I called in my order close to closing time and the staff was kind and very professional over the phone. This was the night before Thanksgiving and my little one kept asking for sushi and he's very picky and his verbal communication is limited. So when he asked I was amazed and was like immediately yes! The downtown location was the first place I had eaten sushi from and I'm not at the point where I'm brave enough to eat raw sushi so I really appreciate that there are a lot of cooked options to select from. When I went to pick up my order the hostess was really nice and my order was ready. The inside is pretty and really nice at night. I'll definitely be back to dine inside. The rolls were a nice size and really good just like I remembered.

First, just let me say, the ambience is fabulous! Service was impeccable. Mira was our waitress and she was extremely accommodating checked on us continuously provided everything we asked for.! Parking is available. And the food was on point.

Sunday lunch at Tsunami on Highland Road was great! We started with salted edamame; my daughter with fries (yes, I know). Our waiter Paul was so good, treated us amazing! He got our order and our food was served in a reasonable time. We ordered the rainbow roll, the father Calais roll and Don Tuan. They were all delicious !!! Tsunami is always a good choice and it's just around the corner!

Only difference from this location than the other is the noticeable better service, view abs FRIED RICE is on the menu. This locations was absolutely wonderful to visit before the dinner rush. It helped that my date was charming! If you're on a date ask to sit in the back room to really make the evening elevated. I love hearing the kitchen, seeing the colorful dishes coming to tables and the bartending show that came with our experience. You may be missing the skyline and bridge view but this is nothing compared to downtown.

For a restaurant that opened just a few weeks ago, I'm very impressed! I haven't been to other Tsunami locations, but this place is gorgeous inside with a few tables outside on the patio. Having a sushi place in this location where there are many take-out/fast food options along Bluebonnet really adds to the mix of options if you're not in the mood for something overly heavy. Everything we ordered was great! The Haiku is a great twist on a margarita that is well-balanced and not very sweet (more on the sour side, which I prefer). The Gyoza Umami is a great appetizer; the pork dumplings are tender and very light, not greasy at all, which can happen. The funny thing about the sushi rolls we ordered was that our amazing waiter (Logan) accidentally brought us another table's rolls...so that was remedied by ALSO making sure we received our original order. We were left with a LOT of sushi to eat between two people...most of which we did! If you're into trying new things, the Munchies roll is like a twist on a Philly roll as it's dusted with Doritos crumbs. Weird, yes, but also very tasty! This is a great place to check out for an upscale feel with fair prices! I did overhear that their take-out system isn't up and running yet, but it sounds like that is coming soon! Will be back again for sure!

LETS TALKKKK! First time coming here- celebrating a friend's birthday & I will definitely be back! The food was amazing & reasonably priced- plus we came during happy hour (my lemon drop was utterly delicious)! Can't forget our server- Noah had such a beautiful personality and gave awesome recommendations- if I could get him every single time I would absolutely request it! Will be back- plus the scenery in the back of the restaurant is so lovely!

Honestly can't even tell you what rolls we got, however they were mediocre. The eggplant miso got a bit too soggy and sweet which was disappointing as I love eggplant. The bread pudding was an interesting take and texture. Overall the ambiance/decor of this place is great however I just found the food disappointing, even with a few happy hour prices.

Very cool look and feel, and the location is fantastic! Finally, a nice full service restaurant in the Highland/Bluebonnet area- and an old favorite, to boot. The crab salad was the best in town, the sushi (Green Monster Roll & Black and Gold Roll) matched the high expectations set at the famous downtown location, and the cocktails were delicious. We will be back many times!

Tsunami is my favorite restaurant and has been for a while but the location that I used to frequent is off of Lafayette Street in Down Town Baton Rouge. I have gone to the new location off of Smart Wy a few times and gave it a while to see if they would improve but it just isn't doing it for me. The seasoning and flavor hasn't matched the downtown location and the proportion size has been so disappointing. I paid $18 for 6 small bites of sushi when I can pay the same price and get quality sushi from a restaurant close by and in larger portions with additional protein. It's just disappointing because the new venue is really beautiful but I want them to succeed. I want to give at least 3 stars but the portion size almost feels like a scam

First time there and the food was okay.! Very overpriced sushi place and the portions of food are not satisfying. I gave 3 stars because our waiter was the best at describing the menu and very courteous.! Tbh, you're paying for ambiance.!

Before I begin I will admit that I am biased and frequent the Tsunami location in downtown BR. But what this location lacks in scenery it makes up for it with great service and amazing food. Also it is decorated beautifully. Great place for date night

Food: 5/5 (for buffet experience) Service: 5/5…read moreAmbiance: 3.5/5 I visited this location in 2021 with my family when it was under previous ownership. The 2021 visit food was below average and service wasn't much to speak of. I live nearby and have been wanting to visit here and try the lunch buffet. I was not disappointed at all. I don't think I've eaten at a Chinese lunch buffet in the BR area that I really enjoyed. I brought my son and he is picky and he enjoyed just about everything he tried. We sampled a good variety. Side note: I've eaten at the other place at Sherwood & Coursey, just around the corner and my visit was once with no desire to return. Food: A really good variety to choose from on the buffet. They buffet is from 11am - 4pm, it's not an all day buffet. The variety they have is definitely quality over quantity. Very impressed with price of $12.99 and the quality of food. Egg roll was good, House Made Roll was excellent! The crab Rangoon was not lacking, it had ample amount of cream cheese, no skimping there. Honey Chicken was good, Sesame Chicken was excellent, had a little spice to the sweetness too. Hunan pork was excellent, beef and broccoli was the only item that was average to me. Sweet & sour chicken, friend rice, lo mein, was very good. No General Tso's or Mandarin Chicken on the buffet. Unsure if they take any requests for specific items to be placed on buffet. Service: I believe the owner was the one that greeted us and sat us at our table. Very nice, attentive, and had good small talk about FIFA World Cup. He immediately took our drink order and drinks were at our table before we returned. Ambiance: Place had a decemt ambiance to it. Very clean. I do remember the old Hunan's ambiance was cool because of the old celebrity photos on the wall that had a good amount of LSU stars. This definitely doesn't have that, but I wish it did resemble some of that, maybe one day it will. The important aspect is the great quality of the food, because I definitely wasn't there for the decor. To my surprise this place wasn't jam packed. I was nervous when I walked in because not many patrons inside, but when we left there was about 5 more tables filled. This place should be more packed.

The inside was clean, spacious, and wasn't busy, which was nice bec we weren't fighting swarms of people like at a typical buffet. I tried a little sample of just about everything. I loved how the food was hot and I'd say the chicken dishes were my favorite. I was pleased with the price, it was a little over $30 for 2 adults, which I felt was good for an AYCE buffet on the weekend. Overall, I'd recommend Hunan if you're in the mood for a fair priced delicious AYCE Chinese buffet!
