I went during their happy hour to try some of their specials. It wasn't crowded but there's a small lot and parking was crowded, but free. I arrived around 4pm and sat at a shared table. Great news, they participate in In-kind- an app that rewards you for paying with the app. I discovered this while I was checking out. They were able to reverse my card payment and allow me to pay through the app, but what bothered me was the waitress wasn't going to do it if she couldn't get tipped through the app. This was bothersome bc she felt entitled to a tip and it felt like she was trying to coerce me. Mind you, I had already paid and tipped but her tone and entitlement was unsettling. So if you want use another app, do it before hand but not that it'll take some sensitizing bc she had never heard of it before I asked and another waitress had to help her. Overall, the vibe is the same as any other location. I do like their HH menus and ability to try other small plates, but it's only about $1.50 cheaper than their regular menu. But saving is saving! I may check out this place again but my favorite location is the Buckhead one. read more

I used to love Jinya. The food is always yummy and the prices are usually pretty good, but recently this place has really gone downhill. I will absolutely never eat at Jinya again after my last two experiences.The second-to-last time I ordered from them, I got horrible food poisoning. I decided to give them one more chance, but my most recent visit was the final straw. While sitting at my table, I saw a roach crawl right next to my bowl. When I pointed it out to the staff, all they offered to do was remake the meal. In what world is remaking food next to a live bug acceptable? This was my first time eating at JINYA and the food was very good. It was packed for a Wednesday night and we ended up eating outside. Unfortunately the heaters they have for their outdoor patio aren't functioning so be aware of that if it's a cooler night. We started out with the impossible tacos which were delicious! Their ramen dishes were quite tasty. Ask for a side of hot sauce to go with it. It really adds to the flavor of the dish. The pork rice dish was decent but needed more flavor. We also ordered the hot sake, which unfortunately was not a crowd pleaser, but everyone really loved their pineapple sake. I'd recommend getting that! read more

Jinya is always a solid bowl of ramen. One of my favorite parts is that there is a long list of items to customize your bowl. I'm a huge garlic lover and it makes my tastebuds happy that I can get a dish of fresh garlic on the side to add as much as I want to my ramen. Came in as a party of 2 and were told a 40 minute wait that pleasantly ended being only 20 min. We had walked over to Righteous Room for a drink while we waited. We were seated at the bar and ordered a bowl of tonkatsu black and red. I ordered mine at a level 10 but our server put it in as an 8. The 8 was fine because I actually don't like that the additional spice makes the soup thicker. Next time I'll order it as a 5 to avoid the up charge and add the table spicy sauce instead. I will say the meat and egg are good. The meat is tender and juicy and the egg is perfectly gooey. Dont forget to add fresh garlic! But overall, the ramen is just fine. The soup flavor is just okay. For dessert we ordered green tea mochi and it was mostly melted. Those should come straight out of the freezer to allow them to melt slightly when the get to the table. While the ramen itself was tasty, the experience wasn't perfect. When I got home, I realized the extra egg I paid for was missing. By the time I noticed, they were closed, so I called two days later. They apologized, mentioned an egg shortage, and said a refund would be processed after the manager was informed. However, it's been a month and a half, and I still haven't received the refund. It's disappointing. While I'd order from them again or dine in, I'd definitely mention my prior experience and hope to get the extra egg next time. They do not validate parking sadly :( 5 stars for food I came during national ramen day so their 3 signatures were only $12. I wound up getting the Jinya tonkatsu black ramen. Very delicious, the broth was well flavored and thick. It came with a big egg and 2 thick slices of meat. I wish there were more mushrooms or toppings, but I'm just a ramen lover. They also had a happy hour (3-5pm? on weekdays), and I got the crispy chicken since it was about $3 less. It was amazing, juicy, crispy, and full of chicken. But unfortunately this place does not believe the customer is always right. Despite the fact there was a LONG wait for my friend's Ramen and zero apology. If one person orders appetizers and from the happy hour menu and main menu WHY would the ramen from main menu take longer? Why would it be assumed that one person wants to watch another one eat? We went at 2 PM for lunch on a Saturday. The ambience was pretty energetic and lively yet not as crowded as dinner time. Service was prompt and our waiter was helpful in answering my menu questions and providing recommendations. He highly recommended the spicy chicken Ramen and suggested an added vegetable for added crunch. He stated that he typically added cabbage and I opted for broccolini. They didn't bring it in the Ramen, but placed it on the side. There is also an option on the menu to purchase additional noodles in case you're left with more broth, but honestly, the broth was so delicious and flavorful! Plus I added lots of chili sauce from the little containers on the table. I also added additional fried onions and I believe the garlic was complementary. They literally bring you what looks to be about four cloves of minced garlic in a small ramekin. The only thing I noticed was that the containers on the table that housed the condiments were not frequently wiped and seemed to have some of the sauce dripping down the sides as well as the tops being a little sticky.
