I absolutely love ramen and have tried many locations in and around Indianapolis area and I have to say Jinya tops them all. The ramen and appetizers are all so flavorful and you can make any customization you'd like. The service is very prompt and fast, but I will say the wait is a little longer is you do sit upstairs as your server is also the bartender. So please be patient! The vibes of the restaurant is great for a night with the girls or date night. I highly recommend jinya is you are craving something warm and hearty. Horrible experience I just went there for my lunchtime and could not eat my food after waiting a long time to receive my food. Had to ask for it to be bagged up to be taken. It was put in a bowl and not put in a bag as I was waiting for so long, I decided to just take the food from the counter and leave took very long for the server to reach my table. Frequent Jinya take out customer! We love their Tonkotsu Black and Tonkotsu Original. The one change I would like to recommend is getting the noodles from the original in their other ramen bowls - they just seem to be softer and more of a traditional ramen noodle. They have a great variety of ramen's ranging in meat flavored bases to some vegan and vegetarian options. If there is a negative they consistently take 10-20 longer than the time provided once ordering online. We always wait for the food rather than it being ready when we arrive. read more

The food at Jinya is excellent! I hosted my birthday dinner at Jinya after attending the recent Yelp Elite event. We were promptly seated and then proceeded to spend the rest of the night waiting on our server. We watch every other table get excitedly greeted while our server barely said hello to us. We watched them prepare tables for future guests while we waited to have our drink, app, and dinner orders taken. I think I've found a new favorite place for ramen! When you walk in, there is downstairs and upstairs seating. We sat upstairs at the bar. We got a beer and hot sake to start. When we ordered our ramen, our server asked if we wanted to make our meal a combo for $5.50. It includes a small salad and 4 gyoza. The salad had a special sauce on it, very garlicy. The pork gyoza were delicious! Crisp on the outside, and soft on the inside. I got a chicken ramen bowl and added a seasoned egg. It was DELICIOUS! If you're going, I highly recommend adding a seasoned egg to your dish. The broth was fresh, hot, and seasoned to perfection. My fiancé ordered the spicy chicken ramen bowl. For those who want the real ramen! Go here. Jinya is a Japanese chain that has locations in the US and this is one of the few places where you can get authentic ramen in Indy area. Before Jinya opened, kizuki in Carmel was the only place I thought was really authentic. It's another great addition to Fishers, where I feel like new business is opening every day! When you enter Jinya the staff greet you saying "irasshaimase" or something similar to it, it means welcome. It has two levels and has a bar counter in each. The ramen prices are a few dollars higher than Kizuki. I highly recommend crispy chicken appetizer, and spicy umami miso ramen. They have many topping options, and fresh garlic is FREE! Famous instagram influencer friend suggested we try this spot out. Great ambiance inside and the staff is super friendly. The menu choices look fairly typical of a ramen shop but there's some solid production value. We both ended up ordering the Premium Tonkotsu Red, I went with spice level 4 and she one-upped me by getting 5. It's $1 extra to get spice level 6-10 and they have a warning on the menu releasing them from liability if you decide to go there! I always order an extra seasoned egg with my ramen which was $2.50! A bit steep but eggs are expensive I guess? The ramen was phenomenal. The pork was great. Egg was pretty good. Broth was pretty good. Great spice. The place is cute! Upstairs is 21 over. The octopus balls were great, it had a whipped egg and mayo like topping which was interesting. They were creamy and I liked that you get 6 of them. The shrimp ramen was good. I like the thick noodles and the dumplings were tasty as well. I added bok choy to my bowl and it comes with 3 pieces. I would have liked more greens. I did devour the bowl. It's not something I'd crave or go extremely out of my way for, but I'd def go back if it the area. We tried the pork gyoza - one side was crispy and one side soft - different, and I liked it. After a few questions to our waitress I opted for the Tonkostu Red with a level of 3 (1-10). Folks. It's spicy. I would have probably gotten a 1 so I could have enjoyed the broth. The egg was perfectly soft in the middle, the pork flaked with a flick of your chop stick, and the noodles held the flavor from the broth. We finished with panna cotta. Now this was yummy. Went on a busier night and were seated within about 10 minutes. Host barely even acknowledged us but then we were told to follow to a table. Wait staff was kind and attentive. The ramen was amazing! Loved everything except the seasoned egg in the ramen, would definitely not get that again. It's a little too dark in the restaurant for my liking as it made it hard to read the menu and see ingredients. I love the vibe here. There's two levels the bar is located upstairs and it's super intimate with dim lighting. This is a perfect spot to enjoy a date night. We started off with some drinks not pictured but they were delicious a Japanese Sidecar which is not for the faint of heart. They are very generous with the pour so be warned. My husband enjoyed the Japanese Whiskey Ginger Highball. He liked it so much he ordered two. For food we started with the crispy rice with spicy tuna. I was really disappointed with this dish. The rice stuck to our teeth and the tuna was lacking any flavor. We also ordered the jalapeño butter corn. This dish was delicious and I'd definitely order it again. I ordered the tonkotsu red and my husband went with the garlic ramen. His was much better than mine. We did not care for the pork chatshu or the marinated egg. Mine was fairly bland. This place has a great ambiance. It's two stories. There is a ramen bar in the first floor and an alcohol bar on the second. We grabbed seats at the bar on the second floor. Bartender was friendly. There are lots of two top tables. The cocktail menu leave something to be desired. It doesn't explain what is in the drinks. They have a full bar. The food was great. Curry Croquettes we're delicious. Edamame was as expected, but it was free with a check in on Yelp. The ramen was awesome. Recommend sticking with the thick noodles. It was fine. It wasn't anything extraordinary. Took the family of three plus the grandparents. Grandpa wasn't happy about paying so much for what's supposed to be a "quick meal" in Japan, but of course he's thinking back to his days of the 70s and 80s prices. Grandma doesn't have a super big appetite so she ended up ordering a couple meat buns, which turned out to be the worst of the group. In fact, anything that involved pork turned out pretty bad, in my opinion. Yes, it's difficult to get swine stink out, but that's the job. We ordered three different types of ramen; spicy chicken, black garlic tonkotsu and yuzu shio. The best one was the yuzu shio ramen. Something about the citrus-y flavor worked surprisingly well even though it initially sounded a bit offputting. Chicken stock wasn't great, and black garlic was rigjt about average. I must have had higher hopes than I thought. When I found out it's a big name chain from Japan, I initially got excited that the recipe would be authentically Japanese, but the thought of it being a chain restaurant had me adjust my expectations. In the end, yuzu shio ramen would be the only reason I'd go back but I'm not so sure it would justify another expensive ramen visit. On the upside, the interior is quite nice and trendy. Definitely nice enough for younger, hip people to be hanging out for dinner. I think they're supposed to be going for more "upscale" ramen experience. It's too bad that I don't think the taste of food doesn't match the aesthetics. read more

I had heard good things about this place and missed the Yelp event last year because I was out of town. Hubs and I went for lunch on Saturday. Located at Fishers at the Yard there is plenty of parking, even if you have to walk a bit from around the corner. I had no idea it was a two story restaurant. We chose to sit upstairs. The place is really nice inside. Sleek and dark. I liked how they had soy dishes and 3 sauce jars on every table. We tried all 3 and all were good. The edamame was free, score with checking in on Yelp. A little salty but I've never had "bad" edamame. The gyoza were really good and had tender skins and good flavored ground pork. We tried the spicy chicken ramen and the wonton ramen. I was sure the spicy chicken was going to be my favorite. I was shocked that the broth in the wonton ramen was considerably more flavorful and both of our favorite. The wontons had a lot of ginger in them but they were huge and there were 5 of them in the bowl. Two bowls of ramen, an order of gyoza, 2 waters and free edamame with a tip was 60 dollars. I'm so happy that Jinya finally came to the Indy area! We were greeted right away when we walked in. Even though we didn't have a reservation, they sat us right away. The host let us know that the sever was busy since he had the whole floor and gave us a warning that it might be a little while until he gets around to us. Although the service was slow all night, I greatly appreciated the warning! We ordered the salmon poke tacos, Jinya bun, chicken wings, and octopus balls. The octopus balls are an absolute must! All the ingredients within and on top of the octopus balls came together to bring a lot of great flavors. The chicken wings were very crispy, just the way I like. The pork in the Jinya bun was very tender and I would recommend. The salmon poke taco shell was nice and crispy but the contents inside were just ok; I would leave this out next time I order. My shellfish seafood allergy doesn't make ramen adventures super accessible so when I first discovered this very vegan friendly ramen spot in Atlanta years ago, I couldn't get enough. It's not just that they have a vegan ramen but that it's *so* delicious and typically one of their top trending menu items. Now that they have more than one vegan ramen, I should be more specific- for me, it's all about the creamy spicy vegan ramen. I also noticed during our Fishers Jinya visit that they've added more vegan appetizers, etc to the menu and it appreciated their fun non-alcoholic options as well. The new Fishers location boasts two floors, an open kitchen and a bar facing the kitchen that is reminiscent of ramen shops in Japan. Heard so many great things about Jinya, and I'd have to agree with all of them! I got the vegan harvest ramen bowl, which came with crusted broccoli, tofu, corn, onion, and plant based meat substitute served in a savory miso broth with thick ramen noodles. Vegetarian/vegan ramen that is flavorful and quality is really hard to find so this was great! All the flavors blended perfectly together, and it was the warm and savory fix I was craving for. My friends got ramen with pork based broths, but preferred mine, so take that into account if you visit here! The restaurant is set up with a top and bottom floor, with a fresh vibe, with many tables on both floors. I will say it's quite cold in there, so maybe wear long sleeves or bring a light jacket. That is when you offer some kind of compensation or discount for the inconvenience. Do better! The menu offers a wide variety of Ramen choices. May Ramen restaurants have Pork forward menu however this place has several chicken and vegan options which is great. I have never experienced such terrible service in my entire life. The short girl with blue hair left me utterly shocked by her complete lack of communication and basic courtesy. We had placed an online order and arrived at our scheduled pickup time. The restaurant was clearly very busy, which we completely understood. Waiting a bit longer during a rush is normal. However, after standing there for 20 minutes (40 minutes after placing our order), the girl with blue hair finally came over to inform us that the kitchen had never even received our order. I showed her both our confirmation email and bank statement, and she responded by saying nothing and simply walking away. No apology, no empathy, no communication at all. As someone who has worked as a hostess, I was shocked and confused. Was she going to send our order to the kitchen? Were we going to have to wait another 45 minutes? We had no idea. A few minutes later, we managed to get her attention again to ask what was going on, and she got defensive, still without offering even a basic apology.
