The restaurant isn't the biggest, so I would recommend it most for parties of 4 or under that way everyone can be seated comfortably and quickly. In my opinion, the best thing at Cornerstone is the Portuguese sweet bread French toast. It is sweet and delicious and I have yet to find anything like it at other breakfast places I've tried. Better yet, on your way out, you can grab a sweet bread to take home so the deliciousness can continue at home. I highly recommend this restaurant and hope to be back soon!

It was a cute little place too). Anyway, after a few months break, we went back in late this morning. We received an "old friend" kind of greeting from Judy, a longtime server. This is a family owned & run establishment..I think I heard her say to another guest she had been serving tables there 40yrs?! ( she only looks 35)? Don't believe that 40 yr fact?? Lol. The menu format has a new look. Easier to read but I think most of them old favorites were on the new menu with some exciting new additions. One od the new additions jumped off the page at me & I had to have it. " The Elvis". Im not a crazed Elvis lover except for this plate. It is not a keto friendly or diabetics friend. 2 slices of sweetbread covered in peanut butter & bananas with whipped cream & a couple of slices of bacon. Bring your cardiologist with you to breakfast & he can have his poached egg and berry bowl waiting for you to need his medical assistance. If you don't make it out alive, you can say Elvis left a smile on your face for your last meal. It's so good, you'll remember it for a while. Can you say that about your last rice cake? Staff is always happy in the diningroom. Bakery counter staff is hit or miss as far as happiness factor. They really have improved the bakery counter offerings. Eye candy to get you taste buds going.

The waitresses are always friendly, attentive, and informative, and hearing them describe the daily specials always makes my mouth water. Even when there's a wait, it's absolutely worth it. The restaurant is very clean. I've met the owner twice as he tries to get around the diningroom before you leave to make sure your experience was a good one & personally thank you. I feel that in itself makes a big difference in quality control & guaranteeing he is hearing his customers & perhaps can make changes before it becomes a business-changing problem. (Sometimes a few bad reviews spread like wildfire & changing rumors back to the truth can hurt the bottom line). There is a delightful waitress you'll be glad to have serve you if you are lucky enough to be seated at her table. "Grandma (name)?" is a very happy way to start your day. She knows the menu well & can make you smile on your worse days. The menu has plenty to choose from & the portions sizes..epic! Eggs Benedict is 3 egg size. Pancakes & French toast orders are enough for today & tomorrow without adding eggs or meat. But their prices are similar to other places lessor size plates. There is an ramp at the entrance for those with mobility issues. There are a couple of handicap spots too. I do not know if the restrooms are wheelchair friendly as I didn't check it out yet. Even on a packed Sunday morning, the kitchen was quick moving the food out.. the waitress was right on top of refills too. Definitely worth stopping in & giving it a try but bring your appetite. Eating like a bird, I think, is frowned upon.

We ordered the mini stuffies, the hummus plate, and the fried pickles. The mini stuffies were a highlight. Loaded with Mello's chouriço and packed with flavor, they're a solid little bite. My grandfather set the bar pretty high for me on stuffies, and these came close. They have a different profile than what I grew up with; a little less bready, more chouriço forward, and the clam flavor takes a back seat. Not necessarily a complaint, they were just different from what I'm used to and were genuinely tasty. The lemon aioli on top was also a nice touch. The fried pickles were exactly what you want them to be. Crispy, well fried, and the breading actually stayed put while you ate them, which is more than I can say for a lot of fried pickles. They came with the same lemon aioli as the stuffies, which worked just as well here. The hummus plate was a bit of a letdown. We've had it many times before and it used to be a standout. This time the hummus itself was thick and pretty flavorless, more like a dense chickpea paste than anything else. The accompaniments were nice though and consisted of heirloom carrots, cucumbers, olives, cherry tomatoes, asparagus, pickled cauliflower, carrot, and a pepperoncini, all served alongside some buttery round crackers that were like a Ritz cracker's more refined cousin. The veggies saved the plate, but the hummus needs to find its way back. I suppose it could have just been an off batch and won't prevent us from trying it again. Cocktails were great, as usual. I had the Anana with scotch. I love pineapple and this has muddled pineapple and basil, pineapple juice, cracked black pepper. It's my go-to here and it delivered again. My partner went adventurous and ordered the Jungle Booby, which is built around tequila blanco and mezcal with campari, pineapple, grapefruit, lime, orgeat, and an absinthe spritz. The flavors were genuinely good, but the smokiness from the mezcal was a bit much for her taste. She followed it up with a glass of rosé and had no complaints after that. The cocktail wasn't the problem, it just wasn't her style. One of our favorite spots in Warren for a quick nibble, for a good reason.
