I was so busy eating that high priced Orka that I didn't catch into the fish right away but smelled it and lost my appetite. I arrive to pick up my fish four minutes before it was supposed to be ready it was sitting on the counter with other orders. I ordered a large Basa (swai) and what they did was take two whole filets and cut them into 4 pieces and call it a large order when normally when I go there you get 4 whole fillets on your large order. I know what basa filets look like because i buy them at the store to cook at home. My husband and I shared a large catfish and a medium gumbo. Wow, that was good! The catfish filets were crisp and succulent, flavorful without too much salt. Not at all fishy. The medium seafood gumbo was enormous with crab legs in it! It was also loaded with shrimp and slices of spicy sausage. Not a fan of the rice it came with. The Chicken Drumsticks & Wings are huge, the taste was delicious and the Chicken was cooked & seasoned perfectly. I also ordered 3 sides the Fried Zucchini which are strips of Zuchinni, Fried Okra & Fried Mushrooms. All were delicious but the Fried Okra was the House Favorite. I use to drive from Pittsburg to eat here so now that I live in Vallejo I decided to see if it was the same. I ordered a catfish nugget and shrimp dinner along with red beans and rice and greens. Fish was fresh and tasty so was the shrimp even though they looked smaller than I remembered. The sides were ok with the greens being my favorite the red beans and rice were dry and could of used more flavor and the mac n cheese was mushy and velveetaish. The chicken was very well cooked and tasted great. Where they really shined, was the way they packaged the food for me. They left a slice of bread at the bottom of the fries to soak up grease, they packed the chick in a paper bag because they did not want it to sweat (which ruins the finish). So many times i've ordered chicken wings or something else from other restaurants was was NOT packed right, and the food was soggy and disgusting.
