Loved the menu selection. It was interesting to sit with other people, almost family style, but not. Had I not been by myself, I would have felt my space was being invaded but we Americans are strange like that. Great service! Spicy chicken ramen broth had good flavor but it's very mild (even though we asked for spicy). Old skool ramen had delicious cuts of pork. The egg was a little weird since the white was discolored and they could only prepare the egg runny. The tempura shrimp is like bang bang shrimp. I will return again to try other dishes. read more

I had been wanting to try this place, and I am so glad that I did. The staff was great, because I had a 100 questions, the waiter was very patient...even after I was a tad crabby because of where we were seated - it was packed after Sunday mass. But he was very professional, and helpful with the menu, etc. I can't remember what two Ramen bowls we ordered, I am late posting this review, but they were both delicious. We added an egg, I remember that. We also tried their Brussels Sprouts Tempura = which were the bomb! We loved them. I had downloaded the APP on my iphone, but was disappointed to find that they do not have the APP for the TEXAS locations. Hopefully they will get that soon! My Food was great but whoever the host/ manager was crazy rude while seating us. Also the bartender was awesome but she wouldn't let him be great she was unprofessional and disgusting to him he broke a glass and she ran over to the bar and asked him what type of glass do he break once he showed her she said that's a 20.00 glass out loud and so rude. He was embarrassed. After that she continued to scold him by telling him he was moving too slow and he need to wipe the tables and get the food out fast as clean up faster. I don't see how anyone could work with this lady and how she was in charge the way she was talking to people customers and staff I was disgusted and irritated trying to relax and eat my food...The food was good but I will never go back there unless she is not there or off. As a first time customer of JINYA Ramen Bar, and a common customer of ramen restaurants around the Houston area, I have to say that JINYA is a solid addition to the many different ramen restaurants in the surrounding Houston area. I personally ordered the Jinya Tonkotsu Black (pictured below). The noodles are done wonderfully, and the broth itself is easily recognizable as a signature tonkotsu ramen while still having its own distinct and sort of creamy flavor compared to the ordinary. I also ordered some plain edamame which was also very nice- though of course it is just edamame. Service was very nice. Waiters were attentive to our table and very kind and helpful. Also, when leaving, the staff echos out with a very fun 'Thank you!' which I find rather endearing. JINYA also hosts a very comfortable and beautiful interior with very clean restrooms (a clear sign of a good restaurant to any average foodie) and plenty of things to look at. Overall, JINYA is a very wonderful restaurant which I highly advise visiting if you're curious about something new, wanting to try ramen for the first time, or wish to try some very nice Tonkotsu. read more

Jinya was a great place for a Monday night to meet family for a casual dinner. Although it was quiet loud in the place and hard to hear my dinner companions we still enjoyed one anothers company. The place is small and gets pretty busy around 7 pm. I suggest meeting up before 7pm if not you may have to wait to be seated. The wait staff was great, very patient and answered all of our menu questions with no frustration. Jinya has Vegan options which is always a plus when dining out. Impossible meat is used in several dishes on their menu. The flavor of my food was good. I ordered the Vegan Ramen with out the noodles the broth was great. I also added roasted brocollini and mushrooms which pair well in my broth. The amount of food was just right to satisfy hunger. Lastly, the bathroom did need a little attention to tidy up a bit, it just wasn't as fresh as it should have been. Food was great. We had spicy chicken and tonkotsu ramen. Both were extremely tasty. Salmon tacos were okay; but the shrimp tempura was excellent. The only reason I didn't give this restaurant 5 stars, was the service. Our waiter completely ignored us, even though the restaurant was as not very busy.
