In a super unassuming spot with friendly service and quiet but cozy ambience. Reasonable prices and delicious sushi! We liked everything we got and would go back again. :)

We usually have a couple of "go to" sushi places that we frequent in the area but I've been wanting to check out some new sushi places as well. While my daughter and boyfriend were in the area we were all in the mood for sushi so we decided to check Koko Sushi out based on their Yelp reviews. We ordered a good variety today, from the tonkatsu ramen and cut roll combo, to a few specialty rolls and a couple of the basic cut rolls. Ramen was okay and the sushi was good and reasonably priced. Nothing amazing but good to satisfy your sushi cravings if you are on a budget.

Koko Sushi is a good neighborhood place with affordable pricing. The tonkotsu ramen was flavorful and good size. We also enjoyed the teriyaki chicken with tempura combo and it came with miso soup and side salad. We liked the grilled yellowtail cheek, it was fresh and meaty.

What a cute casual gem of a sushi place! The top notch customer service was on par! Now, for the food..... I ordered a bunch of sushi. And let me tell you that it was fresh, tasty, mouthwatering, and delicious! It didn't disappoint! The price point was not bad. Good size portions. I enjoyed EVERYTHING! The dessert I had was green tea and mango mochi, out of this world! Excellent menu selection! Highly recommended! This place will satisfy your sushi cravings, for sure. Check this place out! Go and enjoy!!! Cheers!

Ordered Door dash. The miso soup had nothing in it- just broth and shaved green onions. The Hawaiian roll did not feel fresh, nor did the salmon hand roll. The HG roll was the best one, but not great. I also didn't like that everything came in the same box. We didn't know what sauce went with what. Probably would not order some things again.

Tonkotsu Ramen soup is sooo delicious & perfect for a rainy day! A simple, yet complex broth with a perfectly boiled egg, mushroom stems, green onion, fall-apart pork belly, and firm noodles. Reheated? Still perfect! This is my family's & my go-to and favorite sushi place in MV. Quality is consistently good and even rises every time. The service is always amazing! And the ambiance is fun!

Sashimi combo is fresh! Salad has secret house ginger dressing~~~ Karage is nice and the crab hanroll is goood~~~~

Came in here for a quick lunch with family. It was pretty empty so we could sit where we liked. We started looking over the menu for about 5 minutes when two other groups came in, one group clearly came in all the time based on how they were greeted by the server. The one thing that bothered me about this is that after those guests were seated, they were promptly brought water. I noticed this right away and know that we came in before both groups and we were still waiting for service. I was the only one in my group who noticed this, but my family did note how slow the service was. The other two groups had very fast service! We did not get water until we ordered our food. It's the little things...it's awesome to treat your regulars with love but you are preventing your business from getting new regulars by prioritizing them and making other paying customers wait longer. Sushi was ok, nothing to rave about. I might go back if I was passing by, but definitely won't go out of my way to come back.

Came in late for a quick lunar new year noodle and gyoza dinner. Service was great and food was hot and delicious . Server was very attentive and gave great recommendations. This place is a hidden gem in Mission Viejo!

Nothing like a good ol' 3 day weekend to try something new! We came here twice in a span of a week because price is reasonable, service is fantastic and the food is exceptional. Our first visit, hubs got the Ramen & Roll combination. For ramen, you have options to choose from: shoyu, miso, shio or tonkotsu. Hubby got the tonkotsu and decided to go with the spicy tuna roll for his combo. For me, I decided to select two rolls for lunch. Got the salmon lemon and dragon cut roll. The salmon lemon was SO good! The roll contained avocado, cucumber, sprouts, gobo root and shiso leaf topped with salmon, lemon slices and yuzu pepper. The dragon roll had baked fresh water eel, avocado, eel sauce, krab and more avocado inside. On our returning visit, hubby chose the chicken teriyaki and tempura combo and had 3 rolls to share - Dragon Roll, Spicy Miso Yellowtail Roll and Spider Roll. The yellowtail was fabulous and loved the extra kick with jalapeno slices. Honestly, every item we've had was just chef's kiss. Quality does not diminish either for take out, so whether you eat out or in, it's all good!

$15 minimum to use credit card. Picked up to go. Small free parking lot. The sushi chef was very friendly and nice. Ordered the koko roll. It had a generous amount of tuna. Unfortunately it did not taste fresh and the rice was not made well. I'll definitely try this place again since they're so nice, but was disappointed with the quality of my roll.

The quality and prices here were excellent. I came with two friends, and we all enjoyed our meals. We started with the pan-fried gyoza, served with a flavorful vinegar sauce. One friend who doesn't like raw fish appreciated the teriyaki options. I ordered the sashimi classic combination, which came with a small salad, rice, and miso soup. The salad dressing was surprisingly good, though the rice was a bit dry. Overall, the meal was delicious. Service was quick, and the staff was friendly and attentive. Our food came out very fast, which was a pleasant surprise given how fresh everything tasted. I'll definitely be coming back.

    Kirin on draft. Fresh one

After hearing my daughter and her friends rave nonstop about Koko Sushi, my wife and I decided to see what all the fuss was about. No lie, broke da mouth No happy hour but Kirin on draft. Easy parking, half dozen tables and a L-shape sushi bar. Greeted by our server, "B" and she was awesome. Had the Spicy Garlic Soy Beans and Yellowtail Cheek (hamachi Kama) and both were delicious. Ordered sushi, hand rolls, and specialty rolls and all were tasty and fresh. Definitely adding Koko to our spots. Hope they consider adding happy hour and brown rice (for my wife) to have with the poke bowl

    We do!

I recently visited and was wondering what the name of the amazing sauce that came on the side of my salad? (It was a dark orange/brown that tasted like udon) (It was not soy sauce.)

Hello. It’s just the home made dressing. Basically soy ginger dressing. I’m glad you liked it. Thank you so much.

Is the crab meat real or imitation?

    It’s imitation.

Parking was pretty easy to find and we were quickly sat. The inside is decorated so nicely, gives off a very European vibe. We immediately knew what we wanted which was the Signature Duck Ramen. We also ordered the Karaage (small) to share. The ramen come with duck breast, shrimp and scallop wonton, a quail egg and some other toppings. The broth was so aromatic and the duck breast was super tender. The Karaage was also super crispy, the outside fry was very light and it didn't feel oily at all. The portions were huge and we were stuffed at the end of the meal. There are so many other item that we wanted to try so we'll have to come back in the future! Will definitely be back!

We had rice noodles so unfortunately can't judge on their crafted ramen noodles, they may be amazing! My husband loved his beef noodle soup. It was the traditional Chinese beef noodle soup. Very flavorful, a bit sweet and filled with lots of different cuts of beef. The service was excellent, our server was attentive and kind. The ambience was interesting, somewhere between a jazz lounge and a European cafe, with jazz music playing. I'd say it was a solid 3.5 stars for me. If they added soft boiled eggs and less gamey duck to their ramen, I'd be happy to try it again!

We visited the simpler Shang Shui Noodle House(Frank's dumplings and noodles) while the restaurant next door, Shang Shui Bistro(Frank's bistro Chinese cuisine) , focuses more on elevated Hunan and Cantonese dishes. Once we walked in, we could just find a seat and order through the QR code menu. It was convenient since we could take our time looking through the options. We ordered: 1. Roasted Duck Noodle Soup $19.99 2. House Special Fish Fillet Noodle Soup $15.99 3. Pork Knuckle Noodle Soup $16.99 Everything tasted pretty good! I ordered the signature fish fillet noodle soup, which was one of their recommended dishes. My husband thought the fish soup had the best flavor among the three dishes we tried. The portions were just right, and the prices were very reasonable. For the noodles, I would recommend choosing udon or ramen. My husband and our friend chose rice noodles, but they became too soft and broke apart easily when picking them up with chopsticks. After dinner, we stopped by Frank's bistro Chinese cuisine next door to take a look. The interior is much more upscale, and they also use a QR code menu. Most dishes are around $20 and up. We chatted with one of the staff members, who mentioned that they opened in August last year and focus on authentic Cantonese and Hunan cuisine. He was also proud to share that their dishes are freshly prepared, not the typical pre-made food you might find elsewhere. Will definitely come back to try the dishes at Shang Shui Bistro next time. It's been awhile so I'm willing to give it another shot. Plenty of parking outside, the restaurant itself is really cute with tasteful decor. You order with a QR menu from the table. We ordered fish noodle soup, the 3 dumplings and soy sauce chicken with rice. Everything was pretty good! The fish noodle soup had a good fish profile in the soup, with a kick of white pepper which I liked. It tasted clean and healthy. The dumplings were really good. It definitely tasted like in house made dumplings. Much better quality than other restaurants in the area. The soy sauce chicken rice wasn't bad. But I thought the price was a little egregious. It should be max $15. All in all I'm glad we gave this "chain" another chance.
