I cannot say enough good things about the Cornerstone Bakery and Restaurant. My sister and I went early on Super Bowl Sunday and were seated quickly. The restaurant isn't the biggest, so I would recommend it most for parties of 4 or under that way everyone can be seated comfortably and quickly. In my opinion, the best thing at Cornerstone is the Portuguese sweet bread French toast. It is sweet and delicious and I have yet to find anything like it at other breakfast places I've tried. Better yet, on your way out, you can grab a sweet bread to take home so the deliciousness can continue at home. I highly recommend this restaurant and hope to be back soon! read more

Well, first we overslept at our hotel so we missed the breakfast buffet when I looked into yelp the very first breakfast restaurant it came up with was here. I can honestly say this is one of the best places I have been to in a very long time, they have only been open since 1983 and they have not opened the second location, but I wish they would. Our breakfast was perfect. Yes there is an extra dollar 50 charge to split your meal and there's a few extra pennies to have onions in your home fries, but let me assure you every bite as well worth it. We got into the restaurant and they said there was a 15 minute wait it was only not even 10. Everything was right on the money they have a fantastic bakery. We end up ordering a bunch of stuff from the bakery. One thing they did have was chorizo pizza I got some of that. I got a few other things as well afterwards like some muffins and their own homemade sweet bread. But the server was just amazing. Her name was Cori very friendly positive upbeat the place that had a little bit of water problem one side so half the restaurant was closed, but it didn't flush to her whatsoever. She had one of the server with her. She managed. She has five or six tables on her own. Nothing was late. Nothing was a mistake. Everything was right on top was just perfect. I would actually drive here again which is about 40 minutes from my house to have breakfast. But I love breakfast so it Has it is located right on Rt 6 it is on the westbound side, but you could reach it from either direction. Is directly across from the police and fire station here in Swansea. Hopefully they get a lot of business from across the street. I said before purchase many things from the bakery we purchased a local their homemade sweet bread which a sliced for us. We also purchased some muffins and some pizza and some homemade rice pudding, which is my favorite. Looking forward to coming here again, maybe we can make it a bike destination some weekend. It is definitely ripen cherry in here. The colors are too gray with a beautiful wood floor. Everything is clean, friendly fresh people are very on top of things get very accommodating. I didn't at first like the coffee so she brought me a different one. They also carry drinks from a place called the mission cold brew company, which is out of Fall River, Massachusetts. And their admission is true and to bring them to human trafficking for a percentage of every cup is donated back back to international justice mission. I found out they're located right in Fall River, Massachusetts Massachusetts just down the street so I'm gonna friend them on Facebook. Look them up and order some coffee. It was just funny that we ended up at this coffee place for that mission and goal in their restaurant. Because this past week, it was on the signs at patriot Stadium in Foxboro all up and down route one about preventing human trafficking here it is hopefully eventually eradicated by way of this coffee company. Been around since 1985 completely missed this place, all things considered I'm sorry I missed it! Cute little place. Family owned sat down with my family and believe it or not people my mother sister and wife have not seen in over 20 years. Came to our table with a very warm welcomes with one on top of the staff which made us extremely welcome and hands-down the food was fantastic! Bacon, crisp, well presented sausage patties massive pancakes fluffy delicious, just fantastic constant check back by the server who seem like she was part of our own family. We really like Cornerstone Bakery and Restaurant. I usually get the sweet bread Monte christo breakfast sandwich but today I tried their chicken salad on sweet bread. It was delicious. Got a to-go container of the chicken salad because it was so good. Also got their BLT pasta salad, potato salad, and grape nut custard and a few bakery items. Everything they have is fantastic. A couple of times I've gotten their roast chicken dinner from the to-go case and it was amazing but they don't always have it. The servers are all really nice too. read more

The menu format has a new look. Easier to read but I think most of them old favorites were on the new menu with some exciting new additions. One od the new additions jumped off the page at me & I had to have it. " The Elvis". Im not a crazed Elvis lover except for this plate. It is not a keto friendly or diabetics friend. 2 slices of sweetbread covered in peanut butter & bananas with whipped cream & a couple of slices of bacon. Bring your cardiologist with you to breakfast & he can have his poached egg and berry bowl waiting for you to need his medical assistance. Looking at this gem from the outside you might never guess what a treasure it is. From the friendly and attentive server to the big portions to the scrumptious food, this place is on my Places To Go Again and Again! And it's an hour's drive one way. My spouse had the sweetbread breakfast sandwich which included home fries. Home fries are one of those side dishes that seem deceptively easy but fail so often. Cornerstone gets 'em right. This is a great bakery and restaurant with ample off street parking. Walking in the front door, your senses are greeted by display cases of delicious looking baked goods. There is a drive up window for your convenience. Elisabeth was our waitress and was very friendly and attentive. I had the Elvis, which was sweet bread french toast with banana slices and peanut butter sauce. Also comes with a side of crispy bacon. My wife had the sweet bread breakfast sandwich with homefries. Quality of the sweetbread not as good as previous times. When you want a lemon square they give you what they pick and if the next piece is a corner that's what you get. I believe since I'm paying for it I should be able to pick the one I want. That's called customer service! Which they lack. Very slow service it's not that they're busy, they are very slow. I really enjoyed my breakfast at this restaurant. My omelette was delicious and my pancakes was too. I would say get there early on the weekend because the place does get busy. If you are just getting baked goods and coffee you can use the drive thru. But, I would recommend breakfast there!! My boyfriend had the Portuguese roast, which was delicious. The meat melted in your mouth. The waitress told us you can call before 2:00 and have an order ready for you to pick up. I am going to do this for dinner one night because I think it would be good with some veggies and sides. Our waitress was really friendly and very helpful! CB - the bakery, the restaurant- at least for the bfast offerings does a nice job serving up local fare, to the many locals and beyond. The chorico and sweetbread are key staples, and the ability to make the former into hash and the latter into toast with butter satisfies the taste buds from southeastern MA to SoCal. The servings are large, but the coffee basic - the latter for FYI. Nonetheless the food - c'est vraiment delicious, and you can even get a Portuguese meat offering for a side. One of the best Portuguese sweetbreads around; however, I bought some blueberry scones and they were rock-hard, lacked flavor, had very few blueberries mixed into the scone batter, and had no sweetness. Though it's almost always incredibly busy, it's because it's the best breakfast around. I love coming here when I have the time, for a great yummy breakfast. Food comes out quickly, and always great. Driving by I saw the fish and chips special. But when I got inside and saw several Portuguese dishes, I changed my mind. I ordered a cup of the Portuguese kale soup. It came with a great roll and, although a touch salty for my taste, was very good. I appreciated the extra saltiness when I was dipping the roll in it. I also ordered the cacoila sandwich, I had never heard of it before. It was tasty but a bit dry, I'm not sure how it's usually served, I would add some peppers and onions to it and shred it a bit more. The roll is fantastic. The fries were good. Ok so we dropped off something for work in Assonet and r headed back to Providence and saw this place. Woo hoo! Love Mom & Pop places. That's r thing!!! We r here working on the weekend so we r hanging out be paid tourists this wknd! Hehe This parking lot had a few truck drivers in it along side so we followed suit! They have a nice Bakery in the front which the cases r almost empty... so it must be good! We got seated and drinked up. There were quite a few Portuguese menu items which Bf knows very well. Of course he picked the Portuguese Roast with eggs. Me I opted for the Vegi omelete yummy. Thank goodness they only give u a few potatoes which I didn't eat all anyway. My omelete was very fresh. His roast was delish I got a bite. The sauce was nice n spicy too. Huge chunks and a reasonable price too. I think we discovered a NEW place near Providence to eat! We'll established Portuguese bakery and restaurant Particularly known for their sweet breads and breakfasts. I was a guest for lunch and was informed everything is homemade and all exceptional. I opted for the slow stewed Portuguese roast served with roasted potatoes with chorizo. The meal definitely has a homemade taste and feel but I just found the whole dish to be heavily salted. I must had drank 3 full glasses of water with that dish. I found it weird that unlike every other Portuguese restaurants I've dined at,this restaurant did not offer any of the rolls and butter for table service. I mean considering they are a full fledged bakery. It made have been a big difference if the rolls was at the table for me to off set some of the saltiness from the overall dish. read more
