A lot of places overload their rolls with rice, but this spot keeps a nice balance. Spring Roll: An interesting concept using rice paper as the wrapper, but it didn't quite work for me. I preview the website menu and notice they have a sashimi dinner for $30. When I got there that was not on the menu so I asked if that was available Reluctantly they said it's offered now for $36 instead. All they had on the menu were ala carte sushi prices of rolls and individual sushi for premium prices. I ordered the sashimi dinner and it arrived 30 min later with a small cup of soup The sushi was fresh average portion of tuna yellow Tail and salmon nothing special with a small lump of rice Half way thru my dinner I asked for more rice as they just gave me a small lump initially I waited for 10 min with no rice then waited another ten minute I finally wave the waiter down so he hurriedly got me a full bowl. When we asked for the bill they charge an extra $3 for rice that I should have gotten for my dinner! It is clear to me that this restaurant is trying to upsell you more expensive ala carte meals instead of dinner they Dont show on menu and charge you extra nickle and dime to pad the bill. For an average sashimi dinner that I can buy normally for $15 at most hole in the wall sushi joint I paid over $48 inclusive of tip for a subpar service dinner experience. To earn my business for a neighborhood sushi joint the price should be reasonable no Nickle dimming and service needs to improve. read more

The service was superb, and so was the sushi. A little pricey, but not too bad. Overall, everything was quite satisfying, except that their sound system was hard on the ears. Not a good speaker system, and even though I am pretty "hip", their music was very hard-core for dining to. Fortunately, my mother and father-in-law, are slightly hard of hearing and so it did not bother them. Haha! (you will see them in the photo having a great time... It was his birthday!) It gets very busy and this place is popular, since it's small inside, it may be loud for some, but I love it: Located in a quaint spot near Laguna Botanical preserve, this place is authentic, sushi chefs have been there for years. The service and quality of the fish is outstanding. They even had Japanese sea urchin, and fresh wasabi. We love sitting at the sushi bar and getting to know our chefs. This is what it's about. All the nigiri we ate was outstanding. Going to Japan is on the bucket list, but we've never been to a sushi place that actually MAKES their own sake. It's very impressive. There's a sushi joint tucked into a strip mall that time forgot, next to a dry cleaner where the starch is probably older than the patrons. Jizake Sushi. Blink and you'll miss it. My wife had--fifteen years of parking right in front of it, and it never even registered on her radar. That tells you something. We gave it a shot, riding in on our e-bikes like hopeful pilgrims in search of something unexpected. The outdoor setup was about as inviting as a folding chair in a storage shed. A makeshift wall tried--bless its heart--to block out the roar of Crown Valley Parkway. It didn't. It felt like dining in someone's cheap backyard, the kind where lawn chairs double as dinner seating and ambiance comes courtesy of muffler noise. Service? Adequate. Sushi? Actually not bad. Fresh fish, handled with care. But even good cuts of toro lose their charm when you're staring at the rear end of a strip mall, serenaded by traffic and surrounded by plywood pretending to be atmosphere. Maybe if this place were dropped into a funkier setting, somewhere with a little soul, it might've worked. But here, in this sad little concrete purgatory, the experience fell flat. They've been here a while, which tells me someone out there loves it--maybe they see something we don't. But for us? This was a one-and-done kind of love affair. But the sushi... are all these reviews real? Some of the worst salmon sushi and albacore I've ever tasted, had to spit out one of my salmons, and don't even get me started with the spicy tuna they call spicy tuna. That is no spicy tuna, that is literally canned tuna with mayo and a pebble of spice. Pretty wild this place is above 4 stars. They were busy today and I am happy. Second time this week to support my community business. Per usual they are slammed when opened at 5pm. Sadly, happy hour is no longer since the pandemic , but Instead I just choose to put in my order to go and eat at home. My usual to go order is : 2 orders of crunchy tempura shrimp sushi, side of extra fresh ginger $2.00 , and spring rolls with an order of seaweed salad. Love it! Tip: they have an outdoor patio area that one can eat at with heaters if you choose. You can also sit at the bar inside if tables are not available: it gets packed so go at the best time bet 5pm-6pm. Let me preface by saying that I will pay a lot for really good sushi but I found this place VERY expensive for a decent so-so sushi (and I know my sushi). The rolls were smaller than average. The sushi were not that tasty and were also small portions. The MP of uni was $26 and they were not that great either (so disappointing as they're my fave).
