I didn't leave a tip because I was here for 1 glass of water and some quick eats. After paying on the terminal and leaving no tip I got a texted receipt and when I was close to leaving a waiter brought out a printed receipt. The receipt I signed again and left no tip as before. However, the waiter confronted me saying "the tip is not included!" they stared over me and the awkward intensity made me leave a tip to escape the atmosphere. Great ramen! But be warned of getting shook down for money. Will not return and I urge you reconsider your lunch options. read more

First time here, the food was overall pretty good especially for this area, with big portions, but it was also a little on the pricier side. I got the takoyaki appetizer and the black tonkotsu ramen as my entree. The takoyaki was piping hot and fresh, it was fried so it had a bit of crunch and was soft on the inside with a lot of sauces on top. My only thing was it was $10 for 6 pieces which is a little on the pricier side, but it tasted really good. The black tonkotsu ramen was alright, I've had better, but this is still solid ramen in the area. The broth was not as flavorful as compared to other ramen I've had in Atlanta, which was the biggest thing for me, but the toppings were overall good and the egg noodles were plentiful, a very generous portion of egg noodles. The egg itself had a jammy inside, and the other toppings were fine except the diced onion on top which was a bit different than normal, which some people may not like, but I was fine with it. Service was good, they were extremely fast and everything came out hot. The restaurant itself is nice, a little on the smaller side, so good for casual quick dining especially for Japanese food in the Marietta/Vinings area. Took my sons out for ramen today for lunch, and we thoroughly enjoyed our fare at Hikaru Ramen! They had the chicken ramen, and I tried the spicy tonkotsu ramen. Both dishes were excellent! Full of flavor, the broth was delicious and the meat tender. Lots of ramen too which my sons appreciated! The bowls were served very quickly, so we were able to satisfy our hunger not too long after being seated. The proprietors were prompt, attentive, and courteous as well! This is a solid joint for some ramen! Stopped in here for dinner while on a work trip. This place is fairly unassuming as it's in the middle of a strip center like many other Ramen shops, but the food was great. I started off with the crispy calamari which was served with some kind of tangy lemon sauce. The calamari had a very crisp breading and was slightly chewy but overall a decent appetizer. For my ramen, I ordered the spicy tonkotsu. It was great! Perfect level of heat on the broth, served with cashu pork, scallions, and an egg. Really good ramen. Service was fast and friendly. Good, not great. Simple set up in a shipping strip off Powers Ferry and easy to find. Ample seating inside and was not very busy on a Friday lunchtime visit. Ordered the spicy tonkatsu along with an added egg and a chashu bun. Noodles were overly hard for my liking. Broth was solid enough. Didn't care for the diced raw onion, that's a new one for me. Chashu is so so, and the seasoned soft boiled eggs stood out as probably the best part for me. Chashu bun was ok but filling was light for sure. They had a sign posted outside for any ramen plus chashu bun for $19 but I was charged regular price for both items. Didn't feel like contesting but not a fan of inconsistencies like this. It is quite literally fried mashed potato but honestly we got it because it was new for us and it was a good experience! The chicken katsu curry was a huge portion of food, the curry was delicious and the chicken was nice. The spicy chicken ramen was also a very nice portion, flavorful and savory! Had an AMAZING dinner at Hikaru. They are located in a strip plaza next to smoothie king. Great service. Despite being busy we were seated immediately. We ordered the spring rolls and crispy shrimp as starters and my husband and I both got chicken Ramen. I had the spicy chicken ramen. Everything came out hot and fresh and tasted amazing! R and I came here for dinner at around 7:20 pm on a Monday a couple of weeks ago, and we absolutely loved the ramen! Hikaru is in a very small strip mall, and it was very easy to find open parking spaces in the free parking lot. Just note that drivers in long or wide vehicles may have to do multiple points when parking or leaving because spacing may be a little close. We walked in and were immediately greeted by the host who was also the server, the lone server, actually. The server did his best handling all of the customers, even the ones who came in for take out, and, for the most part did well except for when he was delayed while in the kitchen. Otherwise, the server was quick, efficient and was able to answer our questions about the food. Hikaru is a small restaurant, and I don't even think 40 people could be seated at the same time. I love that the menu is not extensive, so they're able to focus on providing quality Japanese food that includes 9 types of appetizers, 9 types of ramen, and offer a small assortment of toppings at various prices. The restaurant was very clean and the server cleared and cleaned the tables soon after customers left. I ordered Black Tonkotsu Ramen (homemade pork broth, pork chashu, seasoned egg, kikurage, scallion, garlic oil), and R ordered Shoyu Ramen (homemade clear broth, pork chashu, menma, scallion, spinach, nori). 15 minutes later, our ramen was served, piping hot, to us. I loved that the broth and the chashu both had very good flavors, the full egg's yolk was cooked just perfectly so that the yolk was soft yet not runny, and the ramen noodles were firm and not mushy. R loved his Shoyu Ramen. We would definitely order these two bowls again. read more

This place is amazing. Luckily it's 2 blocks away from my office...I go at least twice a week. My favorite dish is the Spicy Pork Tonkatsu Ramen. It's served with a perfect soft-cooked egg, a couple slices of luxuriously fatty griddled pork loin, and a deeply flavorful and spicy broth. It's perfect on a cold day (or a hot one for that matter...). Also delicious are the gyoza. The filling and sauce are incredibly tasty, but the outside is what makes them exceptional. Some gyoza can have thick, gummy wrappers that interfere with the dish. These are so delicate and fried to a perfect crisp that they enhance the experience perfectly. Highly recommend. Also, the ramen had chopped onion in addition to green onion. I've never had a ramen dish with chopped white onion, and so much of it. It was ok but maybe less onion would be better. read more

We were waiting for this place to open but due to COVID, the opening seemed to have been delayed. We were pleasantly surprised coming into the restaurant. It was very clean and relatively empty. Upon entering, a masked employee asked for our temperatures using an infrared thermometer. We were promptly seated and handed disposable menus with very reasonable prices. The service was incredible with our server incredibly attentive to our needs. We ordered black Tonkatsu ramen, spicy tonkatsu ramen and Takoyaki and it was very good. Portion size was reasonable, flavorful broth and well cooked chashu. The only downside was the uneven onion pieces that overpowered the broth (especially near the end). Ambience was also very nice despite the loud music (I am sure it would get unbearable with more guests). I am excited to see this high quality ramen shop in this area-- the other ramen shops in this area need to watch out because this restaurant is top notch! We will be back. read more

As a Japanese born and raised man in Atlanta, I want to recommend this place for those looking for Japanese style ramen. I've only been there once, had shoyu ramen, but there was nothing I'd take a star away. Five stars. Broth of shoyu was gyokai/fish-based? Kind of thick (I loved it!) FYI if you're looking for lighter shoyu soup. Kale noodle (that I ordered as kaedama) has rich taste, which I thought uncommon? but I'm not sure, it was good regardless. Floor and seating is spacious, which gives a relaxing feel. Oh I didn't see kids menu, they didn't have kids-size bowl either. My 2-yr old liked shoyu ramen I shared, although I had to cut noodles into shorter pieces in a shallow small dish that came for small sides. I'm sure lots of non-spicy ramens work for kids. read more

We got one spicy ramen but it wasn't super spicy but had a nice flavor. Seaweed salad - fresh and flavorful but nothing special. Gyosa had a nice crunchy bottom with soft top. This small Japanese eatery is in a tiny strip mall next to cvs. We walked in behind a dash driver who was waiting, but was seated right away. There were about 3 other parties in the restaurant at the same time. The sole server was attentive and friendly. We ordered the fried shrimp appetizer and it was delicious. Just lightly breaded and fried, with a sweet chilli sauce on the side. I ordered the spicy chicken ramen bowl as an entree. My daughter had the traditional chicken ramen bowl. Went here for a quick meal. I started with the veggie spring rolls which were good. I ordered the spicy veggie ramen for my entree. I was waiting on the spicy, but there wasn't any. The menu didn't say anything about having mushrooms in it, but mine had mushrooms. I do not eat mushrooms because they make me sick. The waiter never returned to check on how we were doing after receiving our meals so I got up and walked over to him asking what a portion of my ramen had in it and he responded that it was mushrooms. It would be great if all additions to the ramen are added into the menu. I would hate for someone to have a mushroom allergy and have eating them. read more
