    Poke bowl + ikura

I had the nicest lunch specials with my teenage son who loves sushi as much as I do. After a Dr. visit we came to this local spot and ordered from the lunch menu. Service was great. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The dining room was spacious and authentic feeling.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I had the poke bowl special + added the $6 for Ikura (salmon eggs add in I was craving). So good. I had half and had the other half for dinner. Dear son had the 2 item special with the bbq meet and tempura roll. He loved his dish. They both came with miso soup.

My daughter and I were nearby and wanted to grab sushi for lunch. We eat a lot of sushi but had never been to this place before but chose it on proximity and the amount of positive reviews. The reviews are well warranted as the thickness of the fish was generous the staff was friendly and the flavor was good. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Restaurant is clean[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], parking is easy and at 1:00 on a Monday we were able to get right in.

Friday lunch. Easy parking. Got seated right away. Clean. The gentleman serving us was very friendly. Great lunch specials. Our favorite roll so far is the Garlic Albacore.

Stopped in last night and really enjoyed it. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The decorations and ambiance were nice with darker lighting.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We were seated right away and the food came out pretty fast. We ordered a combination meal, a couple of rolls, tuna nachos and tempura. It was all delicious. I would go back.

Was craving some sushi so I looked for a place near my home. This place popped up on here less than a mile away so I figured I'd give it a try, and I'm glad I did! I was very impressed with how fresh it tasted. I ordered the mango spicy tuna crunch roll. It did not disappoint! When I went in to pick up the sushi the lady who helped me was attentive and kind. There are advertisements on the window for buy one roll get one 50% off, but it is for dine in only. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Setup and sushi bar is nice inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Looking forward to possibly dining in next time!

The place is clean, restrooms were tidy, and the food was fine but definitely not authentic which was expected because it's a franchise with many locations. Our server was very kind, he seemed really new and timid but he was very attentive. We ordered a couple bowls of ramen, a bento box, and a sushi roll. After a couple minutes the server returns and tells us that the sushi rice isn't quite ready so it'll be a couple minutes, no problem for us. After a couple more minutes he comes back and seems really hesitant to say what he wants to say but finally comes out with "I'm really sorry but I won't be able to serve the sushi roll or the sushi with that comes with the bento box, I don't think the chef wants to make it." Given the restaurant opens at 11:30 and we were the only customers there with an arrival time of 12:45 I expected 1. The sushi rice would be ready because it was over an hour after opening 2. For the chef to make whatever is available on the menu. My family isn't one to make a scene so we let the server know that it was fine and we would order something else. The restaurant is small enough that you hear every exchange and when our server went back to give our order the two chefs spoke to each other in Spanish and then to the server in english. My family and I are filipino but unfortunately for the chefs in the back I do understand Spanish and all I will say is that they were definitely giving our server a hard time. I try my best to be very gracious because you never know what someone is going through but I will stay true to my experience and what I witnessed. I personally do not condone any bullying and so I really did not appreciate the way they were treating our server or the effect it had on our dining experience. Won't be returning to this location.

It was a Friday night and surprisingly we were sat pretty quick. Started with edamame and they were very good and presented nicely. The California roll wasn't anything to write home about but they were large. The crunch roll was one of my favorite I have ever had but a tad on the sweet side. I liked that it wasn't too crunchy like some rolls are. It is surgical in its layers of crunch. Another roll I liked was the dragon roll. The rolls are on the larger side which is good but they match the price. The Tonkotsu ramen was pretty bland so I recommend adding some spice or sauce to spruce up the broth but the ingredients were all tasty. Overall it's a decent place to get sushi. Service was excellent and quick and they always checked on us to make sure we had everything we needed. Worth checking out if you are close by but I was neither super impressed nor upset we ate there either.

I don't think many restaurants offers cold soba option so if you never tried it, here is the probably the best place in south OC to give it a shot. This restaurant is located in a large plaza so there are plenty parking. The wait is usually not long at all. I have been here a few times with my family during lunch and dinner and it is never that packed. I think it is located in a pretty secluded area so it is not busy but the food is very good. The decor is simple but clean and has many tables. This most recent visit I ordered the marinated beef hot udon and my daughter ordered the Kakiage cold udon. I didn't know what Kakiage is so the staff kindly educated me that it is a ball of Tempura vegetables. Please don't mix it up with Karaage which is Fried Chicken. They are two different dishes. The broth of my beef udon is deep with umami flavor. The soup base has a legit dashi flavor, not the instant udon flavor. You can tell the difference right away. We also ordered the grill squid. The grill squid is tender and has a unique tastes like the dried squid snacks that I get from the Japanese market. The staff even offered hot water for my daughter's left over dipping sauce. She mixed her dipping sauce with hot water to drink it as a soup. Overall the food is great and we'll definitely be back for more.

The portions are relatively competitive to the price. It's a fun atmosphere with contemporary music. We were sat immediately, but was during a slower part of the afternoon. They also have a bar at the front you can sit at if you're solo or with a plus 1. Food (5/5): The Tonkotsu Ramen was very delicious with generous portions that my daughter and I was able to split. There is a lot of broth, so restaurant hack, order a side of noodles and there should be plenty to split with the exception of the toppings. Price (4/5): Id say that the price is competitive, especially being inside Irvine Spectrum. Ramen orders range from 16-25 per bowl. All take outs only and in disposable bowls/containers. You can sit inside or outside. I understand during the pandemic why this was necessary but should be fine to return to normal operation at this point. So much garbage created with all the one-time-use stuff. Most people opt to dine in so makes no sense to have so much trash. And the indoor table was sticky. I know this is now a take out only place so diners have to clear their own plates... but we were the first group sitting down at our table when the restaurant opened...shouldn't the tables be cleaned initially before starting the day's operation? They might have used diluted soba tsuyu for the dipping sauce...it is not the full flavored version but tasted rather watered down in order the fill the larger takeout cup. The soup for nabeyaki also tasted bland, not as flavorful as their old broth. I think I could make a better broth using udon powder packets from grocery store. The rice dishes like katsu-don and prime beef steak were ok. Now the beloved Fukada feels like a generic food court stall. Of course it's still popular but the food is not the same.

They're big, made fresh, and my daughter can easily eat three of them. The restaurant gets very busy and packed, especially during dinner, so expect a wait. The Dan Dan noodles are my husband's favorite, and I really like that they can make them non-spicy, which is a great option for my daughter. For soup, we prefer the big wonton soup over the small wonton soup because it comes with seaweed. The broccoli, however, could definitely be cooked a little longer--it's too hard for our liking. The service is basically nonexistent. You're expected to order from your phone and pay upfront, so don't come expecting much table service. One thing that really bothers me is the water service and sanitation. Instead of emptying and properly cleaning the water jars, they appear to simply refill them with more water and give them to the next customer. Knowing how messy kids' hands can get, this just doesn't sit well with me. I think the sanitation could definitely be improved. Overall, the food has several things we really enjoy, especially the green onion pancake, Xiao Long Bao, and Dan Dan noodles. But the lack of service and some sanitation concerns keep it from being a perfect experience. The 3 starts is so they can look at it and fix the sanitation issue.
