I'm a big lover of ramen, let me tell you that Jinya did not disappoint! They have a variety of ramen and I opted for the Tonkotso Spicy Ramen, which was just the right amount of spicy for my taste buds. I also got a side of edamame with a Jinya bun. Get the bun! It's absolutely delicious! They have a variety of drinks and I decided on a coke. What I enjoyed the most about my drink option was that it was canned coke, so it was very carbonated just how I like it. The service was great and the establishment is very clean which is always a big plus in my books. There is plenty of complementary parking. Scrolling through the JINYA Ramen Bar website, I decided on the Spicy Chicken. I placed my order and headed to the restaurant. The location was easy to find as it sits in the plaza. Walking inside the restaurant, the ambiance was calming and dim. The surroundings were moderately toned and made me think this would be the perfect place for my next date night. I headed to the hostess stand, provided my name. Retrieved my order and was on my way. The process was easy and the service was good. Let's talk Ramen... One word... Amazing!!! The chicken was tender. The noodles were perfectly made. The seasonings were blended perfectly and then, I added the broth to the food and what was already good went to great. The broth was well seasoned and perfectly married all the ingredients together. I ordered the highest level of spice and it was not too spicy and delivered a generous amount of heat to the dish. My first visit here and it was amazing. I met up with friends to catch and fellowship. I was introduced and recommended to the Jinya Bun which is a steamed bun with braised pork sandwich like situation. OMG it was delicious, I enjoyed it so much. After years of coming to this place the customer service was horrible. Asked one question and the young man who was seating people had the ugliest attitude. We were a party of nine with 2 children. This is going to sound controversial, but Jinya is, in my option, tasty. Is it authentic? Not really. However, is the food good? Yes! I love their unique flavors and their options. The food tasted a little more like a chain than my normal favorite ramen bars; it was a little more unhealthy tasting but very good and flavorful. Pricing was fine, I liked that I could add gyoza and salad for $6 more instead of having to pay full price for those apps when eating alone but the add ins for the ramen were overpriced like $3 to add in an corn, onions or other cheap vegetables . The ginger salad dressing was great, liked it better than the gyoza surprisingly. It's located in a strip mall, so parking is easy - which is not often the case in buckhead. We went here on a Wednesday night, so the pace was slow - but service was really good. Our server made good recommendations, was attentive to what we needed and checked in on us regularly. Inside I was surprised to see how many people were dining, considering how early it was. There was plenty of seating and the bartender who served us was super nice. I had the Tonkotsu Black ramen with a little heat added. Mom had the chicken ramen. Mine was superb. Very flavorful - lots of yummy stuff in it. The seasoned egg was delicious. My sister agreed with everything about her bowl, but she added some seasoning to her broth that was out in front of us. She felt her broth wasn't as tasteful until she seasoned it herself. Otherwise it was perfect. As far was the crispy chicken breasts and the chicken in our ramen it was some of the juiciest chicken we've tasted! We both were delicious. The crispy chicken appetizer comes in 5 pieces or 10 of memory serves me right . We got the 5 piece and it was more than enough for the two of us and the price was perfect. The price in regards to all the food was adequate compared to other places I've been too for the food that you get. Would highly recommend all the above when it comes to the food. For service we thought they were exceptional. The moment you open the door they greet you and we were sat instantly. We got our food shortly after we submitted our order and they did their usual table check and ensured we had everything we needed as we ate. We sat at the bar and the cooks were just as efficient and polite. We will say that when it's slow you'll have the upper hand when it comes to seating it is a somewhat smaller place, because once it's full you may have to wait a bit but everyone around who we're getting seated as we finished up for their food fairly quick so i doubt you would be waiting long. As far as ambiance goes, friendly, fast paced (but not in a rushing manner) very nice for lunch or dinner out with the friends, family or significant other. I'm proud to announce I'm a fan of JINYA Ramen Bar - Buckhead! So far, I've eaten here twice, as recently as last night. We went in the evening, a little after 6:30pm on a Wednesday. Parking was plentiful. This JINYA location is in a shopping center, with the stores lined up along the edges of the property and the big parking lot in the middle. The reason for a lot of parking available (and all of it is free!) is that in the evenings it's mostly the restaurants that are open in the evening during the weekdays, and there aren't that many restaurants anyway in the shopping center. After letting the host know there were two of us dining together, he led us to a table. During the short walk (it was two tables and a host stand away from the front door), the host said something out loud in Japanese, and all of the other employees who heard him replied, saying the same thing, only louder. This reminded me of when I lived on Okinawa during my Air Force days (GO AIR FORCE!) when just about all of the restaurants' employees in all of the restaurants that I ate at did the same thing - only they were VERY LOUD when they all yelled at the same time. After being seated, we were given menus. The table was already set for us, and there were condiments/sauces in small ceramic sauce holders. We waited a few minutes for our server to come by, because he also was the bartender. The only drawback to choosing this place eat is their menu is much too busy. Just about everything looked good on the menu. I'm not a vegetarian, nor am I into "Impossible" anything, but those are available for people who are vegetarian or who seek out non-meat items. I ordered the Wonton Chicken Ramen. R ordered the JINYA Tonokotsu Black Ramen. We didn't feel like we waited very long before these bowls of yumminess arrived. I loved smelling the nice comforting chicken soup-ish aroma that was placed in front of me. I already knew I was going to love this bowl of ramen, and it certainly did not disappoint me. Instead of grabbing the chopsticks, I picked up the spoon to taste the broth. Mmmmm! Chicken flavored and not salty! I kept this up until I realized that everything else in the bowl was no longer covered by the broth. I was extremely surprised by how delicious the wonton was. I was expecting just plain chicken wrapped inside the wonton skins, but the meat inside was so well seasoned that they tasted like something you'd find in a dim sum restaurant. If you order the wonton in the ramen, you may find that, besides being awesome tasting, they're also slippery when using chopsticks. There were a lot of noodles in our bowls, and I thought I got a generous amount. I loved that they definitely weren't mushy. The spinach and onions added a nice dark green color and different textures. While I was still in the middle of my meal, I decided to add some of the hot sauce available in the ceramic container on the table. It's actually a spicy red paste. The trick to adding this paste to your bowl is scoop up some of the the broth in your soup spoon, use the spoon that's in the hot sauce holder to scoop up the paste, try to shake off the paste from the spoon into the spoonful of broth (without flinging it into your eyes), use your chopsticks to dilute the paste into the broth, and push the spoon deeper into the broth in a few places in the bowl and use your chopsticks to mix the diluted paste in with the broth in the bowl. Don't just plop the paste directly into your bowl because you're going to end up with a nice spicy surprise during one of your sips of broth later. R gave his Tonokotsu Black Ramen two thumbs up. I didn't order any of the Crispy Chicken that I saw on the menu, but the table next to us had an order delivered to them and it looked so perfect that I wanted to just help them eat it.
